"You said someone confessed?"
Jiang Ming raised his head in panic, but accidentally hit his head on the roof of the car.
Xing Haodong nervously reached out and touched the top of her head, "Are you okay?"
"It's okay, it's okay. So what's going on? Is Zhou Jing desperate, so he's looking for someone to take the blame for him?" Jiang Mingxin guessed.
Xing Haodong nodded silently, his eyes were dark circles and he was in a low mood, as if he had not slept all night.
Jiang Mingxin immediately realized something, "This person...could it be someone you know?"
Xing Haodong sighed immediately, "You really can't hide anything from me. The person who came forward to confess was a police officer, a former comrade of mine. Due to family reasons, he retired a few years ago and has been a small-time police officer ever since. I even gave him some money a few days ago because his mother was ill."
"I didn't expect him to actually step forward and take the blame for Zhou Jing. I interrogated him all night last night, and he admitted to arson against Han Hong Noodle House along with the two thugs in front of Zhenbaozhai."
Jiang Mingxin frowned and asked, "So those two thugs also admitted it?"
"Yes, their stories are consistent. Furthermore, he was the one I commissioned to patrol near the Han Hong Noodle House a while ago. He logically explained his actions as surveillance and reconnaissance. He even produced evidence, claiming he had a personal grudge against Sister Hong and was involved in the burning of her mother!"
Xing Haodong closed his eyes and shook his head. "I really can't understand why the man of integrity in the past has become Zhou Jing's lackey?"
He clenched his fists and pounded them on the steering wheel again and again.
His former comrade-in-arms became an arsonist, and he felt as if he had been betrayed by a companion.
"Maybe it's because of life's pressure." Jiang Mingxin sighed, leaned over, and patted the back of his hand. "But he chose the path he wanted. Since he made the choice, he should have anticipated the consequences today."
Xing Haodong stared blankly at the crowd outside the window and fell into a long silence.
Jiang Mingxin stayed with him for as long as he sat in the car.
It was not until the sun went down that he gradually came to his senses and sent Jiang Mingxin back to the dormitory of the machinery factory.
As luck would have it, the rat in the gutter saw it again.
"Who did you say you saw?"
Bai Ruoxi received a call from Wang Bing and was skeptical about what he said.
Wang Bing glanced at Wang Jue who was eating in the living room and lowered his voice, "I promise I'm not mistaken. Jiang Mingxin is indeed attending No. 1 Middle School, and she's picked up by a man every day after school. It's Brother Dong who showed up at Director Bai's engagement party."
"Humph, no wonder he was so protective of Jiang Mingxin back then, they must have been having an affair for a long time!"
Bai Ruoxi immediately retorted: "That's impossible!"
Wang Bing was shocked by her reaction. "Why not? Jiang Mingxin is the best at hooking up with men. If it weren't for her, you wouldn't have suffered so much. It was clearly his and Gu Mingfeng's fault, but in the end, you and Director Bai were the ones who lost face. She still hasn't apologized to you."
Bai Ruoxi's voice suddenly dropped several degrees: "After all, she has a miserable life and is all alone... As the director's daughter, I can't possibly argue with a country girl like her."
To this day, only Xing Haodong, Gu Wei, and the other male guests knew exactly what Gu Mingfeng had done. Bai Ruoxi couldn't tell anyone about it; Bai Dingxian and Gu's parents had kept it a secret, so none of her classmates, including Wang Bing, knew what had happened.
Out of trust in Bai Ruoxi, they always thought that it was Jiang Mingxin who provoked Gu Mingfeng and brought him to her, which caused the dispute.
Bai Ruoxi has been in contact with Wang Bing frequently recently, hoping that he will continue to be her pawn.
"Brother Dong is a young man from a wealthy family in the Forbidden City. How could he possibly like Jiang Mingxin? You must have seen it wrong."
Bai Ruoxi didn't know if she was trying to convince the other person or herself, "It's not surprising that she transferred to No. 1 Middle School. It must have been my dad's arrangement to thank her for reporting the tomb robbers. And what about her seducing your brother?"
Wang Bing scoffed. "How could a country girl like her possibly catch up with the progress of our No. 1 Middle School? She's only at the bottom of Class 7, and coincidentally, she sits at the same table with my cousin. That boy has never been a student, and today he actually came to me with a textbook to ask questions. I was curious and asked a few more questions, and guess what he said? Jiang Mingxin asked him to do it, and if he doesn't finish it, he'll be in trouble tomorrow."
"That little bitch must have seduced my brother. Otherwise, how could he be so obedient? Ruoxi, you're too naive. You must be on guard against this vixen. Otherwise, what if she seduces your two brothers and breaks into your house? What will we do then?"
Of course not!
Bai Ruoxi's heart suddenly started to ring with alarm bells. She stopped taking care of her illness and started to get up and look for her school uniform and schoolbag. She immediately called her head teacher and told him that she wanted to cancel her leave and return to school tomorrow.

As soon as Jiang Mingxin walked into the classroom, Wang Jue followed in.
I was stunned to see that she had come so early.
"What are you doing standing there? Where's your math homework from yesterday? Have you finished it?" She raised her hand and knocked on the table. "Bring it here and let me see it."
Wang Jue was so upset that he wanted to cry, and now he couldn't copy the homework either. He could only bite the bullet and take out the homework book and put it in her hand.
"Just to be clear, I've written everything, but I don't know the answers to a lot of the questions... so I'll just leave them blank."
Jiang Mingxin flipped through his homework book expressionlessly, then suddenly took out a ruler from his pencil case and waved it in front of him.
