Chapter 40: There is trouble again at the entrance of the chemical plant

In that era, environmental management was not very strict, and many factories would discharge pollutants secretly. If the public did not protest strongly, the higher authorities would turn a blind eye. Revitalizing the economy was the top priority.

What they are afraid of is reports from the masses. Regardless of whether the situation is true or not, the factory will be shut down for rectification.

Once the coke oven in a chemical plant starts burning, it cannot be stopped. When encountering such a thing, the factory leaders have to passively make various arrangements, which not only makes them lose face but also causes huge losses.

Besides, if such a thing were to be reported to the main factory, Li Weimin and other leaders would inevitably be punished.

Ordinary employees would just vent their anger and confront the troublemakers, but Sun Xueyi could not do that.

He suppressed his anger and negotiated with Hu Zi:

"You can ask everyone to go home for the holidays, and everything else will be easy to deal with. Let's go to the office to discuss it."

Hu Zi was waiting for these words. He snapped his fingers and called up all the people lying on the ground, making way for them.

After all the employees had ridden away on their bikes, Hu Zi swaggered into Sun Xueyi's office.

It was Hu Zi's first time to enter the office of a state-owned enterprise. He cursed in his heart, saying that state-owned enterprises are rich and even the sofas are made of mahogany.

When Jian Xiaoxing poured him some tea, he commented on the tea leaves again and concluded in his mind, "So all they do when they go to work is sit in the office and drink tea!"

So, when Sun Xueyi, at the instruction of Li Weimin, handed him an agreement to pay them 2,000 yuan per year, he felt that the mere 2,000 yuan was just a drop in the bucket for this factory.

As long as you don't cause trouble, you will get money every year. Everyone who hears about this deal will say it's a good deal.

Hu Zi signed his name on the agreement without hesitation.

Sun Xueyi reminded him that if he didn't write his full name, he would not be responsible if the factory leadership changed and he didn't recognize it.

He then signed his name, Jiang Hu, and put his fingerprints on it.

Sun Xueyi took the agreement in one hand and handed him a thick stack of Great Unity certificates in the other.

Hu Zi took the money and left humming a little tune. Sun Xueyi went to Li Weimin to report on his work.

Jian Xiaoxing raised her hand to check the time. It was five o'clock. She could finally get off work with ease.

Just as she packed up her desk, put on her bag and prepared to leave, Sun Xueyi came back and called her.

"Work overtime tomorrow and accompany me to the fishing island."
