Chapter 312 Giving Gifts
The day before the fried chicken shop opened, Jiang Yanqing received a package from Fang Mingxiao, a large box of pagers.
Jiang Yanqing called Qin Hua's family and Qin Yu's family and invited them to come back for dinner. In the evening, the whole family was bustling together again.
After finishing the meal, Jiang Yanqing took out the box, placed it on the coffee table, and said, "I have prepared a surprise for everyone today!"
Qin Chen was the happiest one, because when Jiang Yanqing received the box in the afternoon, he knew that the pager he wanted had arrived.
But Xiaoqing was so mysterious that she insisted on giving it to me at night, so I had no choice but to wait patiently.
Second Aunt Qin was the most cheerful of the bunch. She laughed heartily and said, "Xiaoqing has learned to keep things in suspense. Hurry up and show us what the surprise is."
Jiang Yanqing opened the box, took out a pager from it, and handed it to Old Man Qin first, "Grandpa, this is for you."
Old Man Qin took it and asked, "Hey, what is this?"
Jiang Yanqing didn't rush to explain. She took out two more and handed them to Zhou Fengzhi, "Mom, these are for you and Dad. Dad is not at home. Give them to him when he comes back."
"This belongs to my second uncle and second aunt, this belongs to my younger aunt and younger uncle, and this belongs to my second, third, fourth, and fifth brothers."
After Jiang Yanqing distributed the pages to everyone, everyone present had a pager. Qin Chen was stunned. He didn't expect Jiang Yanqing to be so generous as to give one to everyone.
Qin Yu exclaimed, "Xiaoqing, this is a pager? This is not cheap!"
Qin Hua, who was at work, also saw someone using it and said, "I heard it costs over a thousand yuan each, and there's a 100 yuan connection fee. It seems like you have to pay every month to use it."
Second Aunt Qin was quite curious about it. She fiddled with it and said, "Xiaoqing, I'll accept it. I'll ask Xiaolang to send you the money later."
Jiang Yanqing pouted unhappily, "Second Aunt, are you being distant with me? I already told you this is a gift. I've earned so much money, I'm happy to spend it on you!"
Aunt Qin couldn't bear to see Jiang Yanqing about to cry, so she quickly agreed, "Oh, okay, okay, I'll accept it. I always say that raising a daughter is the most caring thing. Look, you prepared a surprise for us right after you came back."
"Unlike my two sons, who are so grown up, I haven't even taken back a hair."
Old Man Qin handed the pager back to Jiang Yanqing. "I'm an old man and I'm not going out, why would I need this thing?"
Before Jiang Yanqing could speak, Aunt Qin said anxiously, "Dad, please accept Xiaoqing's kindness! Look, we all accepted it!"
Even the usually steady Qin Chao fiddled with the pager twice and asked, "Xiaoqing, how did you buy these pagers? They're really hard to buy these days!"
Jiang Yanqing raised her eyebrows proudly, "A Xiao bought it there and sent it back to me."
His face was full of expression, "My Ah Xiao is so awesome!" Knowing how close they were, the old man Qin and the others couldn't bear to watch.
Aunt Qin's family had never met Fang Mingxiao, so they asked curiously, "Is that your little fiancé?"
Jiang Yanqing nodded, "Yes, he applied for Kyoto Medical University and will be coming to Kyoto soon."
Aunt Qin laughed heartily. "Xiaoqing, you are still young. You should stay at home for two more years. It's not too late to get married after you turn twenty."
Zhou Fengzhi nodded quickly, "Yes, yes, her father and I think so too."
Jiang Yanqing said angrily, "Second Aunt, Mom, I have prepared an extra gift for each of you ladies. If you make fun of me again, I won't give it to you."
Qin Yu heard it and said, "I didn't say anything. Give it all to me!"
Hahaha... the whole family laughed. Aunt Qin promised not to tease Jiang Yanqing anymore, and then Jiang Yanqing took out the cheongsams she had made for everyone.
Women all like new clothes, no matter how old they are. Aunt Qin is especially happy and keeps lamenting that having a daughter is good, and little Qingqing is even better.
The excitement didn't end until around seven or eight o'clock. The fried chicken shop will open tomorrow, and everyone who has time will go there.
