Chapter 165 The Beast City is surrounded on all sides, and Ari brought lots of vegetables!

To be absolutely certain, Arthur had a feeling that Carlos wasn't just after the attack on Beast City; he would definitely come back to kidnap people. That snake beast was incredibly skilled; even scorpion venom couldn't kill him. It would be best to kill it.

"Just to be on the safe side, Mickson, Cangjue, we need to send only one person down each day. And Randy, is he settled in?"

Mickelson said, "They're all settled in the back hills, very close to Sishui."

Arthur nodded: "No matter what, we must be vigilant and have everyone on standby. If they attack, don't fight them head-on if you can't win. Even if we lose territory, we must ensure safety."

When Arthur said the last two words, he looked at Guo Xiaoxiao, and the other two understood perfectly.

A few days later, more orcs came and went, and the wolf-clan orcs were allowed to move freely.

They looked around, searching for any potential enemies. Arthur wasn't idle either, discussing their next move with the tribal chief. Although everything seemed to be going smoothly so far, who knew when that scoundrel Carlos would suddenly reappear?

Randy assigned the orcs to go out and find food. As winter drew to a close and everything came back to life, many animals had almost finished hibernating, making hunting relatively easy.

As time went on, more and more orcs fled outside, and some of them formed groups. These groups were composed of orcs of varying strengths.

Moreover, a few of them brought back news that Carlos was gathering orcs to challenge the Beast City.

Many of them came to seek refuge with the Yushan tribe, but were refused. The reason given was that they were unsure whether there were any spies among them. Mikesen or the tribe simply found them a place to stay in the jungle and then left them alone.

The Yushan tribe was busier than ever before, with orcs constantly coming and going. News of the attack on the beast city had spread throughout the continent, but it hadn't been breached so easily, and the battlefield was now in a stalemate.

Because Beast City said in winter that he needed the other tribes to find him food, unlike the Human King, some tribes just watched and gloated without helping at all. Let them be smug now, they can't be smug anymore!

The Beast City was caught completely off guard by this disaster. Everything was going smoothly when suddenly a mighty army descended from the sky and surrounded them.

A great war was inevitable, and all the kings were summoned to a castle to discuss the matter.

Beast King Lin Lin sat at the very top and spoke in a loud voice.

"The orcs from the Forgotten Continent dare to come to our ancient continent and even attack the Beast City; this is a blatant provocation."

Upon hearing him speak, even the breathing of those below softened considerably.

Lin Lin glanced around and noticed that many people's eyes were darting around, clearly showing a lack of trust in him, which angered him!

He suddenly stood up and roared, "Are you trying to be cowards? Where were you hiding when our warriors, our compatriots, were being bullied?"

The orcs lowered their heads, their expressions embarrassed.

Lin Lin continued shouting, "I don't care what you think, but today, I'm telling you this: if you dare to back down, I will personally kill you all, leaving no one alive."

The wolf king said noncommittally, "You lead the charge and fight your way out. If you can lead, we have nothing to say."

The Lion King chimed in, "You're the King of Beasts now, it's not appropriate for you to hide in the back. You tigers get the most and contribute the least, and then you drag us into this mess? Isn't that going too far?"

The Leopard King sneered, "If it really doesn't work out, let's replace you. You were just robbed to become the Beast King anyway. If you can't lead everyone, let's find someone else."

The eagle-clan orcs responded enthusiastically, while the tiger-clan orcs blushed.

Lin Lin was furious: "What did you say?"

Eagle King whispered, "Don't be impulsive, we can't fight now."

The orcs of Beast City are a disorganized mess, incapable of forming a significant force; the relationships between the orcs are fraught with tension, with none willing to submit to the others.

Every order must be in everyone's best interest. Of course, everyone agrees to divide the food seized from other tribes equally. But who wants to lose their tribe members when leading a battle?

…………

Guo Xiaoxiao was busy in the cave, making the beds and sorting the dried meat. She was basically the one doing all the cooking for the three of them.

Although they told Guo Xiaoxiao not to overwork herself, she felt she needed to put in some effort.

At least she could cook them a nice meal with meat and vegetables. It's a pity there weren't enough vegetables; some white radish would have been so nice—it would make a delicious soup!

Guo Xiaoxiao couldn't help but swallow, as if she could already smell the aroma of meat.

Although they were supposed to guard her, they didn't have enough manpower, so in the end all three went out. Guo Xiaoxiao was at the back mountain, and to get to her position, one had to cross the field, which was still quite safe.

Furthermore, being close to the eagle beasts and wolves means they'll be the first to detect any movement.

After some persuasion from Guo Xiaoxiao, they reluctantly went out to run errands.

The most severely affected were the Jumping Orc tribes; with so many Orcs fleeing, they gradually set their sights on the territory of the Herbivores.

Being relatively weak, they launched several nighttime attacks, inflicting heavy casualties on the Jumping Beasts.

Fortunately, they were clever enough to use stones and clubs to attack, and their large numbers meant they couldn't be defeated by a small group.

But living in such an unstable environment couldn't go on forever. So their leader, Ari, along with several orcs, arrived with animal-skin bags filled with vegetables, seeking help.

The orcs guarding outside the Yushan tribe stopped them.

"We will not allow any foreign orcs to enter at this time."

Ari said, "I am a friend of your chieftain. I need to see Miksen. Tell him my name is Ari."

The orc hesitated for a moment but still notified them. As long as they weren't there to cause trouble, they should be allowed to see them.

As expected, Mickson did not refuse to let Ari bring his men in.

Ari walked up to Mickson: "Mickson, you have to help us."

Mickson raised his eyes to look at Ari, who was leading several jumping orcs, carrying large sacks and looking like they were fleeing a disaster.

"What's wrong?"

Ari said with distress, "We were attacked by orcs from the western continent. I had no other choice but to come to you."

It's a bit tricky. Miksen can't even manage his own manpower, and on top of that, they also need to coordinate with the Western Continent to find places to join the orcs.

In principle, he doesn't allow foreign orcs to live here anymore. The fact that a few cunning orcs from the Forgotten Continent have managed to sneak in could be a big or small matter.

But I still want to help Ari.

Ari noticed Miksen's hesitation and assumed it was about payment. They, the Jumping Orcs, didn't have many vegetables, but carnivorous orcs didn't like them.

But Arui really had no other treasures left, so he had to try his luck. If he had no other choice, who would be willing to beg someone like this?

He turned around and said

"Everyone, put the things down and let Chief Yushan take a look."

The jumping beastmen behind him immediately laid out their goods: vegetables, wood, animal hides, potatoes, radishes, tomatoes, and lots of corn.

The yellow sticks were Guo Xiaoxiao's favorite, as were the red berries. Mikesen remembered that Xiaoxiao really liked those, but who could eat so many? Their main food was meat; they didn't need so many vegetables.
