Chapter 62 Returning Home (1/2)

Chapter 62 Returning Home

"That's enough. Today's training ends here. Students can have two days off on the weekend. Come back to study on Monday." Only after Master Zhang spoke did He Chuan and the other man dare to stop what they were doing.

"You've done well these past few days. Keep it up. Go home and spend time with your family. Learn to cherish time." Master Zhang patted their shoulders and sighed.

Drivers like them may seem glamorous and well-paid, but in reality, they're neglecting their families the most. He Chuan and his friends are currently just learning to drive, spending two days a week away from home. Once they've completed their training and drive their own cars, they'll be away for anywhere from two weeks to a month or even several months. Some members of their team come from struggling families, and to earn a little extra money, they're away from home year-round, rarely seeing their families.

"Yeah." He Chuan and Jiang Dashi were infected by Master Zhang's sad mood and nodded several times.

After returning to the dormitory, the two went to the shared bathhouse to take a shower and change into clean clothes. Jiang Dashi was about to call He Chuan to go to dinner when he turned around and found He Chuan packing his luggage.

"Why are you in such a hurry? You won't be going back until tomorrow. There's still time to pack up tomorrow morning. Come on, let's go eat." Jiang Dashi put his hand on He Chuan's shoulder and said lazily.

"You go and eat. I'll rush back tonight." He Chuan slapped Dashi's hand away. He was so eager to go home that he couldn't wait until tomorrow.

"No matter how anxious you are, you have to eat, right? Besides, there is no bus back to town now." Jiang Dashi looked at He Chuan's anxious look and persuaded him.

"I'll look for a tractor back in town later. Bring some dry food with you to eat on the way." He Chuan said in a deep voice, continuing to pack his things slowly.

Jiang Dashi sighed. He felt powerless against He Chuan's stubbornness. He could go back tomorrow. Why should he be anxious for these few hours?

Jiang Dashi gave up persuading him and walked out.

After a while, Jiang Dashi came back with a package in his hand and handed it to He Chuan.

"Here, I bought some food for you to eat on the road. I just asked for your information and found out that there is a tractor going back to town at the west street corner. You'd better go there now." Jiang Dashi said sullenly.

"Thanks, buddy. I'll go back first. When I come back, I'll come to your house to find you and come back together." He Chuan took the dry food, thanked Dashi, picked up his luggage and rushed out the door.

Seeing He Chuan rushing out the door like a whirlwind without any courtesy, Jiang Dashi stood there stupidly, rubbing his nose and saying in a self-deprecating tone, "His eldest brother really is the opposite sex but no brothers."

He Chuan followed Jiang Dashi's instructions and got on the tractor back to the town.

"Young man, why are you rushing home at this time? Are you anxious to see your wife?" A teasing voice came from the front. The tractor driver was an honest middle-aged man.

"Yeah." He Chuan blushed.

"As soon as I saw your rosy face and happy look, I knew you were getting married. It feels like a long time since we last met." The middle-aged man teased, his bold and enthusiastic voice driving away the loneliness and coldness of the night.

He Chuan did not answer again. That beautiful face kept appearing in his mind, and a slight smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

It was already around 11pm when they arrived in the town. There were no buses going back to the village, so He Chuan could only walk back in the dark under the moonlight.

The wooden door creaked open and He Chuan rushed in. He walked lightly to the door of Su Tao's room and quietly opened it, only to find that the bed was empty. His joy was instantly dashed. Where was the person?

He Chuan turned around with a puzzled look on his face and went to his sister's room, intending to see if his sister was okay.

Moonlight streamed through the window like a white veil onto the bed, where two slender figures cuddled together. It was none other than the missing Su Tao, now soundly asleep, holding his sister.

The man shook his head helplessly, walked forward, picked up the person he had been thinking about day and night, and put her back on Su Tao's bed.
