Before coming, Jiang Mingxin was still nervous.
I am worried that the conditions at the Anti-Smuggling Bureau are not good and I will not be comfortable living there.
As a result, when I got off the car, I saw two brand new five-story dormitories, straight roads, lush camphor trees, a spacious basketball court, and a small square for hanging clothes. My worries were instantly reduced by half.
These days few people think about the supporting facilities in a residential area, but the Anti-Smuggling Bureau did, and the quality of life is obviously better than that in other units’ dormitories.
Xing Haodong took Jiang Mingxin into one of the buildings.
Because he had considered from the beginning that she would come over, he applied for a house with the best orientation, two bedrooms and a living room, which would be spacious enough for them to live in even if they had children in the future.
The house was cleaned before the wedding, and the furniture was made by a local old carpenter. Knowing that Jiang Mingxin liked old mahogany, all the furniture here was made of this material.
Jiang Mingxin put down the things in her hands and walked around the house. She felt that it was much better than she had imagined. Although it did not have the low-key luxury of a courtyard house, it was clean and simple, and it was also very comfortable to look at.
The living room is fully equipped with a sofa, coffee table, dining table, chairs and kitchen cabinets.
The kitchen is a bit simple, with tiled countertops and walls. There is no range hood, only an exhaust fan, but there is a gas stove. However, for a company dormitory, it is already very good.
At most, in three or four years, Xing Haodong's position will have to move and he will not live here forever.
After filling a pot of water and boiling it on the gas stove, Jiang Mingxin went to the bedroom to check again.
There is a two-meter large wooden bed, a spacious wardrobe, and even a dressing table and bedside table.
What surprised her was that there was an indoor bathroom. It was not only big, but also had a bathtub. It was obvious that it was not a standard dormitory feature. Could it be that Xing Haodong paid for it himself?
As a grown man, he obviously couldn't use a bathtub, so it was specially prepared for her.
As a southerner at heart, Jiang Mingxin naturally prefers a private bathroom to a large bathhouse. Knowing that she doesn't have to take a bath naked with other sisters-in-law, she happily ran out and hung on Xing Haodong's back.
"Honey, how do you know I like taking a bath?"
Xing Haodong touched his nose. "You always read those Hong Kong magazines and drool over other people's bathtubs. Since there's enough space, I'll install one for you. From now on, you can take a bath at home, so you don't have to go out and compete with other people's wives..."
"Well, and it's convenient to do anything at home."
Jiang Mingxin pulled up his red ears and narrowed his eyes. "Director Xing, you're not thinking about anything inappropriate for children, are you? Tsk tsk tsk, it's not even dark yet."
Xing Haodong reached out and lifted her thigh, then rocked her onto his back. "Have you seen the balcony? It's quite spacious. Wouldn't you like to plant some flowers and plants? I can buy a few pots tomorrow."
He carried Jiang Mingxin to the balcony and walked around the living room several times, not feeling tired at all.
"Take a look at what you need at home, and I'll drive you to the department store to buy some!"
Jiang Mingxin hooked her arm around his neck and lay on his broad back, feeling a little sleepy. "It's so comfortable. How about we sleep for a while before going?"
"It's already four o'clock in the afternoon. If you sleep, you'll miss dinner. If you're sleepy, let's go to bed early after dinner."
Xing Haodong put her down and touched his forehead. "Did you get heatstroke because the weather is too hot?"
Jiang Mingxin had just stood up when she tilted her head and leaned on his shoulder. "It shouldn't be. It's just that the weather is hot and I get sleepy easily."
After saying that, she yawned again.
Seeing how sleepy she was, Xing Haodong quickly made the bed, cleaned the straw mat, and spread it over her. "Then you sleep at home. I'll go out and buy some things."
Jiang Mingxin curled the corners of her mouth, put her arms around his waist, and rubbed her face against his chin, like a lazy kitten.
"Hubby, you are so nice. I love you the most!"
Xing Haodong couldn't stand her acting coquettishly to him the most. When she acted coquettishly, he wanted to give her his heart.
There were pots and pans in the house, but no fresh vegetables, fish, meat, eggs, milk or seasonings. Before Jiang Mingxin came, he had never cooked at home. In order to save trouble, he usually ate in the company cafeteria and then came back.
To him, this place is no different from a temporary hotel.
But after Jiang Mingxin came, he felt at home. He made a list of the things he wanted to buy, put it in his pocket, waited for the water to boil, poured it into the thermos, and immediately drove straight to the vegetable market.
I also went to the department store and bought new slippers, a new bath towel and a bow hairband for Jiang Mingxin.
When he was packing his suitcase just now, he found that Jiang Mingxin had forgotten to bring these things, so he simply bought all new ones.
On the way back, I met an old lady selling jasmine flowers. I stopped by the roadside and bought two bunches.
Jiang Mingxin had just woken up when she smelled a fresh floral scent. Following the scent, she found a pair of jasmine bracelets on her wrists, and the corners of her mouth instantly curled up.
She looked at her watch and saw it was already half past six in the evening, so she quickly got up and went into the kitchen.
"Husband, tonight we..."
Before he could finish his words, a plump white dumpling was stuffed into his mouth.
Xing Haodong lifted her bangs and tucked them back. "Did you sleep well? How was it? Did it smell good?"
Jiang Mingxin nodded hurriedly, walked over and hugged his waist, snuggling into his arms, "Not only is it okay, it's absolutely delicious! You kneaded the dough and rolled the dough by yourself? Why didn't you wake me up?"
Xing Haodong was reluctant to call her. When he came back, he found that she was sleeping very soundly with her little face flushed. He went to the kitchen to knead the dough, chop the meat, and mix the stuffing. After all, he had done it alone before.
