Lu Qingyan didn’t know that her housing application had been approved. She was feeling very comfortable at her mother’s house. After eating and taking a walk, she went back to her room to sleep.
After my nephew came back, I went to the mountains to play with them.
"Auntie, this is dandelion, it tastes delicious with soybean paste." Gangzi took the small basket and shovel in his hand, dug out a dandelion, and said happily
"Really? Then I'll help you." Lu Qingyan looked at the dandelion and started digging with a stick. She stopped when her hands started to hurt.
"Auntie, this is wild raspberry, it's very sweet." Five-year-old Lu Ziming ran over and said, holding a fruit that looked like a strawberry.
"Gangzi, let's stop digging and go pick wild berries." Lu Qingyan said, carrying a small basket and following the stone to a bush.
After seeing a lot of red wild berries, he asked his two nephews to stay aside while he carefully picked all the red wild berries and put them into a small stone basket.
"Aunt, what do you think that is?" Gangzi and Shitou stood aside and looked around. Suddenly, they saw something moving in front of them and asked loudly.
"That's a pheasant. Don't talk. Let's go slowly and see if we can catch it." Lu Qingyan looked over and smiled. After saying that, she led the two children over quietly.
It was lucky for Lu Qingyan and the other two. The pheasant was laying eggs, and even though it heard the noise, it showed no intention of hiding. So the three of them walked over, and Gangzi and Shitou reached out and grabbed the pheasant.
"Tie them up quickly." Lu Qingyan pulled some dry grass from the side and handed it to the two children.
"Aunt, you and your brother wait here, I'll go call grandma over." Gangzi tied up the pheasant, then ran down the mountain to the field, found his grandma, and shouted:
"grandmother."
"What's wrong?" Mother Lu wiped the sweat off her head, straightened up and shouted
"Come here, I have something to talk to you about." Gangzi looked at his second and third aunts, rolled his eyes and shouted
"You little brat, what are you hiding from us?" Mrs. Lu looked at the little one with a pout.
"What you said, isn't it normal for a child to have some secrets when he is young?" Mrs. Lu was also unhappy when she heard this.
"I heard that my sister-in-law is staying at home. Does she not plan to leave?" Mrs. Lu raised her head and asked after listening to the conversation between the two.
"My sister-in-law will be joining the army in a few days, so she plans to stay at home for a few more days." Mrs. Lu said calmly.
"He's joining the army so soon?" Second and Third Sisters Lu were surprised to hear the news.
"Yeah." Mrs. Lu nodded and stopped talking.
But he felt proud in his heart, because before his sister-in-law got married, these two sisters-in-law were the most noisy.
Now that my sister-in-law has married a soldier, she will follow the army when the time comes. She will be a city dweller then. If they really have any problems in the future and ask her sister-in-law for help, she probably won't care.
But she is different. Because she takes care of the two elders in their old age, her sister-in-law has to treat her better.
Mother Lu went to the edge of the field, frowned at her eldest grandson and asked, "Why are you here instead of staying at home with your aunt?"
"Grandma, my aunt and I caught some pheasants in the mountains. Come with me to get them back." Gangzi said as he was about to grab his grandmother's hand and leave.
Upon hearing this, Mother Lu's face was full of smiles. After finding the scorekeeper to record the work, she followed her grandson to the mountain.
"Mom, you're here." Lu Qingyan put the two pheasant eggs she had just found into the small basket, looked at Lu's mother coming over, and said with a smile
"My daughter is really amazing. Others go up the mountain and find nothing, but you can catch a pheasant." Mother Lu looked at the pheasant with its legs tied on the ground, reached out and picked it up. It felt like it weighed four or five kilograms, and her face was full of smiles.
"Mom, how do we carry the pheasant down the mountain?" Although Lu Qingyan didn't understand anything, she still knew what was written in the book, so she asked curiously.
After listening to her daughter's words, Lu's mother looked around, quickly picked up a pile of branches, stuffed the pheasant in, used wild vines as ropes, tied the branches tightly, and put them on her back, looking at her daughter proudly.
Lu Qingyan silently raised a thumbs-up. This old ginger is still wise. She didn't expect this.
So Mother Lu brought her daughter and two grandsons down the mountain, boiled water to remove the chicken feathers, and stewed them all in the evening to satisfy everyone's cravings.
