Chapter 51 Xing Haodong, you bastard, let me go!

Xing Haodong's face turned pale, he gripped the steering wheel tightly, and didn't speak for a long time.

Jiang Mingxin stared at him stubbornly through the rearview mirror, his eyes filled with anger.

Jiang Bin covered his face with his hands, looked left and right, and for a moment he didn't know how to save the situation.

Suddenly, Jiang Mingxin opened the car door and jumped out.

"Hey, why did you get out of the car? It's out in the wilderness, something could happen!" Jiang Bin slapped Xing Haodong hard, "Why don't you just chase him?"

Xing Haodong looked stunned and immediately opened the car door and jumped out.

Jiang Bin was extremely helpless. "It's really amazing! Why do they all have worse tempers than the other?"

He wordlessly unbuckled his seatbelt and moved to the driver's seat.

"Jiang Mingxin, stop right there! I just said a few extra words, why are you so angry?" Xing Haodong raised his foot and ran a few steps to catch up with her.

He tried to pull her wrist, but was pushed away.

"Xing Haodong, I know you're very sad and heartbroken because of the death of your old squad leader. But you can't slander a woman just because you're sad and heartbroken! Do you understand Zhou Suyun? Do you know what kind of woman she is?"

"I bet you don't even know what she looks like, let alone how many people are in her family or how she makes a living. Based solely on hearsay, you're convinced she's scorned by the poor and abandoned the old squad leader. How is your behavior any different from those bastards who insulted me without any basis?"

Jiang Mingxin was panting, his eyes were sharp and his face was full of anger.

She pointed at Xing Haodong's nose and scolded him mercilessly: "I thought you were different from those men. At least you respect facts, always pay attention to evidence, and pursue justice and strictness. But now I understand that all crows are black, and there is no good man. You are no different from them!"

After she finished speaking, she turned around and tried to move forward, but Xing Haodong hugged her from behind.

"What are you doing? Xing Haodong, you bastard, let me go, let me go!"

No matter how she struggled and kicked, Xing Haodong refused to let go.

"Jiang Mingxin, I apologize. What I said just now was wrong, and you're right to be angry, but can we get back to the car first? It's already four in the morning, and we don't know what's out there in the wilderness. If we run into wild boars or wolves, we'll all be stuck here."

Jiang Mingxin was stunned for a moment, but she quickly bent down and twisted, using gravity to stomp her feet hard, breaking free from Xing Haodong's restraints.

"Don't scare me. Even if there are wild boars and wolves, you have a gun. Would you be afraid of them?"

Xing Haodong endured the pain in his right foot and sighed, "I'm not afraid, but I'm afraid you'll get hurt. Be obedient, let's get back to the car first, and you can scold me however you want."

"Hmph, you're really shameless, begging me to scold you?" Jiang Mingxin retorted unscrupulously, but his chest still felt very stuffy.

But she really shouldn't be impulsive at this time. Being alone in a place like this, it's hard to say what she might encounter.

She turned around and went back to the car, but Xing Haodong didn't get in the passenger seat, but sat with her.

"Are you sick? There's a place up front where you can sit. Why don't you sit?" Jiang Mingxin was still angry, and his tone was extremely aggressive.

Xing Haodong moved his butt awkwardly and asked Jiang Bin to drive immediately. After a while, he reorganized his words and apologized to her.

"I'm sorry, I just spoke without thinking."

Jiang Mingxin shrugged and sneered, "Brother Dong, you're too polite. How can we women possibly understand how hard it is to be a soldier? You're right. Women can just find any man to marry, but you have to defend your country and take care of everyone else but your own family. What's wrong with a soldier's partner suffering in the rear? Isn't that right? How can I comment on what you say?"

Xing Haodong's face turned pale and blue for a moment. "Mingxin, I sincerely apologize to you. What I said just now was not directed at you."

"Oh—that's not directed at me, that's directed at Zhou Suyun?" Jiang Ming's face was chilling, and his voice became even colder and harder: "The fact that you can blurt out such words shows that you've been thinking that for a long time. You are indignant about the sacrifice of the old squad leader, but does that mean Zhou Suyun must bear the responsibility?"

"Do you think it's easy for a woman to live a good life? Zhou Suyun is beautiful, but her father and brother died long ago, leaving only her elderly mother at home. She has to work on the farm, take care of her mother, and deal with the harassment from lustful men in and outside the village at any time. You can't imagine how difficult her life is!"

Hearing this, Xing Haodong was completely stunned.

He had indeed never thought about this before.

Jiang Mingxin took a breath and continued, "I should do what I promised. But if you look down on women from the bottom of your heart and think that a woman who leaves a man is selfish and is just trying to climb up the social ladder and seek wealth, then I'm sorry I can't tell you her whereabouts. Because your appearance will inevitably bring her more serious harm, and as a woman, I can't do that."

Xing Haodong fell into a long silence.

He hesitated to speak several times, wanting to explain to Jiang Mingxin that he did not look down on women.

But when he thought about what he had just said, he really couldn't speak.

The atmosphere in the car dropped to freezing point at one point, and even though Jiang Bin tried hard to tell a few jokes to liven up the atmosphere, it failed to warm up.

An invisible boundary seemed to be drawn between Jiang Mingxin and Xing Haodong, dividing them into two worlds.

It was past five o'clock and the sky was already getting light.

Jiang Mingxin felt very sleepy, so he leaned against the window and dozed off for a while. When he opened his eyes again, he had already arrived in the city.

Jiang Bin stopped in front of a breakfast stall and bought three bowls of cold noodles.
