"Qian girl."
Sheng Ping spoke first with a smile, making sure to appear humble.
Sheng Qian pretended not to notice his humble attitude and asked indifferently, "What do you want to see me about?"
Sheng Qian's attitude almost made Sheng Muchen, who was standing behind the crowd, jump out.
Unable to suppress his displeasure, Sheng Li pointed to the villagers behind him: "You are also a daughter of our village. Now that you have status and position, you must not forget your roots. Make arrangements for them, try to give them easier jobs, and pay them a few extra dollars in wages."
A commanding tone.
It was as if he were the big boss here.
I didn't notice anything at first, but it became more and more obvious later on.
Sheng Li's character is entirely inherited from his father, Sheng Hongyang.
He's a bully who preys on the weak and fears the strong.
Sheng Qian is his daughter. Even though he was scolded by Sheng Qian before, he forgot about it as soon as he turned around.
He's someone who never learns from a mistake.
Sheng Qian looked at Sheng Li with a half-smile, but remained motionless.
"What are you standing there for? Hurry up and make arrangements. These are the uncles and elders who usually take care of you. You can't be ungrateful and embarrass the Sheng family."
Seeing that Sheng Qian did not move, Sheng Li became somewhat annoyed.
Sheng Qian remained unmoved.
With so many people watching, Sheng Li was humiliated by his daughter's direct disregard.
He immediately became enraged.
"You ungrateful little brat..."
"Don't rush to curse," Sheng Qian interrupted his cursing coldly, "If you're looking for work, you can follow the rules. If you want to use connections, that's not going to happen. You don't want to work but still want to make a lot of money? There's no such thing as a free lunch."
The villagers behind him immediately became somewhat displeased.
These were the same people who had previously vowed that they would rather starve than work for Sheng Qian. Many of their words had reached Sheng Qian's ears, but she simply didn't take them seriously.
The people standing at the back were not only from Wutong Village, but also from neighboring villages.
They approached Shengli and Shengping hoping to use connections to find an easy job that would pay a lot of money.
In order to get this, they gave Sheng Li and Sheng Ping bribes respectively.
Now that Sheng Qian had rejected them outright, they were also somewhat embarrassed and angry.
The villagers were unaware of Sheng Qian's power, but Sheng Li and Sheng Ping had witnessed it firsthand. So when Sheng Li's words were cut off, Sheng Li and Sheng Ping immediately realized what was happening.
We absolutely must not anger Qian.
Qian is really something these days.
Seeing that the villagers' eyes were all on Sheng Li and Sheng Ping, Sheng Qian guessed what had happened.
These two must have received benefits from everyone.
How could the villagers not be angry if they accepted bribes but failed to get things done?
but.
This is Sheng Li and Sheng Ping's business; it has nothing to do with her.
They dare to make such a promise even though they're not close to them.
These two are really bold.
Sheng Qian didn't care whether the villagers would point fingers and curse at them. She casually tossed out a sentence, put her mask back on, and headed into the mountains.
Sheng Li was about to shout angrily when the villagers behind him stepped forward to interrogate him, instantly forcing him back.
“You’ve taken our money, and now that things aren’t going well, hand over everything we gave you.”
"He can't even cure his own daughter; he's truly useless."
"That's right, they've got their daughter riding on their heads and still making grand promises to give us the best positions. Bah! Now they can't even get through the gate. Give back the ten yuan I gave you."
"Give me my money back!"
"And the thirty eggs that my family sent, not one of them should be returned."
Unable to gain anything, the villagers immediately surrounded the two, causing them a great deal of trouble, with cold sweat pouring down their foreheads.
Meanwhile, at Shengping's home, they cook dinner promptly at six o'clock.
Xu Qiao called out to Sheng Ting, "Go and get the eggs that were delivered from the other village today. We'll boil eggs for your brother and grandfather tonight! Just get five."
Sheng Ting knew that she wasn't included in the five, but seeing a basket of eggs, she took out five and boiled them.
Xu Qiao was counting money in her room; it was all money sent by people from other villages to curry favor with Sheng Ping.
I never expected that I could get such an advantage by relying on that wretched girl, Sheng Qian.
Xu Qiao became happier and happier as she counted.
This money came for free!
But.
She couldn't help but feel jealous and envious when she thought about how much more money Shengli's family made than theirs.
Sheng Ting prepared the meal and took two eggs to Sheng Hongyang and Grandma Sheng. Xu Qiao came out of the room, glanced at the sky, calculated the time when Sheng Ping and Sheng Muchen went out, and said with some doubt, "It's already seven o'clock, and they haven't come back yet. Could they have been kept out for dinner? They're eating out and didn't even send a message home."
"I'm going out to take a look," Sheng Ting said, swallowing hard as she watched Sheng Hongyang and Grandma Sheng peeling eggs, their unique egg flavor filling the air. She buried her head and walked out.
"Go check with Shengli and see if he's come back."
Grandma Sheng, still worried, gave Xu Qiao a word of advice.
Xu Qiao took an egg and ate it as she walked out.
Sheng Guanhua and Luo Minjuan were also standing outside looking around. When they saw Xu Qiao chewing something as she walked towards them, Luo Minjuan frowned, but quickly smiled and said, "Sister-in-law."
"Sister-in-law, Shengli hasn't returned yet?"
Luo Minjuan shook her head: "It's almost dark, and he still hasn't come back. I wonder if something happened to him."
Xu Qiao laughed and said, "What could possibly happen? Going to my own niece's place, I wouldn't get beaten up, would I?"
These words immediately reminded Luo Minjuan of Sheng Qian's fighting prowess, and her heart sank.
Sheng Qian, that brat, has become so formidable without anyone noticing; several grown men are no match for her.
