Chapter 74 I Carry You?

Jiang Mingxin pulled his ear hard.

Either her ears were broken, or Xing Haodong was drunk, otherwise how could she hear him say such shameless words.

And he was so righteous and confident, without changing his expression!

"Jiang Bin can stay with Jiang Rou, but I don't know anyone here and don't even have any relatives. The organization's funding is limited, so I have to find a way on my own. If you don't help me, I'll have to sleep on the street."

"Besides, I've made my way to Aunt Hu's place. Living there, even if the neighbors see me, I don't have to explain anything. As for the food expenses, I can help you with the housework. I can light the fire, cook, mop the floor, and do the laundry. You saw that day that I cook pretty well. Just consider it your support for my work to eliminate this evil and take me in for a few months."

Jiang Mingxin was speechless. What does it mean to shoot oneself in the foot?

She is living proof.

Xing Haodong had blocked her from speaking, so how could she refuse?

She dragged Xing Haodong out and pushed him into a corner.

"Are you kidding me? You're going to live with me? For how many months?"

Xing Haodong's expression was both serious and earnest. "Well, I've made up my mind. I'll cancel my room at the guesthouse and stay at your house for a few months as your elder brother. Not only because I'm short of money, but also because it will make it easier to conceal my tracks, lower Zhou Jing's vigilance, and avoid Zhou Kui's suspicion."

"It just so happens that I have an appointment with Bai Dingxian tomorrow. At that time, at the dinner table, I will announce that I am returning to Beijing. I will completely disappear from Licheng and go from open to covert. When Zhou Kui knows I'm leaving, he will naturally not be as cautious as before, and it will be easier for him to reveal his true colors."

"If there's a need to investigate the case, I'll try to go out at night. If Aunt Hu asks me about it, I'll say I was accidentally injured at work a few days ago and need to stay home to recover."

His words were logically clear and well-reasoned, and Jiang Mingxin couldn't help but wonder if he was worrying too much.

After all, no matter how you look at it, Xing Haodong doesn't seem like someone who would abuse his power for personal gain.

At this moment, something suddenly fell to the ground.

It turned out that during the pushing and jostle, the photo in Xing Haodong's trouser pocket was squeezed out.

Looking down, a smiling face instantly caught Jiang Mingxin's eye.

That was the photo of her leaning against the window with her brightest smile.

Time seemed to suddenly stop, causing her heartbeat to freeze for half a second.

Xing Haodong immediately picked up the photo, hesitated for a moment, and then said, "I admit that I do have feelings for you that go beyond friendship, but until you show any affection towards me, I will abide by etiquette and keep a proper distance from you. I won't take advantage of the fact that we live under the same roof to do anything bad to you."

Jiang Mingxin sneered softly, "Men's words are deceitful."

Xing Haodong put his hand on his chest and said, "I swear on my medal, Comrade Jiang Mingxin, please believe me."

Now she had no choice but to agree.

"Okay, I'll trust you for once. So when are you going to...move in?"

Xing Haodong thought for a moment and said, "Let's go tomorrow night. Don't worry about anything. I don't have much luggage, so I'll bring my own towels, toothbrushes, and other things."

Jiang Mingxin took a deep breath, but his heart rate still did not slow down.

She always felt that something was not right, but because she was in Zhou Kui's territory, she didn't say anything more.

Soon, the masked man counted the money, asked someone to pack the Ming Chenghua blue and white rectangular flowerpot, and asked them if they wanted it to be sent to the car.

Xing Haodong nodded: "Of course."

Several waiters immediately picked up the flower pots and walked out with them. After a few steps, Jiang Mingxin suddenly tripped over something and fell into Xing Haodong's arms.

Xing Haodong took advantage of the situation and put his arm around her waist, supporting her body as she suddenly leaned forward. "Are you okay?"

Jiang Mingxin's hand happened to be pressing on his tight and strong chest muscles. It was hard to tell who was taking advantage of whom, so he just touched him twice secretly and then stood up.

The masked man's expression suddenly turned cold, and he shouted angrily to the person behind him, "Who told you to dump the porcelain shards here? Can you afford to let such a distinguished guest fall?"

After he finished his outburst, he said to Xing Haodong, "I'm so sorry, is everything alright, Madam Huang?"

Jiang Mingxin opened her red lips and said, "These porcelain pieces almost made me fall down. Husband, pack them up. I want to take them back and smash them all into powder!"

As he spoke, he gently bumped into Xing Haodong's shoulder.

Xing Haodong understood what he meant and pretended to be angry, insisting on taking the pile of porcelain pieces away.

The masked man frowned, obviously reluctant.

"Although these blue and white porcelain pieces are fragments, they can be sold if we find a cultural relic restorer. Boss Huang is being too overbearing by asking for them."

Xing Haodong taunted, "I just spent a fortune here, and you guys can't even bear to part with a pile of porcelain pieces. I guess there's no need to come again next time."

Hearing him say this, the masked man immediately changed his tone: "Since Madam Huang likes it, then let's consider it as a meeting gift for Madam."

After saying that, he told his younger brother to bring a snakeskin bag and put all the porcelain pieces in it.

Xing Haodong pressed his lips against Jiang Mingxin's earlobe: "Are there treasures... in these porcelain pieces?"

Jiang Mingxin didn't say anything, just glanced at him coquettishly.

Not long after, the two of them successfully left the Feihuang Ballroom carrying a rectangular flower pot and a bag of porcelain pieces.

In the car, she put on gloves and rummaged through the snakeskin bag for a long time. She took out a gold nugget as big as her little finger from the bottom of a porcelain piece and threw it into Xing Haodong's palm.

"Hey, isn't this a treasure?"
