We've finally reached the cave. Although it's dark and we can't start a fire, at least we have shelter from the wind and rain, so we won't be exposed to the cold wind outside.
Randy and the others put their things down, and I climbed off Mickson and sat obediently on the ground.
"I can't walk anymore, I can't even see the road."
Cang Jue flew in a circle high in the sky, and was the one who could best feel the cold, icy snow.
"Let's just wait one more day. Did you see anyone chasing after us when you flew up?"
Miksen didn't care how strong the wind and snow were; what he cared about was whether the people sent by Beast City to hunt them down had tracked them down.
"No, there's not a soul in sight. They wouldn't be waiting here unless they knew we were hiding from them."
Cang Jue also kept an eye out for anyone tracking him. Despite the freezing cold, he flew in circles two or three times to make sure no one was following him.
There was no firewood to be found here, so they could only eat dried meat when they were hungry. The cave was dark, but with their company, Guo Xiaoxiao wasn't afraid.
"If Xiaoxiao can't gather any firewood today, I won't be able to boil water for you. If you're cold, come and snuggle into my arms."
If there was no hot water to drink, she would only have snow water. Guo Xiaoxiao shuddered at the thought of ice crystals in her mouth; she'd rather not drink water than eat any ice.
Guo Xiaoxiao simply snuggled into Mickson's arms, their bodies pressed together in warmth. Surprisingly, Cang Jue wasn't jealous and didn't try to compete for her attention.
He knew that Mickelson was warmer than him, and Guo Xiaoxiao felt very warm holding him.
Randy proposed
Let's take turns keeping watch tonight.
Mickelson agreed.
The snowstorm outside showed no signs of abating, making it absolutely impossible to leave; everyone gave up on the idea.
Guo Xiaoxiao had little appetite, and even when she needed to use the restroom, she had to be accompanied. With the wind and snow so heavy, Guo Xiaoxiao was afraid her bottom would freeze solid.
After finishing in the bathroom, he immediately pulled up his pants and hid in Mickson's arms.
…
Then everyone started to rest. Mickson, Randy, and Cangjue sat down to one side and began to discuss what to do next.
The Abirs listened without interrupting.
Guo Xiaoxiao was left out in the cold; they didn't even let her listen to their ideas. It wasn't that they were deliberately isolating her, but rather that they didn't want her to worry about anything.
This isn't something females should worry about. Guo Xiaoxiao just needs to eat well, sleep well, play well, and be free.
"hiss…"
Guo Xiaoxiao heard a faint hissing sound. At first, she didn't pay attention, thinking there was water in the cave. But after a while, she realized something was wrong; something was moving closer to her.
The thing was very, very light, so light that it was almost imperceptible. Mickson and the others were sitting far away, covering Guo Xiaoxiao so she could rest, and had no idea that it was already close to her.
Then Guo Xiaoxiao felt something slippery on her hand. Looking down, she saw a layer of greenish-blue skin.
Following her gaze, she saw a gigantic, coiled snake, its tongue flicking, its pair of bright green eyes fixed intently on her. Its enormous size was astonishing, and its body was covered in green scales that emitted a faint, eerie glow in the darkness.
Guo Xiaoxiao's mouth was open but she couldn't make a sound; she was terrified. She was most afraid of snakes, especially a super-sized python.
Oh my god!!!
"Mi, Mikelson"
Guo Xiaoxiao shouted, trembling.
Mickelson snapped out of his daze upon hearing her call.
"What's wrong?"
Cang Jue reacted the fastest. Upon seeing a large python beside Guo Xiaoxiao, he immediately stood up, rushed to her side to protect her, and warily watched the python while holding his bone knife.
The cave is now severely hindering Cang Jue's performance.
On land, pythons are no match for Cang Jue; in fact, one could say Cang Jue is their natural enemy.
The other males reacted quickly, rapidly preparing their defenses and surrounding Guo Xiaoxiao.
"How could there be a python?"
"Did you come in with them?"
"It must have been inside the cave all along; we just didn't find it."
Randy had already transformed into his beast form, he whispered.
"Be careful, everyone. Once you get entangled, it'll be hard to escape."
The python seemed completely uninterested in them, as if it possessed a spirit, showing interest only in Guo Xiaoxiao.
It slowly moved in front of her, its forked tongue flashing eerily in the lamplight. Its movements were incredibly swift; even the four orcs couldn't surround it.
Guo Xiaoxiao, seeing that it was coming for her, took a step back in panic, but tripped over a nearby rock and fell. Instead of a painful stomp on her bottom, she was instead caught in a vicious attack on her waist.
Randy was very close to Guo Xiaoxiao and wanted to bite the python's tail to snatch her back, but unfortunately, he failed. After coiling around Guo Xiaoxiao, the python quickly shrunk to the side, pulling her far away in an instant.
Cang Jue held the bone knife in his hand, his eyes sharp.
"He's not an ordinary python, he's a beastman."
The python stopped disguising itself and transformed into a half-human, half-snake beastman, binding Guo Xiaoxiao to its chest. Guo Xiaoxiao noticed the python's change and looked up, expecting to see a hideous face.
But that wasn't the case. The man's features were sharply defined, with blue eyes, a straight nose, and thin, rosy lips. He was handsome yet alluring, with long, snow-white hair that cascaded freely, making him look like a celestial being.
However, his face was now filled with a sinister look, and his eyes were filled with a bloodthirsty aura, which was inconsistent with his noble appearance.
Guo Xiaoxiao was restrained and unable to move. The man was too strong, and she couldn't struggle at all. She could only glare at him, trying to stop him with her eyes.
The python lowered its head and sniffed the scent from Guo Xiaoxiao's neck, revealing a wicked smile.
Guo Xiaoxiao was trembling with fear at his half-human, half-snake appearance, but she couldn't show too much terror, so she forced herself to speak.
