Zhao Niangen stammered as he explained what he had drawn.
“You need to brush up on your math skills,” Sheng Qian thought. “Having some talent isn’t enough; you need knowledge in this area.”
Zhao Niangen was disheartened upon hearing this.
He stood to one side with his head down, not knowing what to do.
Seeing his expression, Sheng Qian couldn't help but smile. "No need to hire a tutor, just brush up on your math on your own. I'll have Da Lin find some books on the subject for you in the county town. Just put in the effort and catch up whenever you have free time."
"I will try my best!"
Zhao Niangen's eyes were bright and sparkling. He looked rather handsome now that he had lost some of his sillyness!
Sheng Qian nodded: "If you don't work hard, no one will be able to understand your drawings in the future. Don't end up having to do things like cutting parts yourself."
Zhao Niangen's face turned even redder.
Who are you looking for?
A worker's question came from not far behind.
Sheng Qian turned her head to look.
But then they saw that Zhang Cuilian had somehow managed to slip through the barrier and enter the room.
Sheng Qian frowned immediately.
I repeatedly reminded myself not to let outsiders in casually.
It seems the person guarding the position didn't listen to what I said.
Sheng Qian walked over and glanced at Zhang Cuilian. "Who are you looking for?"
When Zhang Cuilian saw Sheng Qian, she smiled and said, "Sheng Qian, do you remember me? I'm here to see Da Lin. Is he here? Please help me deliver this to him."
"What's this."
Zhang Cuilian quickly replied, "This is some white cake I made myself!"
"Dalin isn't here. You should leave. This isn't a place for outsiders." Sheng Qian coldly dismissed him.
Zhang Cuilian frowned and said unhappily, "He must be here, how could he not be? Are you saying this on purpose? Just to prevent me from going in to find Dalin?"
Sheng Qian looked at her coolly.
Zhang Cuilian's heart skipped a beat.
Sheng Qian startled him and made him take a few steps back.
“This is not the place for you to shout. Don’t disturb everyone’s work,” Sheng Qian’s voice turned much colder. “I will hold whoever let you in accountable.”
Zhang Cuilian glared at him, "Sheng Qian, how could you do this? Even if I'm in the wrong, it's my fault. What right do you have to hold others responsible?"
"Just because the gatekeeper let you in without any protection, if you die here by accident, who will be responsible? Will the person who let you in be responsible?" Sheng Qian's voice was extremely cold, and the light in her dark eyes was like a series of cold blades slashing down, scaring Zhang Cuilian so much that she retreated and sat down on the ground with a thud.
Her pants were instantly stained black, especially the back of her buttocks.
It was also wet.
It looks like diarrhea.
The workers hauling coal in and out kept glancing this way.
Zhang Cuilian blushed with embarrassment.
Hearing Sheng Qian curse her and receiving strange looks from all directions, Zhang Cuilian was both ashamed and angry, and her eyes reddened.
She looked so pitiful, as if Sheng Qian had bullied her.
Sheng Qian stood there, looking at her coldly.
Zhang Cuilian was not a bold person either. She was so frightened by Sheng Qian's aura that she retreated repeatedly, her legs still trembling.
She grabbed the wooden food box, scrambled to her feet, and ran.
Why is she sitting here instead of leaving, letting everyone admire her embarrassing state with her butt covered in mud?
As Zhang Cuilian walked out while turning back, Sheng Qian's cold gaze remained fixed on her.
Once the others had left the area, she strode towards the guard post.
The person guarding the checkpoint knew Zhang Cuilian.
Because of some family connections, he was allowed in after being persuaded by Zhang Cuilian.
The guard at the post was a young man around twenty-five or twenty-six years old.
Because he was rather robust and was introduced by someone, Sheng Qian arranged this position for him.
The man's smile instantly lit up when he saw Sheng Qian: "Boss!"
Sheng Qian asked coldly, "Didn't you thoroughly read the rules and regulations?"
"ah?"
The man was unaware of what he had done wrong and didn't react for a moment.
Sheng Qian said, "Did you let Zhang Cuilian in? Do you know what the consequences will be if she wanders around like that?"
Without anyone to guide her, if she wanders off and falls into a well or goes to a dangerous place, who can save her?
The man's face turned deathly pale.
He only realized his mistake belatedly.
"Boss, I'm sorry, it's my fault."
"What does it say in the rules and regulations?"
"Those who allow entry without authorization or accompanying staff will be dismissed."
The man lowered his head and read one of the sentences aloud in a dry, monotone voice.
Sheng Qian looked at him.
The man slowly took off his uniform, which Sheng Qian had specially made for the regular staff of the coal mine.
Stylish and figure-flattering.
When the man received the clothes, he happily wore them home to show his family.
There are two shifts on duty, with two people assigned to each shift. If someone needs to take leave or there is any other matter, they can fill in for them.
This is just one of them.
He made a mistake while on duty today.
The man took off his uniform, put it in the guard post, and then left in silence.
He didn't utter a single word of complaint against Sheng Qian.
Because he did something wrong, he has to bear the consequences of his actions.
Sheng Qian turned around and ordered someone to take the man's place.
When the man returned home, the old lady couldn't help but ask in surprise, "Weiguo, why are you back so early today?"
He Weiguo sighed and recounted how he had let Zhang Cuilian in.
After listening, the old lady fell silent.
"It's my fault. The boss already said so, so it's no one else's fault," He Weiguo said somewhat sullenly.
