Chapter 16 A Beating

Sheng Qian, having vented her anger by beating Hou Guifang, said to the dumbfounded Hou Guifang, "Aunt Fang, you can go back and call the police now."

Upon hearing the words "call the police," the two turned pale with fright and, despite the pain all over their bodies, got up.

Not daring to linger for even a moment, he ran out with all his might.

Seeing them run away, Sheng Qian chased after them for a while, but they still managed to escape.

After cursing a few times, Hou Guifang turned to walk back, clutching the bag of money. She asked Sheng Qian anxiously, "You're covered in blood. Are you alright? Are you injured?"

“It’s that kid’s blood…” Sheng Qian wiped it off and said, “Let’s see if any is missing. I’ll ask those two kids for it back later.”

“Nothing is missing, nothing is missing,” Hou Guifang said, not expecting anyone to be so bold as to break in and steal money.

“In the future, let’s not leave money in such conspicuous places,” Sheng Qian nodded when she heard that she hadn’t lost any. “Let’s go back and check on the other things at home first.”

“They were just rummaging around, nothing else is missing,” Hou Guifang quickly went to check on Long Yunting.

There wasn't much in Long Yunting's room, just a living person lying there, and the two of them didn't have time to search other places.

Sheng Qian said, "It seems like we'll need someone to be home from now on."

If an enemy were to come, wouldn't Long Yunting be doomed?

Hou Guifang nodded in agreement, feeling a wave of lingering fear; the two of them absolutely could not go out together.

Fortunately, they returned quickly this time.
