Chapter 5 Plan

Li Weimin was stunned for a moment, then raised his eyebrows: "You are really rude, sister."

Tian Xiaolan looked at him and said seriously: "Brother, I fell into the water yesterday. If it weren't for you, how could I wash the clothes? You are very important to our family."

Wei Min has always felt that his father did not pay much attention to him. He is not as smart as his younger brother, nor as worry-free as his younger sister. However, Tian Xiaolan's words gave him great confidence.

"Do you really think so? You're not lying to me, are you?" Li Weimin scratched the back of his head somewhat unnaturally, staring at Tian Xiaolan without blinking, waiting for her answer.

"Of course it's true. Do you think I'd ever lie to you, Brother Weimin?"

He thought so too. Although Tian Xiaolan was stupid in the past, she didn't do anything out of the ordinary. Besides, there was nothing he could deceive her about.

Li Weimin is the eldest in the family and needs to take care of the household chores. He is 25 years old this year. All the men of the same age as Li Weimin in the village have already married and had children. He is very envious, but he also knows that he is not good-looking and his family is not rich, so Li Weimin’s current goal is to make money and marry a wife.

"Think whatever you want." Li Weimin said as he picked up the bucket and ran to the kitchen. He was definitely not moved by these words, but he just couldn't bear to see a sickly person being exhausted. Yes, that's it.

Tian Xiaolan leaned close to his ear and whispered to him, giving him an example: "The famous writer Xun Ge'er once said that from ancient times to the present, every man who has been able to marry a wife has not achieved success by taking care of the small things at home. Even if you don't believe me, I have to believe him."

"Will it really work? But I look like this," a glimmer of hope appeared in Li Weiming's eyes, and he already agreed with her words in his heart.

"Not everyone looks at the face, and I think you're very manly! Sometimes inner beauty is a plus too."

To be honest, his face looks ordinary and he has a scruffy beard, but because he works in the fields all year round, you can see his solid muscles through his sweat shirt, which gives him a sense of strength.

Li Weimin frowned and took a deep breath. "That sounds nice, but do I really have to open my chest to show them my true feelings?"

Tian Xiaolan listened to Li Weimin's words after he had been holding it in for a long time, and she was a little confused about his train of thought.

"Don't try to dig deep. We have to leave a good impression on others first. Only then will they notice you, get to know you better, and discover your good qualities. Do you understand?"

"Leave it there, I'll wash it." He suddenly squatted down and snatched the basin from Tian Xiaolan, rolled up his sleeves and started rubbing, and waved his hand to ask her to stay away and not interfere with his work.

After washing the sheets, Li Weimin washed the clothes for the whole family. He felt that what Tian Xiaolan said made sense. It was impossible that writers would lie. Thinking of his happy family in the future, he rubbed the clothes in his hands even harder.

Aunt Guihua was a little surprised. Wei Min has been sensible since he was a child, but this was the first time he took the initiative to help his sister wash clothes. She gave Tian Xiaolan a thumbs up.

I hung the clothes on a clothesline by placing a rope between two trees in the yard. I wrung out the water and shook it to make it straight before hanging it up.

After cleaning up and preparing the meal, Aunt Guihua and Brother Weimin went to work in the fields. Tian Xiaolan had a fever because she fell into the water yesterday, and Aunt Guihua refused to let her go no matter what.

During the days of recuperation, Chen Dong always hesitated for a while at Aunt Guihua's door, neither wanting to leave nor to come in.

The grass was almost growing there, so Tian Xiaolan slipped out while Chen Dong was away. The neighbors around her had all gone to the fields, and only a few women holding their children were looking at her. She ignored their gazes and walked along the path to the back mountain.

She climbed up the mountain slowly, but soon she squatted down and gasped for breath. Her body was not just weak. She supported herself on her knees and stood up. She pushed aside the branches in front of her and looked out. What she saw was lush green mountains.

The sun was rising slowly on the top of the mountain, and the morning glow shone on the village, like a layer of gauze, and the air was filled with the fragrance of straw.

A gust of wind blew, and the golden rice in the terraced fields rolled up layers of waves, revealing the people working with their heads down and the yellow hats on their heads that were full of age.

On the loess road, several people were carrying hoes and heading to the fields, and an old yellow cow was slowly shaking its tail by the side of the road.

At the foot of the mountain, rows of yellow earthen brick houses are scattered in an orderly manner. Smoke can be vaguely seen rising from the thatched roofs. It all seems so real.

After entering the woods, the red land was bare. Tian Xiaolan wanted to see if there was any wild game in the deep woods to take back for a snack, but the further she went, the more dense the trees became. Tian Xiaolan walked around anxiously, but there were so many bushes that she forgot to make any marks.

I picked a few mushrooms in the bushes in the morning. When I was tired, I leaned against a tree, held the trunk with one hand and sat down to rest for a while. Looking around, I saw a semicircular umbrella-shaped plant in earthy brown color covered by grass on the opposite trunk, with a circle of white on the edge.

A scene suddenly flashed through my mind. This seemed like the Ganoderma lucidum that often appeared in TV dramas. Thinking of this, I walked over, dug up the bushes, squatted down and looked at it on the roots of the tree.

When she got closer to take a look, it was indeed the legendary Ganoderma lucidum. Before she could stretch out her hand to break off the Ganoderma lucidum, a "dong" sound came from not far away.

The person who just jumped down was the boy who was sitting on the tree watching the fun that day.

I only learned from Aunt Guihua that his name was Xing Yifei, and that he was an educated youth who had come from the Up to the Countryside Movement a few years ago. Now Xing Yifei and his father live in the village educated youth home.

Before Xing Yifei could stand firm, he rushed over, aiming for the Ganoderma lucidum in her hand.

"Bring it here!"

Tian Xiaolan was not in a hurry. She moved to the side and nimbly avoided Xing Yifei's hand. She pressed down and got the Ganoderma lucidum.

"Did you find it? Just grab it." Tian Xiaolan said disdainfully.

Gu Yifei still didn't give up: "I've been in the tree for hours. When doing things, it's first come first served, you know!"

Tian Xiaolan had never seen such a shameless person. She had discovered it first, but he came here and took advantage of it. She retorted, "Yeah, I don't know who sat in the tree for so long and didn't find the Ganoderma lucidum. I found it as soon as I got here. You can donate your eyes if you don't want them anymore!"

"I discovered it a long time ago. I was just waiting for the Ganoderma lucidum to mature." He didn't take her words to heart and pounced on her to grab it. Seeing her dodge and retreat, Xing Yifei pressed on step by step.

"I don't believe you."

Seeing that they were still some distance away from the slope, Tian Xiaolan protected the Ganoderma lucidum in her arms and, when the opportunity arose, stretched out her legs to push his foot. Xing Yifei lost his balance and his body suddenly jumped forward, his hands waving in the air, trying to grab something to stop himself from sliding down.

However, the weeds on the slope could not bear his weight, his fingers were cut and bleeding, and his knees hit the rocks mercilessly, causing him to go black in pain.
