Chapter 29 Gossip

Upon hearing this, Aunt Wu and Aunt Zhao were both incredulous and asked, "Is this true?"

"I just had a dream. I don't know if it's true or not." Lu Qingyan said helplessly after hearing this.

"Well, let's buy less. It's summer now, and if we buy too much, things will go bad easily." Aunt Wu looked at Aunt Zhao with embarrassment and said

"Although it is said that dreams are the opposite of what they actually are, since I had this dream, it must have something to say. I think we should buy more food so that we don't have to worry about leaving it uneaten." Aunt Zhao is older than Aunt Wu and has experienced more. She has always been most afraid of famine, so she keeps more food at home to feel at ease.

"Qingyan girl, Captain Gu should call us when he goes to the city tomorrow." Aunt Wu thought what Aunt Zhao said made sense, so she said to Lu Qingyan.

"Okay, there's no need to worry about food being stored away. It's good to buy more and store them at home." Lu Qingyan smiled and nodded.

In this way, the three of them came to the supply and marketing cooperative, just like Japanese invaders entering a village, asking for tickets or not, and buying anything that could be stored. While the three of them were staring at the stunned saleswoman, one of them picked up a sack and walked back.

"Hoo, hoo, Aunt Wu, Aunt Zhao, you two go ahead, I'll take a rest." Lu Qingyan walked a short distance with the sack on her back, and then she couldn't walk anymore. She waved her hands and said, panting.

"Okay, you walk slowly first, we'll take the stuff home first and then come pick you up." Aunt Wu used to farm in the village, and carrying these little things was like playing.

He walked quickly back home, ignoring the gossip of the people downstairs, went into the house to put down his things, locked the door and went downstairs to pick up Lu Qingyan.

"Auntie, we bought so many things. If someone asks us something, just say we bought seasonings. Try to come back at night when you go shopping for food tomorrow, otherwise I'm afraid people will gossip about you." Lu Qingyan looked at the people in front of them who were pointing fingers at them and whispered

"You don't need to tell me this. I've been around for many more years than you have." Aunt Wu said with a smile when she saw Lu Qingyan's expression.

"Uh, that's right." Lu Qingyan touched her head awkwardly and said

"Sister Wu, what did you buy? Bag after bag!" Aunt Liu looked at Mrs. Wu carrying another sack and couldn't help asking curiously.

"I just bought some seasonings and dried vegetables. Captain Gu's wife just arrived and the family is short of everything. There is no oil, salt, sauce or vinegar for cooking. And we can't get them all, so we put them in a sack." Aunt Wu answered casually and took Lu Qingyan upstairs.

"Just say you're a spendthrift. What excuses are you looking for? Have you ever seen anyone use sacks to pack shopping? You're a spendthrift old woman." Aunt Liu looked at the two of them going upstairs, spitted, and said with a curled lip.

"They just moved in, so it's normal for them to be missing some things. Have you forgotten when you first moved in?" Aunt Wei frowned as she looked at Liu Damei.

"Well, I didn't buy so many things like her, and there's old Mrs. Wu..." Aunt Liu said halfway through her words, and when she saw Mrs. Wu coming out, she swallowed her words immediately.

"What's wrong with me? Tell me." Aunt Wu crossed her arms and looked at the silent man, sneering.

"I say you are really kind-hearted. Captain Gu's wife has only been here for a few days, and you are already helping her carry things." Aunt Liu said with a rolling eye.

"I like Qingyan. She's fair-skinned and nice-speaking. She's nothing like some girls in other families." Aunt Wu glanced at the scheming person and went upstairs.

"She, she..." Aunt Liu knew that they were talking about her daughter, and her fingers trembled with anger.

When the people nearby saw this, they quickly stood up and said a few words, then carried their stools and went back home.

Lu Qingyan heard the noise downstairs, went into the house, opened the window and looked down, but there was no one there, so she turned around to pack the things in the sack.
