Chapter 46 Selling Lobsters (2/2)

The man looked at the small toothpick in wonder, took it and put it in his mouth. The shrimp meat was chewy and fresh, and very chewy. At first, he felt salty and sweet in his mouth, and then it gradually became spicy and numb. The more he ate, the more delicious it became, and the more he wanted to eat.

"It's so delicious!" the man exclaimed with a look of ecstasy and enjoyment.

"How much is it per pound? I want it." The man shouted impatiently.

"If you have bowls or jars for storage, it's 1 yuan per catty, and you need a meat ticket for 1 catty. Without a ticket, it's 1 yuan and 20 cents per catty. If you use my jars, it's 1 yuan and 50 cents per catty with a ticket, and 1 yuan and 70 cents per catty without a ticket. If you buy 3 catties at one time, I'll give you a jar for free." Su Tao answered slowly.

Although it was a bit pricey, the man felt it was acceptable. After all, pork was 8 fen per jin, and that was uncooked. If it was cooked in a restaurant, it would cost about the same price, and it wouldn't taste as good.

"Give me 3 jin." The man shouted generously.

Su Tao took the 3 yuan and 3 jin of meat coupons handed over by the man, and handed a can of crayfish to the man. A can contained exactly 3 jin of crayfish.

The man happily took the jar and left.

Once the first person ate lobster, there were more and more. Su Tao peeled a few more crayfish, cut them into small pieces, and placed them in a bowl with toothpicks for the onlookers to taste. Most people who tried it would buy some, and for a while, Su Tao's stall was crowded with people coming and going.

The surrounding stalls had some people visiting them before, but now they were all attracted to Su Tao's stall, and they all showed envious expressions.

Where there's joy, there's sorrow. At a stall not far from Su Tao, a short, yellow, and thin man stood. His inverted triangle eyes glared at Su Tao's stall with envy, a malicious, dangerous glint flickering in them. He packed up his stall and disappeared into the dark alley.

-------------------------------------

After leaving Su Tao, He Chuan walked into the alleys of the town, turned left and right, and made sure that there was no one around before coming to an ordinary house. He knocked on the door several times, and soon the person inside opened the door.

"Brother Chuan? Come in quickly." After the visitor He Chuan entered the room, he cautiously looked around outside before going into the house and closing the door.

If Su Tao hadn't realized, he would have found out that this person was actually Jiang Dashi, the son of the tailor shop owner. Jiang Dashi looked at He Chuan and said with a smile, "Brother Chuan, how come you have more goods?"

He Chuan replied in a low voice, "Yeah," and then took out two radios from the large bamboo basket behind him.

Jiang Dashi took the radio in surprise and praised it, "Brother Chuan, I'm not saying anything bad about you, but with your assembly skills, if you had been willing to work with me earlier, you would have been successful sooner."

Jiang Dashi couldn't put the radio down, fondly playing with it. He truly admired He Chuan. How could those cheaply bought broken tape recorders and miscellaneous parts, once put together by He Chuan, turn them into a good radio? Some of them looked almost like new, and even the used ones could be sold for a good price.

"I'll still give you the old price. How about 80 yuan per unit?" Jiang Dashi said to He Chuan.

"Yeah." He Chuan was very frugal with his words. Eighty yuan was a reasonable price. After all, a new radio only cost one hundred and forty yuan plus the ticket. However, radios were in short supply and hard to buy even with a ticket. New ones didn't need tickets, so it was easy to resell them for around one hundred yuan, and sometimes even more.

"Honestly, Brother Chuan, won't you consider working with me? How many work points can you earn from working tirelessly on the farm every day? If you and I work together, we can also find some big items, and we can earn much more than small items." Large items are difficult to obtain now, such as bicycles and sewing machines, which are too large to transport and pose a high risk. If He Chuan could help him, it would be much easier. He could buy some loose bicycle parts, which are easy to carry, and then assemble them and sell them.

He Chuan did not respond, but lowered his head to think. He was indeed tempted. In the past, he did not care whether he had money or not. It was enough for him to assemble a radio occasionally to earn some money for his sister's medical treatment. But now he wanted to earn more money and give Su Tao a better job.

"Let me think about it. I'll go first." He Chuan said in a deep voice.

"Well, then you think about it carefully." Jiang Dashi couldn't help but feel happy and watched He Chuan leave. He didn't expect that he could really convince He Chuan.
