Chapter 37 Old Man Ye Has Quite a Background

"Gao Sanwang, if the old man sees you bullying the little girl again, he won't be so lenient. Get out of here!" Ye Li's aura was particularly imposing.

Sheng Qian watched Gao Sanwang flee in terror, and raised an eyebrow again.

The onlookers were stunned. Once they realized what was happening, they all left, not daring to stay and watch the spectacle.

"Mr. Ye, what brings you here?"

"Little girl, have you forgotten? Didn't we say last time that someone from Haicheng was coming down?"

"..." Sheng Qian couldn't help but calculate the time: "I remember you said it would be a month later, but only a few days have passed, and you've already brought people to pick up the goods?"

"I'm not here to pick up goods, I just brought someone to show you. You can't make the clothes too small, make them according to this standard," Ye Li said, pointing to the man standing to the side who looked like a bodyguard.

Sheng Qian looked over and said, "I made it according to the approximate dimensions you gave me. Have you forgotten that you gave me the dimensions?"

Ye Li glared at him, "I'm just afraid you'll make a mistake. There are over a hundred sets, and if they have to be redone, you'll be the one who suffers. This old man is doing this for your own good, and you're blaming him."

“I don’t blame you,” Sheng Qian said, looking at the tall man. “I’ve already seen his figure.”

"Little girl, won't you invite this old man in to sit down and have a cup of tea?"

"Last time you said I was alone here and it wasn't convenient for me to come over. What, have you forgotten so quickly?"

"Did I say that?" Old Man Ye refused to admit it no matter what.

Sheng Qian was speechless. "I don't have tea at home, only plain water."

Old Man Ye glanced at the half-open door, seemingly lost in thought. After a moment of silence, he suddenly turned and walked away, his hands behind his back.

Sheng Qian was a little puzzled, but she ignored the strange old man.

Just assume he's angry.

but.

The man that Old Man Ye brought was not an ordinary bodyguard.

The appearance of this man further convinced Sheng Qian that Old Man Ye was no ordinary person.

Sheng Qian suddenly regretted contacting Old Man Ye. It wouldn't be worth it if she got into trouble later for a hundred sets of clothes.

To become such a figure in Haicheng, Old Man Ye must have a very powerful background.

His surname is Ye.

Sheng Qian thought and thought, but couldn't come up with anyone she could connect with.

Could it be that decades later, the great man surnamed Ye has fallen from grace?

Sheng Qian shook her head. Regardless of Old Man Ye's identity, she should quickly get rid of these hundred sets of clothes, get the money, and then not have any further dealings with him.

The matter of Gao Wanchao was dropped.

Sheng Qian was still at home rushing to finish the clothes. After finishing one batch, she took another batch out of her space and put it back.

That noon, Sheng Qian was still holding the cooking utensils when the door behind her was pounded on, making a loud noise.

Sheng Qian turned around, opened the door, and was quite surprised to see Zhao Niangen covered in sweat.

"How could you..."

“Sheng Qian, hurry, hurry... Da Lin got into a fight with someone, right by the mountain... at the coal mining spot you want, a group of people came, and then... a fight broke out.”

Zhao Niangen, panting, pointed in a direction and said with difficulty.

Sheng Qian's face darkened. "Wait a moment."

Sheng Qian went back and extinguished the fire in the stove, then closed the doors and windows. She checked the stove to make sure there was no possibility of it reigniting, then turned around and locked the door tightly: "Let's go."

Zhao Niangen quickly ran after Sheng Qian.

The two ran quickly to the edge of the mountain and saw several people standing there. Zhang Shunlin was pinned to the ground, feeling very aggrieved. He glared at the leader standing to the side, clearly dissatisfied.

Sheng Qian ran quickly to the person in front of her, and was stunned when she saw the leader: "It's you."

The man leading the group was none other than the one who had gone with Old Man Ye earlier.

The man also recognized Sheng Qian, frowned slightly, and then pointed to Zhang Shunlin on the ground, "You know him?"

The man's voice was cold.

Sheng Qian nodded, "This is my friend, please let him go."

The man waved his hand, signaling the person holding Zhang Shunlin to let go.

Sheng Qian frowned as she looked at the group of people. It was obvious that they were not the same kind of people.

"What are you doing? How did you get into a conflict with my friend?" Sheng Qian stepped forward.

Zhang Shunlin was pulled over by Zhao Niangen.

"Dalin, are you alright?" Zhao Niangen was particularly annoyed with himself for being incompetent.

He only knew to ask for help when he was in trouble. When he realized what had happened, he wanted to slap himself for not thinking about it at all before running to call Sheng Qian.

Sheng Qian was a year or two younger than them, and she was a girl.

The man cast a cold glance his way. “These people are from Ye Laoyuan’s distant cousin’s side. They’re here to survey the development of an underground coal mine, and your friend suddenly rushed out and blocked their way.”

Upon hearing this, Sheng Qian looked at Zhang Shunlin, somewhat surprised.

Zhang Shunlin turned his face away, refusing to look at Sheng Qian.

Zhang Shunlin's actions showed his determination to stay, and unexpectedly, Zhao Niangen actually kept him.

"You're going to develop this area?" Sheng Qian frowned. Who had leaked the news?

“Yes, we are the operators who came to conduct the survey,” a middle-aged man wearing glasses walked over and explained somewhat impatiently.

Sheng Qian frowned even more: "This area has been taken."

“Impossible,” the middle-aged man said with certainty. “We’ve checked. Nobody has developed this area. We’re the first group. Little girl, don’t interfere with our work. Take your friend away now.”

Sheng Qian didn't move; she couldn't stand the thought of the place she had her eye on being developed.
