Chapter 1 She is really a vixen!

"She's Jiang Mingxin? She's so pretty, even prettier than the stars in the China Film magazine!"

"Of course not. Not only is she having a hot affair with the men at the supply and marketing cooperative, she also has a brother-in-law who works at the grain station. She may not be well educated, but she's a top-notch picker when it comes to men!"

"What is she doing in our military compound?"

"You probably don't know this. I heard that she's having an affair with Gu Mingfeng."

"That's impossible. Didn't Gu Mingfeng get engaged to Bai Ruoxi last month?"

"Oh, so what if she's engaged? People like her are shameless!"

The sun is scorching in Licheng in July.

The person who was being ridiculed was now standing upright in front of the compound gate.

A snow-white dacron shirt wrapped around her thin body, and a black plaid skirt that was washed to a pale color was tied at her waist with a red ribbon.

The exposed neck is snow-white, like a white rose covered with dew, sweet and elegant; it is also like the sweet white porcelain in the Cultural Relics Bureau, pretty.

A man passed by on a 28-inch bicycle and turned around suddenly in amazement.

The female comrade traveling with him immediately spat in disdain: "What a vixen!"

"Uncle Security, I really have something important to discuss with Director Bai. Could you please make some allowance?"

Jiang Mingxin stood in front of the guardhouse and pleaded in a low voice.

The security guard glanced at her with disdain and sneered, "You don't have a pass, and you're not a military dependent. How can I let you in?"

"But I do have something urgent..."

"Get out of here! If you don't leave I'll call for help!"

Jiang Mingxin pursed her lips slightly, and her pink lips suddenly turned a little white, but after a while, they became beautiful again like a crabapple after the rain.

She walked silently to a magnolia tree and clenched the bag of her canvas backpack.

The fuzzy hair on his forehead was wet with sweat, and he looked disheveled, but because of the reflection of the sweat beads, he was covered with a layer of soft light.

Soon, a military vehicle drove over from under the sycamore tree, squeaked, and stopped outside the gate of the compound.

A tall and straight figure appeared in front of her.

"Why are you here? Are you here to help your father borrow money to pay off his gambling debts again?"

Jiang Mingxin raised his head, his eyes calm and peaceful.

"no."

A hint of impatience appeared on Gu Mingfeng's handsome face.

"Jiang Mingxin, I told you very clearly last time, don't..."

Jiang Mingxin nodded slightly, "Don't worry, I'm not here to look for you, nor am I here to look for Ruoxi."

Gu Mingfeng didn't believe it. He glanced at her bulging schoolbag and sneered jokingly, "Are you here to bring me food again?"

Jiang Mingxin ignored him and moved to the side. His clear black pupils passed directly over him and looked intently at the intersection.

Gu Mingfeng frowned.

"Jiang Mingxin, how many times do I have to tell you? This is boring..."

"Director Bai!"

Suddenly, Jiang Mingxin's narrow and long phoenix eyes lit up and he rushed straight forward.

Gu Mingfeng was startled and turned around to catch her.

Is she crazy? She even dares to stop Director Bai's car?

"Director Bai, I have something very important to tell you!"

Jiang Mingxin opened his arms to block the car, and the driver hurriedly stepped on the brakes and almost hit it.

"Nonsense! Do you know how dangerous this is?"

Director Bai rolled down the car window angrily, and when he saw that it was her, he narrowed his eyes vigilantly.

He looked over her shoulder and found that Gu Mingfeng was also here. A look of disgust instantly appeared on his tired face.

"What are you doing here?"

Jiang Mingxin walked over with a frank expression, "Director Bai, I'm here to surrender on behalf of my father."

As soon as these words were spoken, all the onlookers were stunned.

Jiang Mingxin quickly opened the canvas schoolbag, took out two porcelain cups wrapped in layers of wax paper, and handed them to him.

"I found this in the firewood pile at home. He has hidden unearthed cultural relics more than once. I surrendered myself on his behalf. I hope the government will show leniency in view of our voluntary confession."

After saying that, he bent down ninety degrees and bowed respectfully to him.

Director Bai was shocked and his heart was beating fast.

Last year (1987), the State Council issued a special notice to resolutely crack down on smuggling crimes. There were also tomb-robbing gangs near the city, but they had never been caught.

Who would have thought that Jiang Mingxin's father was actually a tomb robber?

"Are you sure this is an unearthed cultural relic?" Director Bai opened the wax paper and looked at the two porcelain cups doubtfully.

Jiang Mingxin's tone was very confident. "Yes, this is a pair of Ming Dynasty Doucai disc-patterned cups. They have wide mouths, sloping walls, and low ring feet. The inner lining is plain, and the outer wall of the ring foot has two blue and white string patterns. The outer wall is glazed all over, and painted with two groups of flowers, butterflies and lake stones. The base is brown, and the purple dots are used to make the butterfly wings lifelike."

"The greatest characteristic of Chenghua Doucai porcelain is its pure white, delicate texture. It is so light and transparent that you can even see your finger in the sunlight. If you don't believe me, pick them up and hold them up to the sunlight."

Director Bai was confused.

How come these words are more professional than those of the appraisers from the Cultural Relics Bureau?

He did as she said and found that what she said was actually true. His expression suddenly became a little complicated.

"Thank you for sending them. I'll go to the Cultural Relics Bureau right away."

"Then what I just said..."

"If these are truly unearthed cultural relics, your father will definitely be imprisoned. However, if he can voluntarily hand over all the stolen cultural relics, there is hope for a reduced sentence."

"That's great, thank you!" Jiang Mingxin bowed to him respectfully again.

Director Bai smiled awkwardly and raised his hand: "Good boy, hurry home and be careful on the road."
