Su Tao grabbed He Chuan, who was about to turn around and leave, and said with a smile: "Master Zhang, I often hear He Chuan mention you. He said that you are strict and serious, your skills are top-notch, and you are kind to him from the bottom of your heart."
Master Zhang felt very happy with the flattery, especially when it came from such a beautiful girl.
At first, he treated He Chuan and the others like no other students. But as they ate the delicious food He Chuan brought them every day, and as He Chuan and the others showed their dedication and were the best and most hardworking students he had ever taught, Zhang Weiye gradually developed an emotional attachment to them. While he didn't teach them everything he knew, he did impart most of his skills to them.
Su Tao took out a clay pot and a bag of water chestnut cakes from the bamboo box behind He Chuan and handed them to Master Zhang.
"These are some braised dishes and pastries I made myself. Please try them, Master." Su Tao said with a smile.
As soon as Zhang Weiye smelled the familiar smell, he knew that the one he brought before was made by the same person. Now he knew that it was made by Su Tao.
Ever since he tasted the braised food brought by He Chuan, he had fallen in love with it and could no longer tolerate it from other places. Eating a mouthful of braised food, drinking a sip of old wine, and pairing it with a plate of peanuts was like being in heaven.
What he looks forward to most every week is He Chuan’s return on the weekend.
"Okay, okay, okay," Zhang Weiye said three times in a row. He was very satisfied with Su Tao's operation and accepted it with a smile.
After the two said goodbye to Master Zhang, He Chuan took Su Tao to his dormitory first.
The men's dormitory was tidy, their blankets neatly folded and placed at the head of the bed. A few laundry items hung on a drawstring by the window.
He Chuan took out the things in the bamboo box and put them away, then turned around and was about to talk to Su Tao.
But he found Su Tao looking at him with a gloomy expressionless face. He Chuan felt a chill down his spine. Thinking back, he had done nothing wrong. He was fine just now, why did his expression change in the blink of an eye?
"What's wrong?" He Chuan asked in confusion.
"What's wrong? What do you think, He Sanlang?" Su Tao glanced at the man.
He Chuan smiled awkwardly, not knowing how to explain.
"What did you promise me at home? You said you would take care of your health and not overwork yourself. But what did you do?" Su Tao glared at the man fiercely.
The corners of the man's mouth moved. He had a lot to say, but he couldn't make a sound and didn't know how to start.
Su Tao knew that he was not good at explaining, but no matter how many reasons he gave, they could not be a reason for him to abuse his body. If he did not make his condition more serious, the man would not take it seriously at all.
"If you keep on ruining your body like this in the future, we won't learn how to drive this car. The body is the capital of revolution, and no amount of money can buy back health. I don't want you to overdraw your life now." Su Tao spoke sincerely and with a serious expression, and he would not let the man be perfunctory.
"I won't do it again, I promise." He Chuan stepped forward and hugged Su Tao from behind, resting his head on Su Tao's left shoulder, and whispered.
"You have to do what you say. I know your master. If you still act like this, huh." Su Tao's expression was like a wild cat with bared fangs and claws, bluffing.
"Yeah." The man rubbed his head on the woman's shoulder and agreed.
"I just took half a day off. Let me take you for a walk on the street." The man suggested.
"Okay." This was Su Tao's first time in the county town. He had only passed by when he went to the countryside before and had never taken a detailed look around.
