Chapter 58: Driving a Truck (2/2)

Profits always come with risks; the greater the profit, the greater the risk. He Chuan didn't dare tell Su Tao about this yet. She was already worried about him just because he was driving, and if he added the idea of reselling large items, she would probably object even more.

Su Tao recalled the original book's plot. He Chuan had indeed gotten his start as a truck driver. However, she remembered it being after the 1980s. How could it have been several years earlier? Could her arrival have altered the book's plot? Truck driving was at its peak during the 1980s and 1990s. Reform and opening up spurred the development of the freight industry, and truck drivers were among the first to prosper. "To get rich, you must first pave the way," and "I wouldn't trade my steering wheel for a county magistrate." Truck drivers back then enjoyed a glamorous life.

But nowadays, driving a truck sounds good, with a fixed salary, and seems to be better than farming, but in fact it is more difficult and more dangerous. Car accidents are everywhere, both in the past and in the future. To Su Tao, driving a truck is not a good choice now. It is more cost-effective to do business in the town.

However, looking at the man's determined face, it seemed that he had made up his mind not to change. Su Tao could only sigh in his heart and support him.

"Okay then, when do you plan to come?" Su Tao looked up and asked with concern.

"Today, Jiang Dashi and I will go to the freight company in the county to find a master to learn how to drive, and then follow the truck. If all goes well, after the new year, Jiang Dashi and I can drive a truck together, taking turns driving and transporting goods." He Chuan explained carefully.

"Today? So soon?" Su Tao lowered her eyebrows, feeling unhappy. She knew that the man was making money for her, but she felt reluctant when she thought about him leaving her tomorrow.

"Silly boy, I'm just learning to drive now. I have two days off every week. It's not like I won't be back." He Chuan rubbed Su Tao's head lovingly.

"But I just can't bear to leave you." Su Tao raised her lowered head, and He Chuan realized that her eyes were filled with tears. Tears were rolling in her eyes, and the girl was trying hard to keep the tears from rolling down.

"Be good, I'll be back soon." He Chuan cupped Su Tao's fair, tender face and leaned forward, his cold lips pressing against the warm corners of her eyes, capturing the glistening tears. His delicate kisses lingered softly between the corners of her eyes and the tip of her nose, as gentle as a spring breeze and drizzle. After a long pause, he finally bit down on those crimson lips.

Su Tao was bitten suddenly, and his lips opened slightly. The man took the opportunity to enter, moving between Su Tao's lips and teeth, sucking on the unique softness.

Su Tao couldn't help but indulge in the man's kiss, the tingling pleasure making him feel like he was floating on the clouds. Su Tao took advantage of the situation and hugged the man. The man's body shook violently, as if inspired. The gentle breeze and drizzle turned into a violent storm, and he increased his strength, absorbing Su Tao's beauty, as if he wanted to swallow Su Tao into his stomach.

After a long time, the two lips that were attracted to each other like magnets finally separated. He Chuan looked at Su Tao in his arms, whose face was rosy, lips were slightly swollen, and who was gasping for breath, and chuckled softly.

"You're still laughing, it's you..." Su Tao hit the man with a coquettish look on his face.

The man did not resist, but watched with a smile as the small fists fell like raindrops, feeling that they had no force at all on him.

In reality, Su Tao was just venting his anger, not really using any force. After hitting him for a bit, he felt bored and simply put his arms around the man's waist, resting his head on his chest, and started talking privately.

"Then you must take care of your health when you go out and eat well. Don't be reluctant to spend money, just buy what you need." As Su Tao spoke, his brows furrowed and his voice began to choke again.

"Yes, I will." He Chuan held Su Tao's hand tightly. God knows how much he couldn't bear to leave the woman in front of him. When he thought about being away from her for so many days, he felt indescribable melancholy in his heart.

Su Tao leaned against He Chuan's arms, murmuring non-stop, and He Chuan listened quietly, cherishing the time they spent together before parting. As the woman spoke, her arms around the man slowly dropped, and the man realized she had fallen asleep.

He Chuan carried Su Tao into the room and gently placed him on the bed, fearing to wake him from his sleep. He tucked in the quilt and sat by the bed, watching him for a long time before reluctantly leaving.
