Chapter 21 Going Crazy

Lu Zhaodi was still shouting, "What are you doing? Tian Xiaolan, are you having a seizure?"

"Shut up!" Tian Xiaolan slapped the table, shaking it, and shouted angrily, "If you shout again, I'll kill you!"

Lu Zhaodi walked a few steps inside and said stubbornly, "I'm not afraid of you. If you dare to touch me, I will eat and sleep at your house."

"Really? Come here if you have the guts." The scissors were spinning rapidly on Tian Xiaolan's index finger, moving up and down with the force of her shaking fingers, as if they were going to slip away from her fingertips.

"Damn it! You bullied an old man today! You're going to kill someone tomorrow. Pay my child's medical expenses first." How could Lu Zhaodi do as she wished? She was not that stupid.

"I think you're so shameless that you're even more shameless than a hoe." Tian Xiaolan walked over, glanced at her face, and put the scissors to her neck. "You also said you're sick, so I won't hide it from everyone. I'm mentally ill, and killing people is not against the law."

Lu Zhaodi's heart trembled, and she didn't dare to confront Tian Xiaolan head-on. Her old bones would fall apart at the slightest touch, so she let Tian Xiaolan take Li Weiguo away.

"Lü Zhaodi, pay the money quickly. Do you still want your son's leg to be healed?" The doctor stood aside indifferently watching the verbal battle, and did not point out that a mentally ill person would be held responsible for killing someone.

Lu Zhaodi was so angry that her face turned red and her neck was thick, and she was muttering something under her breath.

He stared at them unwillingly as they walked away, then glanced at the still sleeping baby with tears in his eyes. He tore open the belt of his trousers with both hands, pulled up his underwear, and took out a bunch of wrapped banknotes from his square pocket.

Seeing her take off her pants, the doctor walked away, took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes.

Lu Zhaodi put her hand in her mouth to smear the saliva on it and counted the bills one by one. "How much is it?"

"50 cents."

"It's so expensive, and you, a black-hearted doctor, still run a clinic!" She suddenly walked to the door and waved her hand, sweeping the items on the table to the ground, her voice sharp and piercing.

The glass bottles that were swept away were scattered irregularly on the ground, and some small particles were shining, leaving almost no place to step.

"This is more than fifty cents, it's two dollars." The doctor put on his glasses expressionlessly and used a broom to sweep the sharp fragments on the ground into pieces.

"You mean two dollars? It's only fifty cents. Don't count it."

"Put the money on the table and take him back quickly." The doctor didn't even look at her.

Lu Zhaodi threw the money on the table from a distance and stuffed the remaining few bills back into her pants. "Where is the medicine you prescribed?"

The doctor laughed angrily: "50 cents is only enough to pay for the treatment of the injury, there is no medicine."

Lu Zhaodi sat down rudely on the only two chairs in the clinic, feeling so angry that she had no place to vent.

Tian Xiaolan, Li Weimin and others who had walked away were still discussing what had just happened.

Liu Yongqiang praised: "Xiaolan, I haven't seen you for a few days. How come you are so eloquent?"

"I learned from my uncle when I had nothing to do. I read it in a book."

"No wonder I don't have such a good mouth. When I was in school, I was always thinking about catching shrimps and taking bird eggs."

"Thank you for your compliment. You run fast." Tian Xiaolan looked at him and thanked him gently.

Liu Yongqiang waved his hand, "It can't be eaten."

Li Weimin walked alongside them, smiling proudly: "This is my sister, don't even think about it!"

After all, they were brothers who had grown up together, so how could he not see what he was thinking? He opened his mouth and said, "I didn't say anything."

"You'd better not think about anything."

Liu Yongqiang nodded his head like pounding garlic.

Not long after, they arrived at a fork in the road. After seeing Liu Yongqiang off, Tian Xiaolan saw a mother and daughter walking hurriedly towards them, supporting each other.

Liu Dongmei, who was sitting opposite them, saw the duo in front and narrowed her eyes to ask her daughter, "Is that Tian Xiaolan in front?"

"Mom, it's her."

"Aunt Dongmei? Why are you here?" Li Weimin asked stupidly.

"I……"

Seeing her mother's slow utterances, Liu Xiuer's eyes sparkled with tears, and she bit her lower lip, "Sister Xiaolan, I want to ask you for a favor, is that okay?"

Tian Xiaolan glanced at her, thought for two seconds, and nodded: "Tell me, what's the matter?"

"Wang Ergou drank too much today and came home to beat me and my mother. He bumped into the hot pot and said it was my mother's fault. Grandma said she would kill us. We really have nowhere to go. Can you help me?" Wang Xiuer spoke slowly and briefly explained what happened.

Wang Goudan usually likes to do petty thefts and always wants a second child, so people give him the nickname Wang Ergou.

She shrank her fist, looked at Xiu'er seriously, and spoke calmly with a girlish voice: "Faced with this paper tiger that looks strong but is actually not scary, we should pluck out all its claws and teeth and see how it flaunts its power... We must first protect our own personal safety, but I can't help you. The only ones who can help you are yourselves. Eat something tonight and cover your head with sleep. No one knows what will happen. What do you think?"

After hearing what Tian Xiaolan said, she said directly: "I understand, what you mean is..."

Before she could finish, Tian Xiaolan strode forward and covered her mouth to prevent her from saying anything strange.

"Heaven knows, earth knows, you know, and I know."

"Yeah." Xiu'er nodded before being released.

Tian Xiaolan retracted her hand and asked, "Brother, do you think my parents would agree if I invite Aunt Dongmei and Xiu'er to visit our house?"

Li Weimin's eyes narrowed into slits as he smiled and said without hesitation: "Of course, I agree with it wholeheartedly. Dad often praises Xiu'er at home and says he hasn't seen you for a long time." Although he didn't know what they were talking about just now, he was no longer sleepy when he mentioned this.

Looking at Xiu'er with her head down, the scattered light fell through the branches on the roadside and landed on her short black hair with a hint of yellow. Her almond eyes were slightly raised, and the blush on her oval face that had not yet faded was blown away by the wind, revealing a faint smile.

Liu Dongmei refused without hesitation: "No."

Xiu'er leaned close to Liu Dongmei's ear and whispered, "Mom, is there anyone else willing to take us in besides her?"

Indeed, except for Tian Xiaolan's family, everyone else in the village was waiting to laugh at her. Other people's families were her support, but she couldn't go back even if she had one.

She still had concerns: "If we go, we'll get her into trouble."

Tian Xiaolan stopped and said with a smile: "He doesn't have time to look for you now, he's still in the clinic."

Before he finished speaking, a surprised voice rang out, "How did you know?"

Tian Xiaolan saw Li Weimin smiling at Xiu'er with a worthless look on his face, "We just came back from the clinic. Let my brother tell you the specific reason."

Li Weimin was a little slow to react when his name was suddenly called: "Huh? Yes... yes, we saw him in the hospital."
