Chapter 24 The Tragic Duo

While Sheng Qian was thinking about how to implement her new goal, Liang Qiushen came out of the Gao family with a dark face.

It was as if staying even a moment longer would cost him his life.

Gao Xiufang was like a madwoman, absent-minded while eating, and then suddenly let out a scream.

They are easily startled.

The Gao family kept hinting to Liang Qiushen that he should marry Gao Xiufang.

Liang Qiushen directly stated that his family was arranging marriages for him.

Gao Xiufang was furious, pointing at Liang Qiushen and asking if he still couldn't forget that bitch.

Liang Qiushen was so angry that he was about to turn on him on the spot.

Finally, after finishing his meal, Liang Qiushen left without looking back.

He hadn't gone far when he heard the Gao family whipping Gao Xiufang with rattan canes, so he walked even faster.

Gao Xiufang's screams nearly blew the roof tiles away.

The neighbors were already used to this kind of thing.

Liang Qiushen bumped into someone while rushing out in a huff. In a bad mood, he simply apologized and left.

He didn't even notice the two people who bumped into him secretly laughing behind his back, hiding the twenty yuan they had found in a corner and dividing it up.

These two men were none other than Zhao Niangen and Zhang Shunlin, whom Sheng Qian had beaten to a pulp last time.

“Fat Root, that’s exactly twenty. Let’s each get ten.”

Zhang Shunlin was a shrewd man, unlike Zhao Niangen, who was a bit foolish.

It's not that he's stupid, it's just that his reactions are a bit slow, and he looks a little silly.

Zhao Niangen held the ten yuan note and grinned.

"Look at you, so full of yourself," Zhang Shunlin said with a laugh.

"Dalin, are we really leaving here?" Zhao Niangen asked with a hint of reluctance, his eyes darkening.

“What, do you still want to wait here to die? Everyone within miles knows us. Everyone rejects us. So what if we have no parents? The village won’t let us stay, and outsiders bully us. Do you think we’ll stay here and be bullied for the rest of our lives?” Zhang Shunlin smelled the ten yuan. The smell of money was what gave people like them, who had no fixed abode, the most sense of security.

Zhao Niangen said quietly, "But my parents' graves are right here. If I leave, my roots will be gone."

Zhang Shunlin's eyes darkened as if he had thought of something. He raised his hand and patted Zhao Niangen's shoulder: "Panggen, let's go. Don't stay here. If you don't leave, I'll leave on my own."

Zhao Niangen still couldn't bear to leave the place where he was born and raised.

Although it was mostly a cold and desolate place, he had developed some affection for it.

"Your dad got a new wife, Dalin, why aren't you angry? Why are you still hanging out with someone nobody wants like me?"

"Look at what you're saying. My dad, with a new wife, would he still remember me, the child from his first marriage? I was only five years old when my mom passed away, and my dad married a new wife when I was five. I remember what happened back then very clearly."

Zhang Shunlin pointed to his head, talking about the tragic events, but his eyes and brows were full of smiles.

Zhang Shunlin was quite handsome. Before he got into crime, the girls in the village adored him. But after he started doing petty theft with Zhao Niangen, he became quite disliked by the villagers.

His father kicked fifteen-year-old Zhang Shunlin out of the house.

Zhao Niangen has uncles and cousins, but they have all lived separately for so long that their blood ties have become distant.

So after his parents died in an accident, Zhao Niangen was left unloved. Because he had a high fever when he was a child, his brain was a little slow to react, which led everyone to call him Fat Silly Root.

Zhao Niangen used to be a bit chubby, but after his parents passed away and no one took care of him, he quickly lost weight.

It was Zhang Shunlin who found him food; otherwise, he would have starved to death long ago.

Zhao Niangen looked at Zhang Shunlin, as if he had made up his mind, and said, "Let's stay for another week. I need to tell my parents."

“Okay, then we’ll go into the mountains tomorrow to fix up your parents’ graves and make a mark. You can come back and move them when you’ve made it big.”

"good!"

Zhao Niangen grinned and responded loudly!

"You're such a fool," Zhang Shunlin chuckled. "When you get married, you'll be bullied rotten by your wife."

"I don't have money to get married." Zhao Niangen's ears turned red when he talked about getting married.

Zhang Shunlin stood up, stamped his foot, and said with a determined look in his eyes, "Pang Gen, from now on, we'll make money to get married, and marry the prettiest girl in the city!"

Looking at Zhang Shunlin, Zhao Niangen chuckled foolishly again.

...

The next day, Sheng Qian went east again.

The people in the town, like those in the village, all have to work.

At this time, no one goes into the mountains; only idle people wander around.

Sheng Qian was that idle person.

She ran into the mountains as a form of exercise.

She ran along the muddy path, then climbed uphill, also by running; she was used to running mountain paths.

Therefore, there is no difficulty in taking action.

Once I'm back to exercising, I'm starting to upgrade my personal space.

Running down the slope, Sheng Qian saw several small holes that looked precarious and about to collapse.

If someone goes in at this time and it suddenly collapses, there will be no oxygen inside, and the people outside will not be able to rescue them in time, so they can only wait to die.

Digging tunnels to extract coal is no different from risking your life.

No wonder no one comes here to mine; the terrain is difficult to access, and roads would have to be built outside.

There's a saying: "If you want to get rich, build roads first."

Sheng Qian thought that even if she had a way to mine, she still needed a way out.

Upgrading is urgently needed!

Sheng Qian sat on a rock, lost in thought.

A mountain breeze blew by and woke her up.

Using space to store large quantities of coal and then transporting it out is utterly astonishing.
