Chapter 12: Clever Timing

12 Fierce Conflict

Jiang Dewang, the head of the Jiang family, was the first to speak. "Secretary Zhou, the third son has been gone for half a year, but we old couple are still heartbroken."

Secretary Zhou also knew that seeing a loved one die is a pain that ordinary people cannot bear.

So his tone was quite polite. "Comrade Jiang, the organization knows about your Jiang family's difficulties, so this time we are here to solve the placement problem of Yan Qing."

Jiang Dewang was stunned. "Placement issue? Yan Qing is living well at home, what's the problem?"

Jiang Yanqing knew that she could not remain silent at this moment and could not let the Jiang family get away with this matter.

He stepped forward and said, "Grandpa, we all know how the Jiang family treats me, so I won't say much."

"This is my medical report from the hospital. Today I asked the mine leader to come over and make the decision for me. My parents told me to study hard before they died. I'm old enough now and can live on my own."

His tone was firm and fearless, without any of the timidity of the past.

He looked straight at Jiang Dewang and straightened his back.

Jiang Dewang stared at Jiang Yanqing with his dim eyes, and suddenly chuckled, "Qing girl, when your parents died, your uncle and I went to bring you back and give you a home. You can't be an ungrateful person!"

Jiang Yanqing also smiled, "Grandpa, these past few days, I've been dreaming about my parents every day. They were crying with tears in their eyes, saying that they couldn't rest in peace knowing that I was living this kind of life!"

"My parents' pension is in my hands. It's very reassuring, right? The house and job my parents left me, and my eldest cousin and his wife, all of which are also very reassuring, right?"

"So, who is this ungrateful wolf referring to?"

These words were quite impolite, and Jiang Yanqing didn't want to endure it anymore. From the moment she stepped into the yard, she felt her whole body was filled with resentment, and she wished she could burn the place down.

It can be seen how sad the emotions left by the original owner were.

After all, I am still thinking about the pension. Money is Liu Cuihua's lifeblood. Asking her to take it out would be like asking her to die.

He pointed at Jiang Yanqing's nose and cursed, "What do you want, you dead girl? After all, you are a money-loser after marriage. Why do you think you can take our Jiang family's money?"

Qi Aiguo couldn't bear it any longer. "Old comrade, that's not what you said. Jiang Shuitao and his wife only have one daughter, Qing Yatou. The pension should have belonged to her."

"When you, the Jiang family, brought her back, we agreed that we would only keep her temporarily. Once Qing girl gets into college, the money will be returned to her."

Wang Dahong refused to give in when asked for money. He was the eldest son of the Jiang family, and the family's wealth would belong to him and her in the future. What would happen if Jiang Yanqing took it away?

Jiang Yanqing didn't care about that. She looked at Secretary Zhou and asked, "Uncle Zhou, you are the most important leader in the mine. Please make the decision on this matter for me."

Secretary Zhou was about to speak when the gate of the Jiang family's courtyard was pushed open from the outside again. Three men came in, one of whom was not very agile in his legs and feet.

Jiang Yanqing curled the corners of her mouth slightly. It seemed that the timing was just right.

As soon as the visitor came in, he said, "We are here to pick up the bride. Please send someone out quickly. We have to hurry back."

It is indeed not close. The two counties are hundreds of kilometers apart. Wang Dahong’s goal is to send the original owner away.

Qi Aiguo's heart sank, and he asked, "What's the name of the bride you're looking for?"

Seeing Qi Aiguo sitting in the Jiang family's courtyard, the visitor thought he was a relative of the Jiang family and didn't take it seriously. He replied nonchalantly, "I don't know. Anyway, her aunt promised her to me. She said she had just come out of mourning."

Although this statement did not directly refer to Jiang Yanqing, it was almost correct. After all, she was the only one in the Jiang family who needed to observe mourning.

Qi Aiguo said angrily, "Do you know that arranged marriages are illegal? And the girl is only fourteen years old."

The man's expression changed slightly, and he said, "This marriage was arranged by my cousin. She said the girl is willing. We dare not do anything illegal."

Wang Dahong was originally hiding behind the crowd, trying to avoid this man, but this man was also sharp-eyed and saw Wang Dahong at once.

He stepped forward, pointed at the person and said, "It's her. She's the one pulling the strings."

Wang Dahong saw that he couldn't escape, so he rolled his eyes and said, "Oh, you're mistaken. I canceled this marriage with your cousin a long time ago. Didn't your cousin tell me?"

The man said with a look of obvious disbelief, "Impossible. We agreed to pick up the girl today. There's no way we could have made a mistake."

It was not appropriate for Jiang Yanqing to intervene in this kind of debate, so she just stood back and watched the show silently.

Wang Dahong and the man argued endlessly, and Secretary Zhou became more and more angry as he listened. He originally thought that Jiang Yanqing was also wrong for being rude to his elders.

Now it seems that the Jiang family has gone too far. He stood up and said, "Okay, you guys should solve your Jiang family's affairs yourselves."

"Let's first solve Comrade Jiang Yanqing's problem."
