Chapter 24 Making Clothes 2 (2/2)

Aunt Liang came back to her senses and asked in a trembling voice, "Do you really want me to make these clothes for you?" Without waiting for Su Tao's answer, she immediately added, "If you let me make them, I'll give you half the price of the labor cost. But I have a humble request. Can you sell me the designs of these clothes?"

Aunt Liang knew she was being a bit unreasonable. Every design was priceless. If Su Tao took it to a major garment factory, someone would readily offer a high price. But she still wanted to give it a try. She had never seen such excellent designs before. If she could make these clothes and use them as templates in her shop, she could imagine how prosperous her business would be.

Su Tao pondered for a moment, then looked up and replied, "Okay, but I don't want to sell the copyright all at once. I want to discuss profit sharing with you. If someone makes a piece of my design and puts it in your store, you can give me a quarter of the profit. How about that?"

Sales have been booming lately, and Su Tao has long wanted to find another way to earn some money. However, business regulations are tight these days, and he might be considered a speculator. He'd rather rely on his own little money, so forget it. Aunt Liang's suggestion opened Su Tao's eyes to a way to make money, one with minimal risk. He only needed to provide the design.

Seeing Aunt Liang's hesitation, Su Tao further explained, "The quality of the clothes is not high. They will definitely be popular when they first come out, but imitations will definitely appear soon. Then you have to keep launching new products to occupy the market."

Aunt Liang didn't fully understand some of Su Tao's advanced marketing concepts, but she roughly understood that clothes were easily copied, so they had to constantly release new styles. If she only bought out the clothes this time, then once word got out that these clothes were copied, her homemade clothes would no longer be valuable, and she wouldn't have any new styles to follow.

Having made up her mind, Aunt Liang, who was also a decisive person, immediately decided to cooperate with Su Tao.

Su Tao's lips curled slightly, he gained a lot today, "Okay, but we must have a written agreement, there is no rush, I will bring it next time. I will leave the clothes with you this time, thank you for your trouble." Su Tao was not worried that the boss would embezzle the design drawings. If the boss did not even have this little credibility, then there was no need for cooperation. These drawings were just ordinary drawings to Su Tao.

"Okay, come back in a week and pick it up. Pay the fee after you've made it." Aunt Liang agreed readily.

At this time, the door was pushed open from the outside, and a young man walked in. He was in his early teens, tall and thin, with a short flat head, and a pair of lively big eyes under thick eyebrows. You could tell at a glance that he was a smart and capable person.

"Brother Shitou~" Hu Xiao shouted with surprise and a little shyness on his face, his voice full of uncontrollable joy.

The young man responded happily: "Xiaoxiao, how come you have time to come up today?" His eyes were filled with excitement and surprise.

"I brought my friend to Aunt Liang to have clothes made. This is my friend Su Tao," Hu Xiao introduced enthusiastically. Then, turning back to Su Tao, he said, "This is Aunt Liang's son, Jiang Dashi."

"Hello! Su Taozhi." The young man greeted him politely. A flash of surprise flashed in Su Tao's eyes, but it was pure admiration, without any color. Then he turned his attention back to Hu Xiao.

Hu Xiao and the young man hadn't seen each other for a long time, and it seemed as if they had endless things to talk about. Su Tao stood by and waited silently until they finished their conversation.

"Sorry to have kept you waiting, Taotao." Hu Xiao looked at Su Tao embarrassedly. He had accompanied the man to make clothes, but they didn't spend much time talking about business. Instead, he spent much more time chatting.

"It's okay, let's go back. It's getting late and we have to catch the bus. Aunt Liang, see you next time!" Su Tao said goodbye to Aunt Liang and the young man, then took Hu Xiao and left quickly.
