The doctor was sent out by Long Yunting's third aunt, Deng Zhiying.
When Deng Zhiying met Hou Guifang's gaze as she entered, she shook her head slightly in acknowledgment.
Hou Guifang breathed a slight sigh of relief.
Her son still knows nothing.
"Yunting, how are you feeling today? Does your leg still hurt?"
Hou Guifang cheered up and a relaxed smile appeared on her face.
Long Yunting nodded slightly: "I feel much better today."
The sound quality is deep and rich, with a metallic quality.
“You’ve only been awake for a short time, and you’re badly injured, so we have to take it slow and not rush things.” Hou Guifang was afraid that Long Yunting would be anxious and overthink things, so she would always say a few words of comfort whenever she came to see him.
Long Yunting's deep gaze missed her and glanced towards the door.
When Hou Guifang saw Long Yunting looking outside, she felt a little flustered.
She was afraid that she had failed to keep it from him.
"How long will Dad be gone this time? Will the case he's in charge of be very difficult?"
Long Yunting looked at Hou Guifang and asked these questions.
Hou Guifang's body stiffened involuntarily.
"Your dad called and said he'll be staying a while longer; things over there are indeed a bit tricky. Don't you know how capable your dad is? He can handle even the most difficult situations. Xingzhou has gone over there. With them handling things outside, you can focus on recovering. By the way, your comrades visited you a while ago; do you want to call them back?" Hou Guifang couldn't take it anymore and quickly changed the subject.
Long Yunting's deep, dark eyes gazed silently at Hou Guifang.
Hou Guifang waited for a response, enduring her son's intense gaze.
Long Yunting nodded: "Then please call them back for me and tell them not to waste their time coming over."
"Okay, I'll call and let you know when I have time tomorrow. There was some soup in the kitchen today; the traditional Chinese medicine doctor said it's very helpful for bone growth. I'll bring you another bowl."
Long Yunting did not refuse: "Okay."
Hou Guifang quickly turned around and went out.
Long Yunting watched Hou Guifang's slightly hurried steps and fell into deep thought.
Judging from the cautious expressions on their faces each time they came in, it was clear that his family was hiding something from him.
It still concerns his father.
Long Yunting is now very confident.
His father, Long Haifeng, got into trouble.
On the day he regained consciousness, he had many questions he wanted to ask his family.
It was at that moment that he sensed something unusual.
All those questions were swallowed back down.
After several days of observation, he had determined who the person involved in the accident was.
The men in the family kept it a secret, but the younger siblings couldn't pretend to be nonchalant in front of him.
Needless to say, his mother was even worse off.
They always slip up.
She simply thought she had fooled him.
Long Yunting leaned back and closed his cold eyes.
He is not a fragile person, and there is no need to hide these things from him.
He had just woken up and was struggling to find clues, but he was somewhat exhausted.
The next day, Hou Guifang called Long Yunting's unit, then went inside to tell Long Yunting, who had just finished breakfast, so that he could rest assured.
"mom."
"Is there anything else?"
Hou Guifang quickly turned around.
After the servants left, Long Yunting pointed to the chair by the bed and said, "Please sit down."
Hou Guifang was taken aback, but still sat down. "Yunting, is there something you want to tell your mother?"
Long Yunting shifted his position, looked at Hou Guifang, and said seriously, "Tell me the truth, I'm not a teenager anymore."
Hou Guifang's smile froze instantly.
My heart is pounding.
"Mom doesn't know what you're talking about. What truth do you want me to tell?"
"How long do you and your family plan to keep Dad's matter a secret from me? Do you think I can't handle it?" Long Yunting's expression was quite serious.
Hou Guifang seemed to have been struck by something, and froze there.
Long Yunting asked patiently and slowly, "What happened to Dad?"
That's why they kept it from him.
Looking at her steady and mature son, Hou Guifang suddenly couldn't help but tear up.
Hou Guifang's eyes reddened, and Long Yunting reached out and patted her trembling shoulder.
In fact, in a hazy dream, someone told him about this, but he wasn't fully aware of it at the time and just thought he was dreaming.
Only after waking up and seeing his family's reactions could he be more certain that it wasn't a dream.
Hou Guifang suddenly let go of everything, and tears welled up in her eyes like a spring.
Then, choking back tears, she recounted that Long Haifeng had been given a death notice.
Long Yunting's face darkened. "You should have told me sooner."
“Your family is worried that you’ll overthink things if you hear this news. Yunting, Xingzhou has already gone out to find other renowned doctors. He’ll definitely be able to bring back the best doctors in the country.”
It's unclear whether she was saying this to comfort Long Yunting or to herself.
Long Yunting remained unusually calm and asked, "What about Western doctors from abroad? Have you brought them back to see us?"
"We consulted several doctors, but they all said they couldn't do anything and could only barely stabilize your father's condition."
Long Yunting said, "Please find me a wheelchair first."
"Yun Ting, what are you doing?"
"Let's go take a look."
"But……"
"Now that you know, you can't stay here any longer. Go and get it."
Hou Guifang had no choice but to go out and find a wheelchair.
*
The Song family.
Song Huayu walked into Madam Song's room and said impatiently, "Mom, when is Yan Shuze leaving?"
Madam Song glared at her daughter: "Isn't Shuze good-looking? Do you hate him that much? I think he's much better than that ice-cold Long Yunting."
