Chapter 33 I Like You
Time passed by, everyone was waiting for He Chuan's answer, Su Tao also stared at He Chuan intently. Everyone didn't know why He Chuan took so long to think, because they thought He Chuan would definitely agree immediately. After all, everyone saw how He Chuan treated Su Tao before, helping with farm work and standing up for Su Tao. No one thought he would refuse.
He Chuan's face was serious, a thin layer of sweat oozing from his forehead. He stared straight ahead, not daring to look at Su Tao, as if he was intentionally avoiding something. His eyes were filled with heaviness and pain, and he uttered each word with great effort, "I don't want to!"
After saying that, the tall figure turned and walked out.
Compared to the villagers' surprised and puzzled expressions, the village chief seemed to be expecting this. It was precisely because He Chuan loved Su Tao that he would definitely not agree for Su Tao's sake. He understood He Chuan. After all, he was young once and had encountered the same situation...
"Ahem," the village chief cleared his throat twice. He looked at the two young men and couldn't help but think about something else. He quickly collected his thoughts and said seriously, "Su Zhiqing, you heard that He Chuan doesn't want you to live in his house. Why don't you choose another one?"
Su Tao's charming peach blossom eyes looked at the village with resentment, his voice soft but firm: "I don't want to, I insist on living in He Chuan's house. Why doesn't he let me live there? I've kissed him and hugged him, do you think he doesn't want to be responsible?"
The village chief and everyone present were shocked by Su Tao's words and were choked with speechlessness. This girl is really bold and dares to say anything. Although it is the truth, can she say it in public?
The village chief was so angry that his hand trembled as he pointed at Su Tao, and his words became stammered. "You, you, you, I can't control you. If you can convince He Chuan to let you live here, I will agree." The village chief walked away in anger. He had shortened his life by several years because of this stubborn girl. It was better to pass the problem to He Chuan.
When Su Tao saw the village chief leave, he turned around and chased after He Chuan without caring about everyone's reaction.
Fortunately, He Chuan was not walking fast, and Su Tao saw He Chuan's figure after chasing him for a while.
"Stop!" With a delicate shout, He Chuan's body stiffened and stopped there.
Su Tao chased after him, grabbed He Chuan's arm, and asked aggrievedly, "Why don't you agree to let me live in your house?"
He Chuan turned his head away and uttered with difficulty: "It's not appropriate for you to live in my house."
Seeing his silence, Su Tao refused to say a word, and couldn't help but get angry. "Just tell me clearly, why is it inappropriate? Do you hate me?"
He Chuan turned his head and looked at Su Tao steadily, his eyes flashing with complex and inexplicable emotions. He sighed and said, "I don't hate you. I told you before not to get too close to me, and not to have anything to do with me. The gap between us is too big."
Su Tao's nose turned sour at his eagerness to distance himself from the matter. "If that's the case, why are you still so nice to me? Why do you help me with my work? Why do you help me out? Why do you help me deliver medicine?"
He didn't want to either, he wanted to stay away from her, but Su Tao was like a shining sun, making him want to get closer to her, making him want to get closer to her, and want the warmth that was out of reach.
God knows how much he wants to keep her by his side. He dreams of her every day, but he can't.
He Chuan looked at Su Tao again, his eyes becoming firm and cold. "I will help no matter who it is. Don't think too much."
