Chapter 16 On the Train (1/2)

Early the next morning, Wu Hao took Lin Qinglan and Lin Zheng on the journey back to Guangdong Province.

Not long after they left, Yao Yanfang also came to the staff quarters with her mother, Old Lady Yao.

Yao Yanfang tried to open the door of her home with the key in her hand, but she didn't expect that the key in her hand could not be inserted at all.

"Fang'er, why did you change the locks at your house? Could those two bastards have gone back to their hometown?"

"Impossible. Neither of them has ever traveled far alone. They may not even know where the train station is."

Yao Yanfang didn't believe that the two children were so brave. From the Northeast to Guangdong Province, they had to cross most of the flower-growing country. How could they dare to travel such a long distance?

"Can't they ask for help from the leaders of the army? Come on, let's go back! Don't worry about the money in the hands of the two children." Old lady Yao looked at Yao Yanfang as if she were a fool. She was almost forty years old and still as brainless as before.

"Why? They robbed me of so much money. I'm going to the train station to find them and get my money back."

"Have you got your brain eaten by a dog? They'll have already left by the time you get to the train station. Can you go back home with them? Besides, do you think they'll obey you and give you money after you go back to Guangdong?"

Old lady Yao doesn't want to take care of this silly girl anymore. She can't even take care of two children, so what else can she expect her to do?

"But I was unwilling to accept that so much money was taken away by them like this."

"What can you do if you are unwilling? Do you dare to go back to Guangdong Province and ask them for money?"

Old Lady Yao was not as naive as Yao Yanfang. Linjiawan was the Lin family's territory. Even if they went there, they would not get any money, and it would be a waste of money. Instead of thinking about the money they could not get, they might as well go back and find a new husband for their daughter while she was still young and had a good face. After a while, when their daughter became ugly and old due to overwork, she would not be able to sell her for a good price.

Yao Yanfang didn't know that her mother was planning to sell her out again. Her mind was now full of money. In her heart, she didn't care about the safety of her daughter and son, and she didn't want money.

Aunt Peng had been secretly watching Yao Yanfang and Old Lady Yao from next door, and only felt relieved after she was sure that they had left the family compound.

At first, she was worried that Yao Yanfang would break in, and she was thinking about going to the logistics department to find someone to deal with the matter. After all, Lin Qinglan had returned the yard to the army, and it was no longer Yao Yanfang's home.

She didn't expect Yao Yanfang to be so sensible. When she saw the door was locked, she didn't even think about going in.

The houses that Aunt Peng and Lin Jianshe's family divided were all bungalows, and they even shared a wall. They had a good relationship over the years. Aunt Peng had watched Lin Qinglan and Hammer grow up, so she had always had a good impression of Yao Yanfang. What she had done in the past few days made her look down on her even more.

Lin Jianshe was so kind to Yao Yanfang in the past, but now, only a week after his death, Yao Yanfang wants to abandon the children and take the money back to her parents' home.

Qinglan was such a sensible child, yet she was forced to commit suicide. I don’t know what that woman was thinking. She had offended both of her children. Doesn’t she want her children to take care of her in her old age?
