Chapter 82 I Will Definitely Not Let You Suffer

Qi Lingling asked someone to help collect the money, and she stood at the door of the state-owned restaurant waiting for Qi Mengmeng.

As soon as Qi Mengmeng appeared, she immediately came over and took Qi Mengmeng to the back of the state-owned hotel.

"These things are for you." Qi Mengmeng handed the things over to Qi Lingling for inspection.

Qi Lingling opened the cloth covering the basket and smelled a strong banana scent, which almost made her eyes squint.

"Mengmeng, thank you. You helped me a lot."

Half of Qi Mengmeng's attention was on observing her surroundings, and she breathed a sigh of relief when she found that there was no movement around.

"There are about 9 kilograms of bananas, 6 kilograms of pears, and 2 kilograms of dates."

Qi Lingling calculated quietly, "Bananas are probably 80 cents a pound, pears are 50 cents a pound, and dates are 1.11 a pound, so the total is 12.4 yuan. These are the prices at the supply and marketing cooperative. Whatever you give is fine. I'll give you 14 yuan, and I won't charge for lunch today, so can you put it all in the amount?"

Qi Mengmeng had just arrived in Beijing and was not very familiar with the prices here, but judging from Qi Lingling's expression, she probably wouldn't lie to her. Besides, she didn't rely on this to make money.

"Okay, I'll listen to Sister Ling." Qi Mengmeng took the money from Qi Lingling's hand, glanced at it, and put it in her pocket.

When her cake shop first opened, she still accepted cash. She could roughly guess how much money there was by just passing all the cash in front of her. Besides, Qi Lingling only took out a few bills, so there was no need to count them.

Qi Lingling thought Qi Mengmeng trusted her and was very touched.

She held Qi Mengmeng's hand and whispered, "I'll ask my uncle to pack more meat for you later. I'm sure you won't suffer any loss."

Qi Mengmeng smiled and took out the ribs: "Sister Ling, can you please trouble the chef to cook the ribs for me? I'll pay the processing fee."

Qi Lingling grabbed the ribs and said, "Isn't it just a dish? Why do you want a processing fee?"

Qi Mengmeng took out a handful of melon seeds from her pocket and handed them to her: "Thank you, Sister Ling."

"Wait in front. I'll go talk to my uncle."

Qi Lingling was walking back with the basket, and Qi Mengmeng stopped her, pointed at the basket, and said a little embarrassedly: "Sister Ling, I have to take this basket back."

She didn't buy many of these things, so if she gave them away, she wouldn't have any use for them.

"I'll get it out for you later, don't worry." Qi Lingling patted her chest and asked Qi Mengmeng to wait.

Qi Mengmeng went back to the state-owned hotel and waited.

After a while, Qi Lingling brought out a bowl of beef noodles with more meat than noodles and placed it in front of Qi Mengmeng. She lowered her voice and said, "My uncle said that we need to wait a while before stewing the ribs. You eat the noodles first. I'll call you when it's ready."

Qi Mengmeng nodded at her without saying anything.

Someone nearby asked, "Hey, did the waiter bring the food today?"

Qi Lingling rolled her eyes at him: "You have no right to interfere with what I say to my sister. If you want others to serve you, wait."

The man didn't dare to offend Qi Lingling and glared at Qi Mengmeng. Qi Mengmeng was eating noodles with her head down and did not see this scene.

Qi Lingling sneered: "Why, do you have any objections?"

"No problem, no problem." The man was pulled by his companion and said unwillingly.

Qi Lingling twisted her body and went back to the kitchen. The two people next to her whispered, "You dare to offend the waiter, you will definitely have less noodles later."

"She doesn't dare." The man said with a guilty conscience.

His companions looked at him quietly and he didn't dare to speak.

Qi Mengmeng ignored the disputes around her and was trying hard to eat meat.

The beef cooked by Qi Hao was so delicious, and he gave a lot of it. Qi Mengmeng thought that she should take out some of the beef and mutton in the space and let Qi Hao cook them so that she could save them for later.

Although the meat was delicious, Qi Mengmeng's appetite was not that big. After finishing a bowl of beef noodles, she was successfully full.

She took out a handkerchief and wiped her mouth, then looked at Qi Lingling, who was waving at her.

"Everything is ready. Did you bring your lunch box?"

Qi Mengmeng took out two lunch boxes from her bag and handed them to her.

Qi Lingling took the lunch box and said, "Two lunch boxes may not be enough. I'll use our lunch box to fill it for you. Just bring it when you come tomorrow. Go get it from the side."

There were plenty of lunch boxes in Qi Mengmeng's space, but she couldn't explain why she brought so many lunch boxes, so she could only borrow Qi Lingling's lunch box first.

She went to the wicket and realized that two lunch boxes would not fit, so she put five lunch boxes in her basket.

"A box of braised pork, a box of lion's head, a box of cold spinach, and two boxes of pork ribs." Qi Lingling pointed at the lunch boxes in the basket and introduced them to Qi Mengmeng one by one.

"There are no lunch boxes left. I brought you steamed buns and dumplings. I also made some new red bean paste buns for you to try."

Qi Mengmeng took the basket and felt her hand sink. This basket was enough for five or six people. Qi Mengmeng felt that the fruit she had just sold was worth it.

"My uncle said that from now on, just come and see what you want to eat and he will cook it for you. My uncle's cooking is really delicious and he can cook everything." Qi Lingling smiled and took on the job for her uncle.

Qi Mengmeng thanked Qi Lingling and left with the heavy basket.

On the way, Qi Mengmeng had already put away the spare ribs and lion head, leaving only the braised pork and cold spinach, two steamed buns and two dumplings.

These things are just enough for Gu Guizhi to eat, and the rest can be saved for later consumption.

Qi Mengmeng even put away the basket to avoid being seen by Gu Guizhi.

She was away for a long time, and Gu Guizhi was a little worried. He kept staring at the door and only felt relieved when he saw her come back.

Zheng Yang and Qin Xiaoya had already started to eat lunch. Zheng Yang smiled and said, "You are finally back. If you hadn't come back, Gui Zhi would have gone to look for you."

Qi Mengmeng just nodded at them, and then said to Gu Guizhi: "Something delayed us, let's eat."

Gu Guizhi looked at Qi Mengmeng's expression. She didn't seem unhappy, so he guessed it wasn't a bad thing and he didn't ask what happened.

Qin Xiaoya had been watching this side out of the corner of her eye. When she saw Qi Mengmeng take out two lunch boxes, some meat buns and white flour buns, she curled her lips and said nothing after Zheng Yang coughed.

Qi Mengmeng ignored the two of them. She handed the meat bun to Gu Guizhi: "The bun is still hot."

Gu Guizhi asked Qi Mengmeng to eat with him, but Qi Mengmeng shook her head: "I just ate a bowl of noodles while waiting for the food, and now I can't eat anything at all."

"Then drink some malted milk. You must be tired after being out for so long." Gu Guizhi waited for Qi Mengmeng to make the malted milk before starting to eat.

Just when he was halfway through his meal, Jian Tianhao walked in from outside: "Are you eating?"

Qi Mengmeng stood up to give Jian Tianhao a seat. Jian Tianhao waved his hand and said, "I'm here to tell you that Gu Guizhi will have surgery tonight. After lunch and drinking water, you don't need to eat at night. However, the surgery will probably be later, so don't worry."
