Chapter 46 The Elegant Old Lady

"Ten yuan is indeed a high price, but these blueprints are very useful to me and cannot be released for public use," Sheng Qian said calmly, reaching out to pull back the blueprints.

The man stared longingly at the blueprints in Sheng Qian's hand.

Sheng Qian took the blueprints and left.

"Young comrade, wait a minute..."

The man realized what was happening and quickly chased after her, hurriedly giving Sheng Qian his number: "This is our newspaper's number. You can call this number if you change your mind."

Sheng Qian glanced at it but didn't take it.

"I won't sell," Sheng Qian said before quickly walking away.

The man wanted to pursue her again, but Sheng Qian walked away even faster.

They disappeared in no time.

The man's eyes gleamed even brighter as he thought of the blueprints.

no.

He needs to make a phone call.

The man went to a place where he could make a phone call, dialed a few times, and the call was quickly answered.

"teacher."

A slightly deep voice came from the other end: "What's wrong? Has something happened?"

The man hurriedly replied, "No, no, I just found a blueprint that perfectly aligns with our philosophy. If we can get our hands on it, it will be extremely beneficial for our future development."

"What blueprints?"

"It's a type of mechanical blueprint..."

He could see it clearly; the diagram resembled an engine, with data labeled on it. He recognized the person who drew the diagram as an absolute master after seeing only one page.

After listening to the man's description, the person on the other end was silent for a while, and then said, "The other party is just a young girl. Find an opportunity to get the blueprints."

"good."

"Wait, just to be safe, I'll send two more people down to help you get the blueprints and keep an eye on that girl."

The person opposite me spoke with a subtle yet menacing tone.

Sheng Qian looked around with the blueprints, but still couldn't find what she wanted.

It seems the county town isn't enough; we need to go to the city.

Sheng Qian felt that the thing in her hand was too advanced; ordinary people simply couldn't make it.

At noon, Sheng Qian walked around but couldn't find anything suitable, so she randomly chose an old alley and went in. There were a few old stalls inside, and Sheng Qian ordered a bowl of noodles.

Let's deal with lunch first.

Sheng Qian noticed someone was watching her, and when she turned around, she saw an old lady sitting at the next table looking at her.

Seeing that she meant no harm, Sheng Qian nodded slightly to her, then buried her head in eating her noodles.

Even after Sheng Qian finished eating, the old lady didn't look away, her eyes still fixed on Sheng Qian.

Sheng Qian didn't pay attention and was about to get up and leave.

The old lady suddenly came over and said, "Young comrade."

Sheng Qian looked up: "Is there something you need?"

"May I ask where you're from? I mean no harm, I just feel a connection with this young man and came here specifically to get to know him!" The old lady spoke with an air of nobility, her inherent temperament surpassing that of her peers.

Her skin was very fair, and her eyes were not cloudy; they remained bright and alert.

Sheng Qian thought that this old lady must have been a wealthy heiress when she was young.

The old lady's voice had a slightly cold quality, suggesting she must have been a serious person in her youth.

"I came from a nearby town. If you have nothing else to do, I'll be going now."

The old lady seemed to sense Sheng Qian's wariness, nodded slightly, and then turned and left.

Sheng Qian didn't think much of it. As she turned to leave, the boss called out, "Young man, you left something behind."

Sheng Qian turned around and saw a small bag on her seat. She frowned and said, "That's not mine."

"Huh? Those are Grandma Ju's things."

Sheng Qian turned to leave, but then suddenly turned back and asked the boss if there were any places nearby that did special processing of hardware or similar items.

The boss had lived here since he was a child and knew a lot about the place, so he quickly pointed Sheng Qian in the right direction.

Sheng Qian arrived at the place the stall owner pointed out and saw a hardware processing factory. Sheng Qian went up to ask the security guard.

When the gatekeeper heard that Sheng Qian had come to have some special parts made, and that he might do some business with her if it was suitable, he couldn't help but look Sheng Qian up and down.

The way he looked at Sheng Qian also became somewhat strange.

"Wait a moment, I'll go tell our boss," the gatekeeper said. He hadn't intended to pay attention to the girl because she was young, but she was pretty, and he could imagine the disappointment on her face, so he quickened his pace.

Soon, a middle-aged man came out, his serious face tense.

His eyes were cold.

"So you're the one looking for me? Young man, what do you need me for?"

Although he had a cold expression, he still asked Sheng Qian a question.

“I have some things I'd like to have made. I wonder if you can manufacture them here? I brought the blueprints with me.” Sheng Qian pointed inside: “Could we go inside and discuss it in detail?”

"Say what you want to make right here. What, can't we see the blueprints?" The middle-aged man frowned, showing his impatience.

"I can look at the drawings, but I need to confirm whether you can print them out here."

Sheng Qian wasn't just showing the blueprints for nothing.

The middle-aged man frowned again, glanced at his watch, and seemed to have something urgent. He spoke impatiently once more: "Go look somewhere else, we can't print it here."

"You haven't seen it yet."

"No need to look, I'm not taking any business today," the middle-aged man waved his hand, refusing Sheng Qian's offer.

There are quite a few small factories in this county town area, but most of them are state-owned enterprises. In those days, being able to work in a factory was a highly coveted job, something everyone envied.

Sheng Qian stepped forward and blocked the middle-aged man's path. "I see that your place is quite large. You can definitely get some of the things I want."
