Chapter 236: Finding a House

The next day, Su Nian took her dog Bei and started looking for a house near the school.

She didn't want to live in the school dormitory. She wanted to find a quiet place where she could be more comfortable with her local dog Bei.

She followed her own idea and did not plan to look for a courtyard house in Kyoto or a tube-shaped building. She just wanted to find a separate small courtyard to live in.

She felt that such an environment was more suitable for her social anxiety.

The local dog Beita has been following Su Nian like a little tail, looking around and helping her find a house.

They walked along the streets and alleys near the school for a long time and looked at many houses, but they didn't find a suitable one.

Some areas were either too remote or some houses were too dirty. Su Nian felt a little discouraged and thought that he might not be able to find an ideal house.

Just then, they passed by an alley with a small courtyard at the entrance. There was a sign hanging on the door with the word "For Rent" written crookedly on it.

Su Nian walked in and took a look with the mentality of giving it a try.

There is an osmanthus tree in the yard, as well as some flowers and plants. It is clean and tidy, and has a natural atmosphere.

The house is a bungalow with two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a toilet in the southeast corner of the yard.

Although the yard is a bit simple, it is very clean.

Su Nian fell in love with this place at once and felt that this was the home she had always wanted.

She knocked on the door, but no one answered. She called out a few more times, but still no one responded.

She walked straight into the yard and looked around.

At this moment, an old voice came from the door: "Who are you? Who are you looking for?"

"Hello, I saw the sign that your house is for rent and wanted to ask if it is still available?" Su Nian asked.

"Oh, are you a student from around here?" the old man asked instead of answering.

"Yes, I'm a student at the nearby Tsinghua University. I want to find a quiet place to live." Su Nian said with a smile.

"Do you live alone? I need to see your student information!" The old man looked at Su Nian and said again.

"No, there's also my dog. It's very well-behaved and obedient!" Su Nian said, pointing to the local dog Bei who was squatting beside him with his tongue sticking out.

Afterwards, Su Nian took out his student certificate and showed it to the old man.

"Oh, okay! If you want to rent it, just rent it. It's eight dollars a month!" The old man looked at Tugoubei, nodded in understanding, and said as if nothing had happened.

"Eight dollars? So cheap? Old man, how can you prove that you are the owner of the house?" Su Nian asked in surprise.

"Haha! This is the proof of the house, and this is my household registration book! Right?

I'm not looking for a high price, I just want to find someone who can take good care of my house."

The old man might be ready at any time. While speaking, he took out the information from the small cloth bag he was carrying and showed it to Su Nian.

"Uncle, you are such a good person. I will rent this house! I will definitely take care of your house as if it were my own home!" Su Nian said happily.

"That's good! I will move in with my son in a couple of days, and you can move in then!" The old man had no extra expression from beginning to end when he spoke.

"Okay! Grandpa! I'll come again in three days!" Su Nian said with a smile.

She didn't expect that she could find a house so quickly.

"Then you should pay the rent first and then sign the document! I will give you the spare key! After I move out, you can come and open the door and change the lock yourself!" The old man said straightforwardly.

"Okay, I'll draft the paperwork right away!"

Su Nian didn't waste any time and directly took out the pen from the canvas bag on his back, tore a piece of paper from the notebook, and quickly wrote a lease contract, which is what the old man called a document.

Su Nian wrote the contract, both parties signed and stamped their fingerprints, and Su Nian directly paid the rent for a whole year.

The old man didn't expect that Su Nian, who was dressed simply, was so rich that he could pay a year's rent in one go.

The old man couldn't help but look at Su Nian again, then he wrote a receipt and pressed his fingerprint.

"Uncle! Could you please leave your contact information? I can contact you anytime if I need anything!"

After the contract was signed and the rent was paid, Su Nian said with a smile.

"No problem! I'll write down my new address for you!"

The old man did not refuse. He took the notebook and pen that Su Nian handed over, wrote down his new address, name and phone number, and handed them to Su Nian.

Su Nian took the note, glanced at it, and put it into her backpack with a smile.

"Uncle Shen, if there's nothing else, I'll leave first! I'll come back in three days!" Su Nian said, shaking the key in his hand.

"Well! Okay! Take care! I won't see you off!" After the old man said that, he walked straight into the house with a cold face.

Su Nian looked at the old man's slightly trembling back and couldn't help laughing. What a proud old man.

Su Nian felt very lucky to be able to find a house to live in so quickly, and she was looking forward to decorating a warm home.

Su Nian came out of the yard and walked in the alley.

Tugoubei was so happy that he shook his short legs and ran very fast.

"Qiuying! Hurry up! This is it!"

"Meng Fan! Are you sure? We've already searched three alleys!"

"Sure! Sure! This is it! It's the first one in the alley, so close to our school!"

"I'll trust you just once more!"

The two girls were talking one after the other and passed by Su Nian.

Perhaps because there was a dog running next to Su Nian, the two girls looked at Su Nian a little more.
