When Qi Mengmeng heard the noise, she didn't open the door immediately. She first took out most of the ribs in the pot, put a few carrots in it, simmered it on low heat, then opened the kitchen door and walked out.
There was already noisy noise outside the yard.
She opened the gate just in time to catch a falling man.
"Wow..." a sweet voice sounded in her arms.
"What's going on?" Qi Mengmeng looked at the boys fighting in front of her.
"Brother, brother," Tiantian cried and reached out to the crowd.
The boys who were fighting enthusiastically ignored Qi Mengmeng. She frowned, put Tiantian aside, walked forward and separated the boys.
A boy tried to attack her, but she grabbed him and threw him to the ground.
She used some skillful force, and the boy just fell to the ground and opened his mouth to cry.
"Shut up." Qi Mengmeng growled at him. She didn't have a good impression of the naughty kid.
The boy was startled by her, closed his open mouth and burped.
"Da Hu, tell me what's going on?" Qi Mengmeng looked at the children gathered around. She only knew Yang Da Hu, Yang Er Hu and Tian Tian.
Yang Dahu is the oldest, and Qi Mengmeng feels that he can definitely explain it clearly.
Yang Dahu was called, his lips moved, and he whispered, "Aunt Qi, I'm sorry, we shouldn't have fought in front of your house."
Yang Erhu stiffened his neck and shouted, "It's all their fault. They were lying at the door of Aunt Qi's house, and they wanted to go in and ask for food. My brother asked them to leave, and they started fighting with my brother."
The boy on the ground got up while burping: "We just smell it, burp, what's wrong, I don't have anything, burp, to eat."
"You haven't even ordered anything to eat yet, and you're already knocking on the door." Yang Erhu glanced at him with disdain.
"This is not your home." The burping boy shouted at Yang Erhu.
Qi Mengmeng's face turned a little dark, and the boy who was burping quickly lowered his head.
Qi Mengmeng heard from the conversation of several children that the smell of her stewed pork ribs attracted several children who lived nearby.
The boy with burping was called Yu Jiabao. He originally wanted to knock on the door to ask Qi Mengmeng for meat, but was discovered by the Yang brothers. The children started fighting after a disagreement.
"I'm hungry." Yu Jiabao said to Qi Mengmeng, "My mother is not at home. I'll eat two pieces of meat first and ask my mother to return them to you later."
As soon as these words were spoken, the other children looked at Qi Mengmeng. As long as she agreed to Yu Jiabao's request, the other children would find excuses to ask for meat.
The smile on Qi Mengmeng's face disappeared. Although there was a lot of meat in her space, she hated others asking her for food.
Seeing that Qi Mengmeng didn't say anything, Yu Jiabao wanted to come up and pull Qi Mengmeng's arm, but Qi Mengmeng dodged him.
"I don't have anything to eat at home." Qi Mengmeng shook her head and refused, "Don't wait at my door."
The light in the other children's eyes disappeared, but Yu Jiabao didn't believe it and wanted to run to the yard: "I can smell the meat, you must have stewed it."
Yang Dahu stopped Yu Jiabao and said, "Aunt Qi said there's nothing to eat at home."
"Impossible." Yu Jiaming twisted his body to go in, but Qi Mengmeng grabbed his arm and pulled him to the side.
"If you're hungry, I'll take you to the neighborhood office and ask someone to bring your parents back to cook for you."
Yu Jiabao couldn't break free from Qi Mengmeng's arms and could only beg for mercy.
Qi Mengmeng didn't make things difficult for him and let go of his arm.
Yu Jiabao snorted at Qi Mengmeng and puffed up his mouth as if he wanted to spit.
"If you dare to spit at my doorstep, I'll make you lick it." Qi Mengmeng's face darkened and her voice was very cold. Yu Jiabao was so scared that he swallowed his saliva back, turned around and ran away.
When the other children saw him running away, they also scattered.
Qi Mengmeng turned around and asked Yang Dahu: "Where is your mother?"
"My mom is out getting some soy sauce." Yang Dahu whispered, "Aunt Qi, could you please not tell my mom about our fight just now?"
Qi Mengmeng looked at them covered in dirt, smiled and shook her head: "Hurry up and brush off the dirt on your bodies, otherwise your mother will guess it without me saying anything."
Yang Dahu and Yang Erhu patted the dirt off their bodies.
Qi Mengmeng turned around and took Tiantian's hand and walked into the house: "Tiantian, are you hungry? Do you want to eat meat?"
"I do." Tiantian nodded and followed Qi Mengmeng into the yard.
Qi Mengmeng fetched some water for Tiantian to wash her face, and then said to the two brothers who followed in, "Wash your hands and face."
Yang Dahu followed into the yard with some trepidation, washed his hands and face obediently, and stood with Tiantian.
Yang Erhu wiped his hands, touched his head, and followed Qi Mengmeng quietly.
Qi Mengmeng went to the kitchen and looked at the pot on the stove. The carrots were still a little hard, but the ribs were cooked.
She filled three bowls of soup, put a piece of pork ribs in each bowl, held the bowls in both hands and walked out. When she reached the door, she asked Yang Erhu to hold the remaining bowl of soup.
Yang Erhu was very surprised, but he walked forward quickly, took a deep breath, swallowed a big mouthful of saliva, then carefully picked up the bowl on the table and walked into the yard.
Qi Mengmeng handed the bowl in her hand to Yang Dahu first, but Yang Dahu didn't dare to take it as he saw the bowl of soup covered with oil.
"The soup is still hot, take it quickly." Qi Mengmeng reminded Yang Dahu.
Yang Dahu took it hesitantly when he saw Yang Erhu also brought a bowl of soup.
Qi Mengmeng brought the remaining bowl of soup to Tiantian's mouth: "Tiantian, how about trying the pork rib soup made by Aunt Qi?"
Tiantian looked at Yang Dahu and Yang Erhu and didn't drink immediately.
"Drink it. I put a lot of water in it." Qi Mengmeng turned around and said to Yang Dahu, then picked up the bowl and fed Tiantian a mouthful of soup.
After Tiantian took a sip, she took the bowl and drank from it in big gulps without Qi Mengmeng feeding her.
While Yang Dahu was still struggling, Yang Erhu had already finished the pork rib soup and started eating the ribs.
"It's just a bowl of soup. I'll tell your mother when she comes back." Qi Mengmeng saw what Yang Dahu was thinking.
Yang Dahu looked at Tiantian who was drinking soup and said, "I'll save it for Tiantian."
"There's still some soup in the pot. If Tiantian wants some, I'll serve her some. You call me aunt, so how can I not give you a bowl of soup?"
Qi Mengmeng urged Yang Dahu to drink it quickly, otherwise the soup would get cold and become unpalatable.
Yang Erhu jumped to Yang Dahu's side, licked his lips and said, "Brother, if you don't want to drink, give it to me."
Yang Dahu glared at him, lowered his head and started drinking in small sips.
Seeing how happily they were eating, Qi Mengmeng went to the kitchen to get a bowl of soup and drank it slowly.
She cooked ten kilograms of ribs in order to save food. Fortunately, there was a big pot at home, otherwise it would not have been enough to cook.
Most of what she had just scooped up were spareribs, so there was a lot of soup left in the pot.
Qi Mengmeng originally wanted to serve them some more, but Yang Dahu shook his head and said he was full. Under Yang Dahu's angry glare, Yang Erhu also said he was full.
