Chapter 72 New Year's Eve (2/2)

As soon as I reached the village entrance, I heard the deafening sound of gongs and drums, intertwined with waves of cheers. Looking out, I saw four lions, black and red, forming two teams, east and west. The dancers, holding their lion heads, danced to the rhythm of the drums, stepping to the beats, rising and falling, sometimes tumbling, sometimes soaring. Their performance was majestic and powerful, their coordination seamless and spectacular.

The crowd around them erupted in enthusiastic applause and cheers from time to time. Su Tao noticed Hu Xiao and several other educated youth not far away. Hu Xiao also noticed Su Tao and the other two and waved his arms vigorously in greeting.

"Su Tao~~Here~"

Su Tao smiled, signed He Yanzhi and walked over, and He Chuan followed behind them.

"Are you guys coming out to watch the lion dance too?" Hu Xiao shouted excitedly. His enthusiasm for cheering for the lion dance had not yet subsided, and his face was lightly flushed.

"Well, bring the kids out to have a look." Su Tao said with a smile.

Su Tao and the other two were all dressed in red, dazzling and flamboyant, impossible to ignore. The three of them stood together, the woman was charming and charming, the man was handsome and extraordinary, and in the middle was holding a little girl who looked like a New Year picture. If the girl wasn't a little older, they would look like a family of three traveling together.

After a while, He Yanzhi found her familiar friend playing diabolo in the square. She said hello to He Chuan and Su Tao and went to play with her friend.

He Chuan silently accompanied Su Tao to watch the lion dance. Su Tao watched the lion dance with great interest and turned to chat with Hu Xiao.

"How have you been lately?" Su Tao was busy with accounting during the end of the year, and was particularly busy with purchasing work before the New Year, so he rarely went to see Hu Xiao. It was only occasionally when Hu Xiao came to register tasks that they would have a brief chat.

"It's okay, just going to bed and eating and sleeping every day, pretty good." Hu Xiao said carefree as usual, but with a hint of worry between his brows.

"Su Tao, have you seen Jiang Dashi when you went to Aunt Liang's house recently?" Hu Xiao asked in a low voice after hesitating for a while.

"Well, no. He has been learning to drive in the county with He Chuan recently. Don't you know?" Su Tao was a little confused. Did Jiang Dashi tell Hu Xiao?

"Oh, he came to me that day and told me to wait for him for a while, but he didn't say anything else? And I haven't seen him recently." Hu Xiao lowered his head, his voice getting smaller and smaller.

Su Tao wanted to cover his forehead. How come Jiang Dashi seemed to be quite smart when it came to love, and he just said that the girl was waiting for him without telling her the situation. What was he waiting for? He was just waiting for the opportunity to get cold.

Su Tao glanced at He Chuan, implying, "Why don't you give your brother a heads up? You're just creating misunderstandings." Jiang Dashi, Su Tao knew a little bit about the situation, having been told by He Chuan, that Jiang Dashi planned to confess his feelings to Hu Xiao once he made enough money from racing. This put Su Tao in a dilemma. If he told Hu Xiao, there would be no surprise when Jiang Dashi confessed his feelings later. If he didn't, he was afraid Hu Xiao would start to overthink things.

"Don't think too much about it. Men are smart and don't think too much. Since he didn't ask you to wait for him, he must have a deeper meaning. Besides, he is practicing driving with He Chuan now. There are only men there. Don't worry, I'll let He Chuan help keep an eye on you." Su Tao said softly while holding Hu Xiao's hand.

"I, I didn't mean that either." Hu Xiao denied it shyly, but the worry on his brow had dissipated a lot.

After watching the lion dance, the afternoon was already halfway over, and Su Tao had to go back to prepare the New Year's Eve dinner. He didn't know where He Yanzhi and her friends had gone to play, but Su Tao wasn't worried. She had played with them in the village since she was a child and was familiar with the place.

Su Tao said hello to Hu Xiao and then pulled He Chuan back.
