Chapter 137 Repairing the Machine

Wang Ping's eyes widened at first, and he burst into laughter. Then, pointing his finger at the other person, he leaned forward with a mocking smile on his face, spewing out scathing remarks: "Oh, your skills aren't good enough! Do you think this is just a child's play? With your limited skills, you'd better stop embarrassing yourself! Give your place to someone more capable!"

Although she didn't say who was capable, everyone knew it. They had no interest in the work at hand and stared at the machine with concern. This machine cost at least several hundred dollars, and they couldn't afford the compensation even if they sold the village. How could they not be anxious?

Everyone held their breath and looked at Tian Xiaolan. Tian Xiaolan was forced to calm herself down by the gaze, not wanting to be at a loss because of anxiety. If there was no problem with the machine, then it must be an external factor. She had not looked ahead carefully just now.

Tian Xiaolan went to the front and saw that there seemed to be something very wrong with the drum. Wang Ping just said that just to put the blame on her. She was the one who rushed to stuff the rice in and shouted to change positions without asking. She didn't work carefully at all. Tian Xiaolan didn't believe that she would be so kind as to hand over the rice. There must be other problems. Sure enough, the machine broke down just after it was on track. Now she was putting the blame on her. There must be someone behind her who was plotting against her, which she couldn't figure out.

In this case, she couldn't just go along with their wishes, nor did she prove herself: "I saw you talking to someone about deliberately destroying the machine! I even gave you money, you're not a spy, are you?"

Wang Ping didn't expect her to ignore him, so she insisted it was her fault. "We couldn't see what you were doing up there, so how could we know if you were working?"

"That's right, she must be playing around on it, otherwise how could the machine have problems!" When the others heard Wang Ping say this, they also started to criticize Tian Xiaolan.

Liu Suzhen looked at the crowd surrounding Tian Xiaolan. They were so grown-up, yet they knew how to bully a little girl. "Maybe it wasn't Xiaolan, it was this machine that had a problem! How can you be so sure? Aren't you afraid of taking responsibility?"

"Sister, I don't think you meant it, but she has tried very hard. Please don't be angry, okay?" Tian Xiaotong's voice was very soft, like a falling feather, tears flashed in her eyes, as if she would cry at any time.

"It's not your fault. You're just too kind. Don't worry about this."

Liu Suzhen could tell what kind of person Tian Xiaotong was at a glance. By saying this, she directly concluded that the machine was broken by Tian Xiaolan. How could they, as outsiders, possibly know what was going on? She understood.

"You've all separated, she's not your sister, don't yell at her!"

"Sister, even though we've separated, I still think of you as my sister in my heart, and I want to help you."

Tian Xiaolan spread out one hand and asked her to come, "If you can do it, come and see!"

She had just seen where the problem was, and she wanted to see if she could fix it.

Everyone's eyes suddenly focused on him, followed by a burst of agreement. Tian Xiaotong was elected to repair the tractor without knowing why.

Tian Xiaotong stood in front of the tractor, her whole body like being struck by a sudden lightning bolt. She froze in place, her eyes wide open. She just wanted to express her opinion and didn't intend to actually repair it! Only one thought kept echoing in her mind: "Me? Repair the tractor? Can I?"

Tian Xiaolan: "Yes, it's you. Don't you want to help me? Let's start!"

She wanted to retreat but unexpectedly Wang Ping called her out from the crowd to show them her skills quickly and show them her strength!

Wang Ping was so excited in the crowd. She was the first one to go up and push her to fix the machine. If she could fix the machine, wouldn't it prove that Tian Xiaolan's skills were not good enough? The boss could then replace her daughter with someone with better skills to operate the machine!

Even if she had missed the chance to drive a tractor by accident in her previous life, how could she possibly repair a tractor? She only had some vague concepts in her mind, and she didn't know if she could do it.

It was okay to just take a look, so she walked around the harvester and looked at it. She turned around several times and sweat broke out on her head. She looked from bottom to top and from outside to inside, but she couldn't see any problems. However, she couldn't show it on her face. After all, even Tian Xiaolan didn't notice the problem. If she could see it, it would mean that she was better than her.

I wanted to say no, but as soon as I met my mother's eyes, I knew what she wanted me to do. I was very hesitant, but I still said what I was thinking: "I can see that, it must be the engine that's broken."

She remembered that the engine was very important in the book, and she was very sure that it was it and nothing else could be done.

Tian Xiaolan: "Are you sure?"

"Or tell me where it is!" Tian Xiaotong didn't believe her. How could she, who had never been to school, pass the exam and operate this machine? It must be because the machine is very simple and she can do it even if she goes to school.

"I said that this roller is stuck!" Tian Xiaolan pointed at the roller that was not rotating and said with certainty, if it was the engine, how could the machine still be moving.

Tian Xiaotong didn't look at that place carefully. She didn't think there was anything wrong there. After all, black smoke was coming out, so it must be the engine. Otherwise, she couldn't think of where else such a big problem could occur.

"Then you fix it first!" Tian Xiaolan climbed into the car, turned off the switch, handed her the screwdriver in the car, and waited for her to fix it.

Tian Xiaotong was tinkering with it below, carefully disassembling each component for inspection. The screws were unscrewed one by one, and the parts were neatly placed aside. She found that everything inside seemed to be good and the belt was not loose. She looked for it in disbelief and found that there was an extra screw.

She took out the screw and slowly put the things back in place, becoming more determined in her decision.

"Try to start it." Now she was sure that it could start again. It must have been stuck just now.

Seeing that she was so confident, Tian Xiaolan turned on the machine without saying anything more. There were so many eyes watching, and they could all see whether the repair was done well or not.

The machine still made a violent roar when it started up, as if something was strangling its throat and it remained motionless.

This shouldn’t be the case! She had clearly taken the things out! How could this happen! It must be Tian Xiaolan. She couldn’t bear to see that she had repaired it, so she deliberately didn’t turn on the machine, just to embarrass her. Thinking of this, she wanted to try turning it on herself. If Tian Xiaolan could do it, she would also want to turn it on.

Tian Xiaolan put her feet on the car door and asked, "What are you doing up here?"

"I want to try and see if there is something wrong inside!" Tian Xiaotong looked up at Tian Xiaolan in the cab. Why did she sit there steadily looking down at them while she had to work with a hunched back?
