"Bang!"
A loud noise startled Sheng Qian.
He suddenly opened his eyes.
The feeling of weightlessness she had just experienced instantly made her dizzy and she lay back down.
My vision gradually became clear.
The banging on the door still echoed in her ears. Sheng Qian squinted hard, staring at the light bulb overhead, which was connected by wires and covered with cobwebs and blackened. Her gaze shifted, and she saw the old-fashioned wooden window and the yellow mud walls...
"Bang bang..." The wooden door was pounded loudly, shaking and swaying, and it looked like it was about to be broken down at any moment.
Sheng Qian realized that she might have been thrown to a mountain village by spatial force.
He raised his hand and pressed it against his brow.
Suddenly.
Sheng Qian was stunned.
The slender hands, marked with the traces of hard work, were not her own.
Sheng Qian quickly used her mind to open up the space and glanced at the date displayed on the electronic device inside.
Sheng Qian's expression changed instantly.
January 1, 1980, New Year's Day!
We just entered the 1980s from 1979.
The forced upgrade has caused such serious side effects.
A sharp pain shot through her head. She pressed it and touched her hand, finding it covered in half-dried blood.
Sheng Qian's face darkened.
It seems this person died from hitting their head, and was then thrown into this body by spatial force, replacing the other person.
"Bang!"
The door finally collapsed.
"What a disaster!" The woman who came in first was horrified by the blood on Sheng Qian's head, her eyes widening in shock. Then, as if remembering something, her expression changed again. "You're disfigured! What are we going to do? People are waiting in town. We can't let her be rejected. Guan Hua is waiting for you to save his life. You brat, the family agreed to all your requests, why did you have to cause this!"
After the woman finished speaking, she angrily slapped her on the back, the slap was quite hard.
The man who came in quickly grabbed the woman, "Alright, hurry up and wipe the blood off her, find some powder puffs and try not to let those people notice."
The man was of average appearance, less than 1.8 meters tall, somewhat thin, and dressed in the worst kind of clothes available at the time, with many patches on his clothes.
Under Sheng Qian's gaze, his eyes flickered slightly.
The woman, her eyes red with anger, retorted, "Who in the family has the money to buy face powder?"
As she spoke, the woman tore off a piece of rag and wiped Sheng Qian's forehead, but she didn't control the pressure well and ended up rubbing off a patch of skin.
"hiss."
Sheng Qian realized what was happening, grabbed the woman's hand, frowned, and said in a low voice, "I can do it myself."
The woman let go, her eyes filled with anxiety and reproach. "Guanhua is your own brother. There's nothing our family can do. That family has their eye on you. They're generous, from the county town, and have money. Even if that person doesn't wake up, you'll still benefit from their good fortune. Would your mother harm you? Your uncle went through so much trouble to find a way out for us. Please have pity on your parents and save your brother."
The man stood to the side, pacing anxiously for a few steps. Then, as if he had made up his mind, he said sternly, "You have to go, whether you like it or not. Both of you have been legally married, so you're going."
Sheng Qian's hand was grabbed forcefully by the man, and she was almost dragged off the wooden bed.
Sheng Qian, her face grim, tried to break free from the other person's grip, only to be surprised to find herself so weak that she didn't even have the strength to struggle.
"I'll walk by myself."
Sheng Qian tried her best to calm herself down.
I've just woken up, and my body hasn't been repaired yet, so I'm definitely weak.
The man looked at Sheng Qian and only let go of her hand after confirming that she wouldn't cause trouble.
The woman was still whispering in Sheng Qian's ear: "Go with your father. When you get there, don't speak if you don't know how. City people are very particular. Once you've met him, your brother can be transferred to the county hospital. Your uncle said that although the young man is unconscious, he's quite handsome..."
Sheng Qian followed behind the man, not paying much attention to what he was saying.
The place where she was was a row of three-room mud houses with a separate small kitchen next to them, forming a small courtyard.
The villagers watching the commotion outside pointed and whispered about Sheng Qian and her companions. A man several centimeters taller than the men squeezed through the crowd. The two looked similar, so it seemed he was the uncle they had been talking about.
The uncle glanced at Sheng Qian, his gaze lingering on her forehead for a moment, before saying to Sheng Li, "The bicycle is ready, let's go."
Sheng Qian is still called Sheng Qian, but the life she faces is different now.
Sheng Li glanced at the people gathered outside. Although he was annoyed, he didn't say anything.
Uncle Shengping waved his hand, "Is there no work left in the brigade? Everyone, disperse."
"Qian is quite pitiful. She married a dead man in order to save her younger brother."
"To become a widow after marriage is truly pitiful."
"I heard that family is from the city and they're rich! Even if she becomes a widow, it's better than marrying a farmer."
"I heard he was unconscious? How did he become dead? When did this happen?"
"What's the difference between this and being dead? Lying in bed, you still have to be served. It's worse than being dead. It's hard to say whether Qian will be able to win her favor after she enters the family."
"That young man had been unconscious for several months. According to the horoscope, he was a good match for Qian Ya. They were worried that he would be single even after he died, so they hurriedly found someone to arrange a marriage. They even got the marriage certificate. Qian Ya's life is over."
"How could it be over? Didn't that family promise Qianya a house in town? Even if she's a widow, she'll be a widow who enjoys happiness."
"Once the young man is completely dead, who knows if that family will kick him out and take back the house?"
"So what? Sheng Li's family only has this one son. If he dies, the family will fall apart. Right now, we're just hoping this matter will be settled so they can send money over to help us out."
As the villagers dispersed, they made sounds of amazement.
