Chapter 86: Yellow Rumors (1/2)

Aunt Peng sighed helplessly. It was because Yao Yanfang didn't care about her that her children were disappointed.

Yao Yanfang has always been a selfish person. When she was young, she only cared about having fun. When she got old, it was too late for her to regret.

Aunt Peng pulled Lin Qinglan into the house and sat down. "Qinglan, how is your service in the army? Have you encountered any difficulties?"

Lin Qinglan smiled and shook her head. "Grandma Peng, my unit is pretty good and my comrades-in-arms take good care of me."

"Then, come over when you are on vacation and treat this place as your home. It is almost time for dinner now, Qinglan, you can stay for dinner tomorrow. Hammer, come over and chat with your sister Qinglan."

Without waiting for Lin Qinglan to refuse, Aunt Peng rushed to the kitchen to prepare dinner.

"Grandma Peng, that's all. I'll just sit for a while and then leave soon. I have training tonight." Lin Qinglan quickly grabbed Aunt Peng who wanted to cook. She had only planned to come and visit Aunt Peng that day, and had no intention of asking her to cook for her.

"Why are you in such a hurry? Just wait a moment. I still have some steamed buns from lunch. I'll go cook two dishes."

"Really, there's no need. You're so polite that I don't want to come to your house anymore. By the way, why don't aunt and sister come home?" Lin Qinglan pulled Aunt Peng back to sit on the chair. The Peng family was having a hard time. The family of five relied on Uncle Peng's allowance to make ends meet.

"What are you talking about, kid! How can I not leave some food for you when you come to play at Grandma Peng's house? I just have half a cured chicken at home. I'll make you some cured chicken and potatoes later. Your aunt has taken your sister back to her parents' home and she probably won't be back tomorrow night."

"Grandma Peng, I don't lack meat in the army, so you should save the cured chicken for Hammer and my sister! Are you not used to the seafood I mailed to you before? I'll ask my sister to mail you some more later."

Aunt Peng's eyes were red when she heard this. "Qinglan, you are so thoughtful. The seafood is delicious. Our whole family loves it. The seafood you sent last time is enough. Don't ask your sister to send me more."

Lin Qinglan smiled and held Aunt Peng's hand, "Grandma Peng, you've been kind to me, this little thing is nothing."

Just then, there was a commotion outside. It turned out that Uncle Peng had returned, followed by the dejected Hammer.

Uncle Peng greeted Lin Qinglan when he saw her, then said to Hammer with a dark face: "Look at you, you just do mischief all day long. If you had half the knowledge of your brother Lin Zheng, you would be fine."

Hammer grumbled, "Dad, I'm right, Fatty deserves a beating."

"You stinky boy, you're still stubborn. Believe it or not, I'll tie you up and beat you up."

It turned out that Hammer had just had a fight with someone outside and was just seen by his father.

"Uncle Peng, don't be angry. Hammer is always sensible. Maybe someone provoked him first, so he started to hit others." Lin Qinglan winked at Hammer, asking him to quickly explain why they fought just now.

But no matter how Lin Qinglan winked at him, he said nothing.
