Chapter 49: Setting Up a Stall (2/2)

"Oh, you made it so hard to find me! Why did you move here?" Ever since Li Weidong bought some crayfish last time, they've been a hit with his family and guests, and he's been thinking about buying some more. But after several attempts at finding Su Tao's stall, he couldn't find any. So he asked someone to buy some crayfish and stir-fry them himself, but he couldn't quite get the same flavor as Su Tao's.

Today was market day again, and he came out for a stroll without any hope. Unexpectedly, he smelled that familiar fragrance, found the stall, but found that it was not the same person as last time, but a tall and strong young man. He was a little unsure whether it was the same one.

After receiving a positive answer, Li Weidong said happily: "Give me two 6-jin cans." This time he wanted to eat his fill.

While He Chuan was packing his food, Li Weidong discovered that there were some lovely pastries on the stall. They were of different colors and cute shapes, including pure white rabbits, purple flowers, and purple and white kittens. They looked delicious and exquisite.

"What kind of cakes are these?" Li Weidong asked, pointing to the side.

"Purple sweet potato and yam cake." He Chuan answered in a low voice.

"Was this also made by your sister?" the man asked curiously.

"Yeah." He Chuan's answer was as simple as ever.

"Then give me 2 kilograms. How much is it?" Li Weidong felt relieved when he heard that it was also made by He Chuan's sister. The quality was guaranteed. If she could make something as delicious as crayfish, then this pastry would not be much worse.

He Chuan packed another two kilograms of pastries for the man and handed them over. "Pastry, 7 fen per kilogram. You need a kilogram cake ticket. If you don't have a ticket, it's 8 fen per kilogram."

Li Weidong's heart ached when he heard this. It was still as expensive as ever. The man pinched a cake and ate it. "Hmm~~ Delicious, really delicious. I'll give you another 2 pounds."

Li Weidong paid He Chuan the money and the ticket, and before he finished, he nodded and asked, "Will you come here again in the future? Will you still take this seat?"

He Chuan replied expressionlessly: "I'll come every weekend from now on, but the location is uncertain."

The man touched his nose, thinking a little sheepishly, "Well, there's no fixed location for a black market. He knew He Chuan would be there every weekend, so if he wanted to find something, he could just spend a little more time looking. He couldn't wait to rush home with the cakes in his hand to give his beloved daughter a taste."

After the first order, He Chuan's stall was ablaze with activity. Regular customers kept coming in to buy, and new customers, seeing so many people buying, also bought something to try. Before noon, all the crayfish and pastries were sold out. Thirty pounds of lobster and fifteen pounds of pastries, totaling about sixty-seven kilograms, were sold, along with various other coupons. For those who didn't have meat or pastry coupons but had other coupons of corresponding value, He Chuan bought them.

He Chuan hadn't expected Su Tao's products to be so popular. He'd actually made so much money in just one morning, enough to cover the cost of repairing radios for half a month. However, it was only on weekends that there were so many people; he probably wouldn't have made that much money on other days.

He Chuan's eyes darkened. At his current rate of earning, he couldn't keep up with Su Tao, and he didn't want to fall behind. Whether it was his sister's health or Su Tao's future move to the city, the expenses would surely be even greater than they were now. He Chuan thought of Jiang Dashi's words a few days ago and had already made up his mind.

There is no rush for this matter. He can go there today. Su Tao is still waiting for him. He can find time to talk to Jiang Dashi about this matter in detail some other day.
