Carlos laughed and reached out to touch her back. Guo Xiaoxiao quickly dodged, but Carlos didn't mind. Instead, he smiled and said...
"Okay, I promise I'll come back with you. We can discuss anything."
Guo Xiaoxiao's heart, which had been hanging in suspense, finally settled, and her expression softened slightly. However, the pile of dismembered limbs on the ground was still terrifying.
"Let's go then."
Guo Xiaoxiao gave a cold reply, not even bothering to glance at Carlos.
Carlos didn't care at all; he shouted at the orcs.
"retreat"
With those two words of command, Guo Xiaoxiao was completely relieved; at least her orcs were safe.
But unexpectedly, Carlos wandered up to an orc and, out of Guo Xiaoxiao's sight, whispered something harshly.
"Charge in and kill them all!"
The orc nodded in agreement, and then Carlos carried Guo Xiaoxiao on his back, just as he had brought her to the Forgotten Continent the first time, quickly traversing the desert.
They advanced rapidly forward, leaving the orcs far behind.
The speed was too fast; Guo Xiaoxiao couldn't open her eyes and felt sand constantly assaulting her face.
The wind howled and the surroundings were filled with a whooshing sound.
Before Carlos returned to the cave, he didn't do anything inappropriate to Guo Xiaoxiao. Returning from the west to the east required crossing a forest.
After a short rest, they quickly left the forbidden land with Guo Xiaoxiao. What would normally take two days to reach the caves, they accomplished in just one and a half days.
The cave had taken in all the orcs, yet only Carlos returned, and no one asked him any further questions.
When the beastmen saw that Guo Xiaoxiao had also been brought back by him, their faces were filled with surprise and amazement. Even though her face was covered, they still couldn't forget her captivating beauty.
"Female, you're finally back."
"You can't escape. Just stay with our boss in the Forgotten Continent."
"She's just running off somewhere, but that thing she had last time was pretty powerful."
Carlos ignored them and took Guo Xiaoxiao directly back to their room, the same stone house they had stayed in together last time.
Carlos gently placed Guo Xiaoxiao on the mattress. Guo Xiaoxiao, her run was in vain, and she'd only caused a lot of trouble.
Guo Xiaoxiao has now decided that before figuring out the other party's strength, she should stay put to avoid getting into trouble and dragging them all down with her.
"Are you hungry? I'll go grill some meat for you."
Carlos finished speaking and walked out. Guo Xiaoxiao couldn't help but swallow hard when she heard about the barbecue; she was really hungry. The journey had been tiring, and she was feeling stressed all the time.
But now she needs to contact Mickelson and the others; Guo Xiaoxiao is calling out to Mickelson.
"Mickelson"
After waiting a couple of minutes without a response, Guo Xiaoxiao contacted Cang Jue again, but Cang Jue also didn't respond. What's going on? Are they all busy?
Or maybe we could try contacting Arthur and the others; communication shouldn't be a problem since they're a couple.
Guo Xiaoxiao used psychic communication to contact Arthur.
"Arthur, Arthur"
Arthur was still resting when he heard Guo Xiaoxiao's voice. He stood up and looked around.
There were only defeated and wounded orcs nearby, but no sign of Guo Xiaoxiao. Could I have misheard?
Arthur calmed down and sat back down to tend to his wounds. Guo Xiaoxiao tried calling out to him a few more times.
"Arthur, Arthur"
I finally heard it clearly, and it really was Guo Xiaoxiao's voice.
Arthur responded: "Xiaoxiao"
"The endless desert has no edge," Abil scoffed.
"He must be going crazy missing her."
He then looked down at the unconscious Randy and sighed; he had narrowly escaped death.
They fought their way out with great effort, suffering heavy losses. Mikson and Cangjue were covered in wounds and had fainted from blood loss. Arthur was also in bad shape.
The team of nearly 2,000 people dwindled to less than 500, all bearing wounds. Fortunately, they managed to escape; those in worse condition perished there.
"Arthur, did you guys run away?"
Guo Xiaoxiao heard Arthur's response and hurriedly asked, "Arthur, I don't know where Guo Xiaoxiao is, but I can hear her voice." He glanced at Cang Jue and Mikeson lying on the ground.
"We've broken through the encirclement, but we're on the other side of the desert. Where are you?"
Guo Xiaoxiao: I was safe in Carlos's cave; he didn't do anything to me.
Arthur: How can you talk to me from so far away?
Guo Xiaoxiao: I'll explain to you later. Once you're married to me, you can communicate this way and stay in touch. As for Mickelson and the others, I called them but they didn't respond.
Arthur concealed the truth, saying: "They're fine, don't worry, they're just too tired and fell asleep."
Guo Xiaoxiao: That's great! I'll talk to you later, he's coming in.

Carlos carried the roasted meat into the room and saw Guo Xiaoxiao staring blankly. He smiled slightly, walked over, and placed the stone plate in front of her.
Guo Xiaoxiao looked up at him; his face showed a faint weariness, as if he had just returned from the desert and was exhausted.
"Eat up, it's freshly baked."
Carlos handed her a piece of meat, gesturing for her to eat. Guo Xiaoxiao took the meat and took a bite. The meat was tender, smooth, and crisp, with an enticing sweet juice filling her mouth—it was delicious.
"It tastes good."
Guo Xiaoxiao praised, and Carlos glanced at the barbecue and said to Guo Xiaoxiao...

Despite the gentle voice, Guo Xiaoxiao sensed danger and quickly buried her head in her food, using it as a way to mask her nervousness.
Carlos watched her wolf down her food, chuckled, and changed the subject.
"I'll stay with you in the Forgotten Continent this winter, and next year I'll take you to even more fun places."
Guo Xiaoxiao gave a perfunctory answer.
"OK"
After finishing her meal, Guo Xiaoxiao asked to take a shower again, saying she hadn't showered in a long time and genuinely wanted to.
