Chapter 286 It's true

The nurse came out holding a swaddling baby. Just as Zheng Meili was about to speak, Le Kangtai rushed over.

"I, I'm back."

The nurse was choking on what she was about to say. She took a breath and glared at Le Kangtai unhappily: "Come back if you want, why are you yelling?"

Le Kangtai stared at the swaddling clothes in the nurse's hands, wanting to hold the baby, and was holding two lunch boxes in his hands.

Zheng Meili didn't want to see Le Kangtai's silly look, so she took the child and asked, "We are Zheng Yingying's family members. Is this a son or a daughter?"

The nurse saw that Zheng Meili was holding the baby securely, so she said, "Daughter."

Zheng Meili's heart skipped a beat and she couldn't help but look at Le Kangtai.

Qi Mengmeng also followed Zheng Meili's gaze and looked over there. The nurse was also looking at Le Kangtai.

Being stared at by three people and six eyes, Le Kangtai swallowed hard and asked the nurse: "How is my wife?"

The nurse did not see any disgust on Lecontai's face and prepared to return to the delivery room.

"Wait a little longer and it will come out."

The nurse entered the delivery room. Zheng Meili held her granddaughter and looked at Le Kangtai. She asked uncertainly, "Kangtai, Yingying gave birth to a daughter. When are you going to tell the family?"

Le Conte had already reacted by now. He adjusted his facial expression and said with a smile, "I'll send a telegram to my mother later."

Zheng Meili breathed a sigh of relief. She couldn't stay here for long. She had to see Le's mother's attitude towards her granddaughter before she could feel at ease.

Le Kangtai first glanced at the child in Zheng Meili's arms, then put the lunch box on the stool.

"Mom, how about I hold the baby while you and sister eat first?"

Zheng Meili was worried about Le Kangtai holding the child, and she was not hungry at all seeing her granddaughter happy.

"I'm not hungry. You and Mengmeng eat first."

Le Kangtai handed the lunch box in his hand to Qi Mengmeng and asked Qi Mengmeng to eat first.

Although Qi Mengmeng was hungry, neither of them wanted to eat now. Besides, Zheng Yingying would be coming out of the delivery room soon, so she shook her head and said she was not hungry.

Le Kangtai glanced at Zheng Meili, but Zheng Meili's attention was all on her newborn granddaughter and she didn't notice his expression.

The three people waited at the door for a while, and Zheng Yingying was pushed out.

Zheng Meili held the child and looked Zheng Yingying up and down. She was relieved to see that she was in good condition.

Le Kangtai asked anxiously: "Yingying, how are you?"

The nurse was quite satisfied with their attitude and asked them to push Zheng Yingying back to the ward.

Le Kangtai immediately stepped forward and pushed Zheng Yingying back to the ward.

It was also a coincidence that Zheng Yingying happened to be living in the same ward as An Jing.

The old woman looked at the baby in Zheng Meili's arms and came closer: "Is it a girl or a boy?"

Zheng Meili already knew that the old woman favored boys over girls, so she avoided her sight and gently placed the swaddle on the bed.

"It's a daughter."

The old woman curled her lips and said, "A little girl deserves to be wrapped in such a nice blanket."

Qi Mengmeng frowned, and Zheng Meili couldn't help but turned around and asked, "What does it have to do with you?"

The old woman choked and said angrily, "I just asked, what's wrong with asking? I gave birth to a girl, and you are not allowed to ask."

Zheng Meili turned around and started arguing with her. Qi Mengmeng went straight out of the ward to find the nurse and said that there were people making noise in the ward, affecting the rest of the mother.

When the nurse came over, the old woman was spitting. The nurse said unhappily, "Why are you yelling? Can't you see the woman is resting? If you yell again, I'll get out."

The old woman shut up instantly, and the man in the coat quickly told the nurse that they would not say anything more. The nurse then glared at them and left.

Qi Mengmeng pulled Zheng Meili back to the window.

"Aunt Zheng, Yingying just gave birth to a child, don't bother with someone you don't want to care about."

After hearing this, the old woman took two steps towards this side.

An Jing suddenly said, "Wang Jun, I'm tired, please be quiet for a while."

The old woman was like a duck with its throat strangled, and she became motionless in an instant.

Wang Jun looked at An Jing with some displeasure. An Jing lowered her eyelids slightly and said nothing more.

"Mom, you must be tired, how about I go get some water?"

The old woman glared at Zheng Meili and said loudly, "My son is filial. Mother is not thirsty."

Qi Mengmeng noticed An Jing and frowned slightly. She looked at the lunch box in Le Kangtai's hand and said to Zheng Meili, "Auntie Zheng, is Yingying hungry?"

When Zheng Yingying heard this, she withdrew her gaze from the child and touched her stomach: "Mom, I'm really hungry."

Le Kangtai quickly took out the lunch box, which contained dumplings.

Zheng Meili shook her head: "Yingying just gave birth, this is too dry."

Le Kangtai wanted to go to the cafeteria to buy food for Zheng Yingying, and Zheng Meili took the lunch box and wanted to buy it herself.

As soon as they walked out the door, Zheng Meili asked Qi Mengmeng what she wanted to eat and she would buy it for them.

Qi Mengmeng didn't plan to stay in the ward any longer, so she stood up and walked over and said she wanted to go with her.

The old woman watched the two of them leave, then glanced at the lunch box next to Le Kangtai, and muttered in dissatisfaction: "You think the dumplings are dry, it sounds like the truth."

Le Kangtai seemed to have just realized what was happening and asked An Jing who was lying on the bed, "An Jing, what do you want to eat?"

An Jing was already hungry. She frowned and said, "I want to drink chicken soup."

The old woman immediately glared at him and said, "Why drink chicken soup? Just drink some millet porridge. I'll go back and cook some."

An Jing ignored her and looked up at Wang Jun: "Go buy some chicken soup."

Wang Jun looked at his wife, then at his mother, then walked out with the lunch box, and the old woman quickly followed him out.

At this time, the child next to An Jing started crying. She didn't know how to comfort the child and was so anxious that she was sweating profusely.

Zheng Yingying and Le Kangtai were watching from the side, both at a loss as they didn't know how to take care of children.

Fortunately, Zheng Meili and Qi Mengmeng came back quickly, and Zheng Meili helped An Jing to pick up the child and coax him.

"This kid is probably hungry. You have to feed him."

An Jing lowered her head in embarrassment. She hadn't even had water since giving birth, so how could she have milk?

Although Zheng Meili had just quarreled with the old woman, she felt pity for An Jing when she saw her appearance, so she shared some of the chicken noodle soup she bought for Zheng Yingying with An Jing.

"You should eat something first."

An Jing didn't want to eat at first, but Zheng Yingying was almost done with her meal, Wang Jun and the others hadn't come back yet, and she was really hungry, so she accepted Zheng Meili's kindness.

Seeing that Zheng Yingying had settled in, Qi Mengmeng didn't stay any longer. She told Zheng Meili that she would come to see Zheng Yangyang in the evening and went back first.

She happened to meet Wang Jun and his mother at the door. The oil on their mouths was not wiped clean, and the old woman was still complaining that the food in the cafeteria was expensive.

Qi Mengmeng really didn't understand how An Jing, who looked like a very elegant person, could marry into such a family.

Qi Mengmeng breathed a sigh of relief when she returned home. Accompanying a child during childbirth is really strenuous work.

Just now, while waiting for the noodles to be cooked in the hospital cafeteria, Qi Mengmeng ate a bun and now just feels thirsty.

She took out a bottle of happy water from the space, drank it in one breath, and burped before feeling much better.
