Chapter 41 Taking a Bath (1/2)

Chapter 41 Taking a Bath

While waiting for the water to boil, He Chuan was not idle either, having already washed the dishes. When the water boiled, He Chuan carried it into the side room, poured it into a wooden bucket, and mixed it with cold water before coming out. "You can wash now. I'll be guarding the door. Call me if you need anything."

Su Tao walked into the side room and found several small brick platforms, some high and some low. The lower platforms could hold basins and other toiletries, while the higher ones could hold clean clothes. It was a rather scientific design. There was a drainage vent in the basement, and a mesh-like stone window at the top of the wall allowed for ventilation and moonlight to filter in through the small holes.

Su Tao poked his head out and said mischievously, "Don't peek." Without waiting for He Chuan to answer, he slammed the door shut. He Chuan could still hear the sound of the door being bolted from inside.

The man gave a helpless smile, turned around and went to the yard, picked up an axe and started chopping firewood.

There was a rustling sound in the ear room, and He Chuan's mind unconsciously emerged with a slender figure, clothes falling to the ground, fingers stirring up water, and water droplets sliding across delicate skin...

The man shook his head, trying to get rid of these associations, and gripped the hatchet even more fiercely, chopping the wood with all his might. The clanging sound of chopping wood drowned out the sound of water in the ear room, and the heat in the man's heart finally dissipated a little.

He Chuan turned around and saw the wooden door slowly opening. The hot air in the room rose outwards and a graceful figure slowly walked out of the clouds.

Su Tao's half-dried hair cascaded down her back, and she wore a black nightgown with suspenders. The sexy wide collar accentuated her delicate collarbone. The close-fitting pajamas highlighted her alluring figure. Seeing this, He Chuan's blood boiled, and a surge of heat surged up his nose and mouth. The man quickly covered his nose and turned away, not daring to look.

Su Tao saw the man suddenly bend over and cover his nose with a look of forbearance, thinking he was feeling unwell. He quickly trotted over, grabbed the man's hand and opened it to check. His fingers and face were covered in blood.

"It's okay, don't get too close to me." The man was afraid that the blood would stain Su Tao's clothes, so he pushed Su Tao away with the back of his hand. During the pushing, his hand inevitably touched the woman's soft and warm body, and his nosebleed erupted again.

Su Tao nervously stepped forward again, and the man quickly stretched out his arms to block him. "Don't move, or I'll get your clothes dirty. It's no big deal, I can handle it."

The man pressed his fingers firmly against the base of his nose, and didn't release them until a long while later. Su Tao heaved a sigh of relief when the nosebleed stopped, and quickly fetched a basin of water for the man to wash his face.

Seeing the man's face return to normal, Su Tao wondered, "Why is he bleeding suddenly? Are you getting angry? I'll make you some cold tea tomorrow." Su Tao planned to buy some honeysuckle to make tea for He Chuan when he went to town tomorrow to reduce his fever, and then add some diluted spiritual spring water. He must have been too tired and weak recently.

"Maybe." The man's dark face turned a little red, and he said awkwardly.

Seeing that his clothes were stained with blood, Su Tao hurriedly urged him, "Go take a shower quickly, and remember to leave your clothes here so I can wash them for you." Su Tao emphasized that the clothes must be left for her to wash.

"Would you like me to boil some hot water?" the woman asked, turning around.
