Chapter 3 The person is alive, the money is still there

Qi Mengmeng watched Qi Huilan take the steamed bun made of double-mixed flour and start eating it. She frowned, handed the bun to her, took the wonton and took a sip of the soup.

"Mengmeng, Mom doesn't like buns, so I'll give them to you." Qi Huilan put the buns on the lid of the lunch box again.

Qi Mengmeng had been through a lot today and didn't have the energy to refuse Qi Huilan. She just pushed the lunch box lid towards her and started eating the wontons.

After eating a bowl of wontons, she felt full and in a much better mood.

The feeling of not having spent all the money but being gone has faded a lot. She comforts herself that although she has lost the money, she feels a lot younger, so she can just think of it as spending money to buy youth.

Qi Huilan, who was standing next to her, finished her steamed buns and thought Qi Mengmeng looked good. She asked tentatively, "Mengmeng, what happened today? Did your uncle Ge hit you?"

Qi Mengmeng glanced at Qi Huilan, rolled up her sleeves and stretched them in front of Qi Huilan. There was a circle of red marks on her thin white arm, which looked a little scary under the dim light.

During the day, Ge Tiezhu grabbed her arm too hard, and Qi Mengmeng's skin was fair and tender, so such a deep mark was left, but it didn't actually hurt much.

Qi Huilan took a breath and touched her arm distressedly: "Mengmeng, I'm sorry."

"It's okay, it will be fine in two days." Qi Mengmeng turned her head away awkwardly.

When she faced Ge Wenling and Ge Tiezhu, she could vent her anger and unwillingness, but when facing Qi Huilan, she didn't know what to say. She simply lay down, closed her eyes and pretended to sleep.

She was just pretending to sleep, but after a while, she actually fell asleep.

In a trance, she returned to her home. Her eyes lit up and she walked around every room. She picked up an apple on the dining table and took a bite. Then she saw a rectangular clock on the wall of the dining room with seven digits on it.

She thought about it with some confusion, and didn't remember having this thing at home.

She looked at it for a long time but couldn't understand what was going on. After eating the apple, she drank a packet of milk and finally lay down on the bed, thinking happily that she would go to see a movie tomorrow to relax.

The next morning, when Qi Mengmeng woke up, she looked at the yellowed walls with disbelief in her eyes. Why was she back to the hospital? Didn’t she go home last night?

Is this a dream?

She clenched her fists and felt a little sticky. She took a look and smelled it, and a scent of apple juice emanated.

She remembered that after eating the apple last night, she just wiped it with a piece of paper, which means that she really ate the apple last night.

Her heart began to beat violently, and she remembered the golden finger that was a must for time travelers. Could it be that her house had followed her?

She looked around and found Qi Huilan was not in the house. She wondered if she had gone to buy breakfast. She locked the door first, then lay down on the bed and began to try to recall how she had entered her original home last night.

It seems to be: go home.

The next second, she was back in her home again. Looking at everything familiar, her tears were about to flow out. She tried to open the door, but found that it couldn't be opened no matter how hard she tried. She tried to open the window, but it also wouldn't open.

She sat dejectedly on the sofa. As expected, she couldn't go back.

She looked around her familiar home and soon realized something was wrong. Yesterday, the number on the wall of the dining table was , but today it became .5, which was 8.5 less.

She walked to the digital clock and looked at it carefully. She felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity. She suddenly remembered that the number she saw yesterday seemed to be the balance in her bank card.

Before she traveled through time, she had deposited the money in her bank card into a twelve-month fixed deposit. If she added the fixed deposit to the current deposit, the total amount of money was exactly.

Her eyes fell on the dining table, and the apple she had eaten yesterday appeared on the table. She remembered that she drank a pack of milk yesterday. She went over to take a look, and the milk was there. The price of apple + milk was exactly 8.5 yuan.

She squinted her eyes and guessed for a long time, and felt that everything in the house could be taken out, but the money in the bank would be deducted.

In order to try out her guess, she took a newly bought jar of honey from the dining table out of the space. Soon she returned to the space, and another bottle of honey appeared on the dining table. The number on the wall became .5, which was 35 yuan less, which was exactly the price of honey.

Qi Mengmeng's tense nerves finally relaxed. The person was alive and the money was still there. This was really a great joy in life.

She looked around, preparing to take inventory of the things in her home so that she could live better in the 1970s, when she suddenly heard Qi Huilan knocking on the door outside the ward.

"Mengmeng, why did you lock the door?" Qi Huilan knocked on the door anxiously.

Qi Mengmeng walked over and opened the door. She was still thinking about what to explain when Qi Huilan said with some self-blame: "Maybe I didn't tell you when I left just now, so you are a little scared."

Qi Mengmeng smiled awkwardly and let her understand it this way.

Qi Huilan put the lunch box in her hand on the table, took out a bun from it and handed it to Qi Mengmeng, asking her to eat it while it was hot.

Qi Mengmeng was busy counting supplies and thinking about how to get Qi Huilan out, so she didn't concentrate on eating.

Qi Huilan waited for Qi Mengmeng to finish eating, then said she wanted to go home. They came in a hurry yesterday, and Qi Huilan didn't have much money on her. After buying two meals and paying the hospital bills, she had almost nothing left.

Qi Mengmeng tried her best to control the joy on her face and assured Qi Huilan that she would stay in bed and not go anywhere.

Seeing Qi Mengmeng's unhappy expression, Qi Huilan complained to Ge Tiezhu for the first time. He knew that they were both in the hospital, so why didn't he send some money over?

Qi Mengmeng almost pushed Qi Huilan out of the door, locked it with a click, and said, "Mom, please come back soon. I'll sleep a little longer."

As soon as Qi Huilan opened her mouth, Qi Mengmeng had already returned to bed, so she could only quickly walk home.

When Qi Mengmeng heard no more noise outside the door, she covered her head with the quilt and instantly appeared at home. She went into the kitchen first and opened the cupboard, which contained all kinds of rice, flour and oil that she had stockpiled.

Rice, millet, oats, red beans, mung beans...all the rice and beans available on the market are available. When asked why, it is because they eat coarse grains to lose weight.

Qi Mengmeng likes to make her own pasta. Her family always stocks whole wheat flour, corn flour, and steamed bread flour. There is nothing she can't prepare, except what you can't think of.

The upper layer of the refrigerator is filled with various vegetables that must be stocked every week, all wrapped in plastic bags. I learned this from watching a certain audio app after the epidemic.

In the lower layer of the refrigerator, there are ribs, pork tenderloin, beef, lamb ribs, bacon and sausage bought during the Chinese New Year, and even two bags of frozen dumplings, which she made when she was free. When she doesn't want to cook, she can just cook the dumplings directly to save trouble.

After looking at the refrigerator, she felt much more at ease, and couldn't wait to look at the snack shelf, wanting to know how many snacks she had not had time to eat.

There was a knock on the door outside the ward.
