An hour had passed since Long Yunting and Sheng Qian left.
Seeing everyone still chatting and laughing in the living room, Long Jingyu couldn't help but come out.
"Jingyu, come and see, these are the gifts Xiaoqian brought for everyone," Lan Peizhi said with a smile, waving to Long Jingyu.
Long Jingyu's face turned somewhat ugly upon hearing this.
"Why do you always bring gifts when you come? Do you still think you're an outsider?"
These words caused the atmosphere in the living room to freeze for a moment.
Old Master Long said calmly, "This is also a token of Qian's affection. It's understandable that you, as her aunt, don't like it, but you have no right to say a word against a gift from a junior."
Everyone knows perfectly well why Sheng Qian didn't bring a portion for Long Jingyu as well.
If it were anyone else, they probably wouldn't even give Long Jingyu a friendly look.
Long Jingyu is still finding fault with Sheng Qian, which is going a bit too far.
"Big sister, the gift Xiaoqian brought back this time is quite something," Deng Zhiying said, somewhat disapproving of Long Jingyu's antics, deliberately taking out her phone and waving it around. "We're researching this cordless phone. It can make calls without wires, and the screen is touch-sensitive! It can take pictures like a camera, and you can even play some mini games..."
Long Jingyu's eyes lit up when she saw the phone in Deng Zhiying's hand.
He was about to ask Deng Zhiying to take a look at the phone when he remembered that it was a gift from Sheng Qian, and his face fell.
This new cordless phone is selling like hotcakes in Beijing and is quite expensive.
Compared to those developed in later generations, it had far fewer functions. Aside from making phone calls, taking photos, and playing some block games, it lacked other complex features.
But for people of this era, it is also an excellent mobile phone, a novel and futuristic device!
Sheng Qian brought gifts to He Lan's house.
It is still a traditional and simple mansion.
Having already known that Sheng Qian would be coming, Grandma Helan called her son and asked him to come home.
Wang Qing accompanied Old Lady Helan as she came out to greet the guests.
Just as Sheng Qian was about to knock on the door, she saw the hostess come out to greet her personally. She was somewhat surprised and quickly stepped forward: "Old Madam Helan."
"We've been waiting for you! Come in quickly!"
With a smile, Madam Helan invited Sheng Qian into her home.
Wang Qing glanced at Sheng Qian and thought to herself that the old lady really liked this Sheng Qian.
The servants working in the Helan household, seeing how the old lady of the Helan family treated her, dared not mistreat her.
"There's no need for Madam Helan to personally come out to greet you."
"I couldn't sit still when I heard you were coming," said Madam Helan with a smile, gesturing for Sheng Qian to come inside with her. "Thank you for coming to see this old lady."
"It is an honor for the younger generation to visit the Helan family."
To outsiders, the Helan family was a true aristocratic and powerful family; being able to enter this place was something many people wouldn't even dare to dream of.
However, Sheng Qian was invited in by the old lady here.
I wonder how many people I envy.
"These are some tonics I brought for the old lady; they will be very beneficial to her health."
Old Madam Helan had sharp eyes and could tell at a glance that the things Sheng Qian brought were not cheap.
"You silly child, this old woman invited you to come and have a chat, why did you bring a gift?"
Wang Qing stepped forward, took the gift box from Sheng Qian's hand, and then took it away.
Since Sheng Qian was so willing, Wang Qing didn't wait for Old Madam Helan to ask before preparing a gift for Sheng Qian to take back home.
Seeing Sheng Qian made Madam Helan feel at ease, and before long they were having a lively chat.
The servants in the mansion were shocked to see the old lady smiling so happily.
However, they concealed their emotions well, so no one could tell.
Sheng Qian was also somewhat overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of Old Madam Helan.
Just as they were getting into the conversation, a voice came from outside the door, "Mom, what's making you so happy?"
Sheng Qian and Madam Helan turned around.
Upon seeing the handsome middle-aged man enter, Sheng Qian smiled slightly and asked him, "Mr. He Lan."
"Ah Zhi, come here for a moment." Old Madam Helan waved with a smile.
Helan Zhi was a man of impeccable appearance, looking much younger than his actual age. He possessed a commanding presence and a subtle yet sharp edge. When he put on a stern face, he gave off an unapproachable and cold feeling.
"Have we had guests?"
Helan pretended not to know anything.
His gaze fell on Sheng Qian, then quickly returned to her.
"Let me introduce you. This is Qian Yaya, Sheng Qian. Qian Yaya, this is my son, He Lanzhi. You can call him Uncle, just like the other juniors."
Upon seeing Sheng Qian, He Lanzhi thought he was seeing his mother when she was young; Sheng Qian even bore a resemblance to himself in her features.
His eyebrows, like his wife's, were exceptionally beautiful.
Sheng Qian noticed the other person sizing her up and returned a slight smile.
"Uncle Helan."
"Yes, don't be shy here at home."
He Lanzhi finally understood why the old lady kept nagging.
They really do look too alike.
Sheng Qian nodded slightly.
"Ah Zhi, I get along well with Qian'er, and you should like her too. How about this, you adopt Qian'er as your goddaughter. Qian'er will be my granddaughter! Our family has always wanted a girl, but we haven't been able to have one." Old Madam Helan didn't beat around the bush and got the matter settled as soon as she arrived. "Qian'er, would you be willing to be your Uncle Helan's goddaughter?"
If Sheng Qian said she was unwilling, she would be ungrateful.
only.
The way the two of them were looking at him was rather strange.
She didn't believe that Old Madam Helan would suddenly have Helan Zhi recognize her as her goddaughter; there must be something special about it.
