Mrs. Zhang forced Jiang Shengnan to give the money immediately.
Jiang Shengnan said unhappily, "You would carry a hundred dollars with you."
Mrs. Zhang wanted to follow Jiang Shengnan to get money from his home, but Jiang Shengnan was of course unwilling to do so. She took out ten yuan from her pocket and handed it to Mrs. Zhang.
"I'll give you 10 dollars first. I'll give you 40 dollars tomorrow, and the remaining 50 dollars next month."
Of course Mrs. Zhang didn't want to do that. What she wanted was to get the money back in one lump sum as soon as possible, rather than paying in installments.
"I only have ten dollars on me, and my family doesn't have that much money. If you don't want to take it, don't take it."
Jiang Shengnan said coldly, "I will wait until next month when I get my salary before I can give it to you. Even if you go to my house and make trouble now, I won't do anything."
She said this with some concern. Mrs. Zhang looked Jiang Shengnan up and down and reluctantly believed what she said.
Judging from Jiang Shengnan's appearance, she should have parents-in-law at home. Normally, the family's money is taken by her parents-in-law, so Jiang Shengnan really has no money in comparison.
"I'm going home with you now, and you give me the remaining forty dollars."
Mrs. Zhang is not an easy person to talk to, and she doesn't want to wait until tomorrow.
Jiang Shengnan wanted to delay it a little longer, but she was worried that Mrs. Zhang would come home and cause trouble, so she could only hold back her anger and say, "Wait here for a while, I'll go back and get the money."
Mrs. Zhang wanted to go back with Jiang Shengnan, but Jiang Shengnan refused to do so. In the end, she had no choice but to let Jiang Shengnan go and get the money.
Jiang Shengnan went home with a gloomy face, got forty yuan, gave it to Mrs. Zhang, and left without saying a word.
Mrs. Zhang shouted from behind: "Don't forget to come here and give me the money tomorrow."
Jiang Shengnan paused, ignored Mrs. Zhang, and walked away quickly.
Mrs. Zhang was not worried that Jiang Shengnan would not come tomorrow. At worst, she could go home to find Jiang Shengnan again.
Jiang Shengnan didn't realize until she got home that she didn't ask Mrs. Zhang to write a receipt. She felt secretly resentful and decided to ask Mrs. Zhang to write a certificate tomorrow.
On the other side, Mrs. Zhang took the money and went home to hide it, then slowly cooked a bowl of rice soup with more broth and less rice for Bai Jingjing and sent it to the hospital.
In the hospital, Bai Jingjing woke up and found out that the baby in her belly was gone. The expression on her face was very strange. She didn't want to get pregnant at first, but now that she was pregnant, she didn't want to abort it. Unexpectedly, the baby was gone.
The nurse who changed Bai Jingjing's dressing looked at her with some pity and sighed, but still reminded her that she should find a way to contact her family after the infusion was finished, as her hospital bills had not yet been paid.
Bai Jingjing, who already looked unwell, turned even paler. She forced the corners of her mouth to thank the nurse, then closed her eyes.
The nurse looked at her and left without saying a word.
Tears rolled down Bai Jingjing's eyes. She didn't expect that Mrs. Zhang would leave her alone in the hospital.
And there is Jiang Shengnan. If it weren’t for her, I would never have dropped the child.
The more Bai Jingjing thought about it, the angrier she became. She wondered in her mind what method she should use to deal with Jiang Shengnan.
When Mrs. Zhang arrived at the hospital, she saw Bai Jingjing with her eyes closed. She thought she was sleeping, so she went straight over to wake her up and put the lunch box on the table.
"It's time to eat."
Bai Jingjing opened her eyes and saw the lunch box. She felt a little warmer in her heart. It seemed that Mrs. Zhang was not that bad. At least she knew how to cook for her.
Unexpectedly, there was only rice soup in the lunch box.
"Mom, I miscarried and you only let me eat this?" Bai Jingjing said angrily.
"You said you lost the baby, so what are you eating?" Mrs. Zhang rolled her eyes. "This is white rice porridge, a fine grain."
Even if it is fine grain, the quantity is too small.
Bai Jingjing argued with Mrs. Zhang, but she ignored her and told her to take it back if she didn't want to eat it.
Bai Jingjing had no choice but to pick up the rice soup and drink it.
"Wait until this bottle of liquid is finished, then go and complete the formalities and go home." After seeing Bai Jingjing finish speaking, Mrs. Zhang put away the lunch box.
What? Bai Jingjing was stunned. She was still very weak, how could she go home?
Mrs. Zhang ignored Bai Jingjing completely. She was already pregnant anyway, so why bother staying in the hospital and wasting money?
Before the hospital closed, Mrs. Zhang completed the hospitalization procedures for Bai Jingjing and took her home.
Bai Jingjing followed Mrs. Zhang back. If it weren't for the hatred supporting her, she would never have reached the door of her home.
When she got home and saw the bed, Bai Jingjing fell down headfirst. She felt uncomfortable.
When Zhang Laosan got home from work and found out that his child was gone, he couldn't accept it at all. Didn't my mother and wife say they were going to buy a house today? How come the child was lost?
Zhang Laosan wanted to settle the score with Jiang Shengnan, and Mrs. Zhang then told him about Jiang Shengnan's compensation. She also repeatedly reminded him not to tell Bai Jingjing because that was the Zhang family's money.
"Third brother, don't be stupid. You can have another child if you lose him. If you go looking for trouble with Jiang Shengnan, what if she doesn't give you money?"
"I've thought about it. This place is close to your workplace. We can still live here, and we can rent out the yard. We can earn a few dollars a month."
Speaking of this, Mrs. Zhang still felt that exchanging Bai Jingjing's child for a hundred yuan was quite a good deal.
Zhang Laosan listened to Mrs. Zhang the most, but he still muttered, "When can we have a child?"
"Let your wife take care of it for half a month first." Mrs. Zhang was worried that Bai Jingjing's blood would offend Zhang Laosan, so she reminded him not to go into the house during this period. Zhang Laosan immediately nodded in agreement.
Bai Jingjing was still waiting for Zhang Laosan to comfort her, but Zhang Laosan didn't say a word and didn't even come into the house for the next few days.
The next day, Mrs. Zhang went to see Jiang Shengnan. Jiang Shengnan wrote a note, read it to Mrs. Zhang, and asked her to put her fingerprint on it before giving her the money.
"Don't come to see me in the future." Jiang Shengnan said and left quickly, wishing he had never met Bai Jingjing and Zhang Pozi.
Mrs. Zhang happily took the money and cleaned up the new yard, then went to find someone to rent it out.
All this has nothing to do with Bai Jingjing.
Although Mrs. Zhang didn't let Bai Jingjing work, she didn't cook for her separately either. She even ate less, because she always lay in bed and didn't come out.
Bai Jingjing, who originally had only three points of hatred, now had five points of hatred. She suppressed her temper and waited until she was out of confinement to settle the score with Jiang Shengnan.
Chen Fei eventually found out that Jiang Shengnan had spent a hundred dollars.
Chen Fei complained in his heart that Jiang Shengnan was spending money recklessly. He said with a sad face that he had been spending too much recently and had little money left. He also sighed and said that although he had been promoted, his salary had not increased much and his expenses were also high.
"It would be great if my parents could earn as much as my father-in-law, so they could help us a little bit."
Jiang Shengnan immediately said, "I will go to my dad tomorrow and ask him to give us some money."
