Ji Xing, led by Randy, and his beastmen first trekked through mountains and rivers, breaking through the encirclement of the wandering beasts, and finally reached her beach.
The seaside is very close to Beast City; it only takes a day's journey to reach it.
The fish and beasts patrolling here saw Linzhi and went down to inform him.
The sea is vast, inhabited by various fish-like creatures. These creatures are highly intelligent beings, capable of producing salt and mining seabed minerals. They resemble modern mermaids in appearance and can even sprout legs when on land. Although they are fish, they are quite ferocious, with pointed mouths and tail fins; wounds inflicted by them are difficult to heal.
Normally, the fish-beasts wouldn't attack other orcs or stay ashore, but today was different; they were coming ashore in groups.
Lin Zhi stood on the shore, watching the surging waves in the sea, and hearing terrifying screams echoing from the ocean floor. She frowned.
"Won't this trigger another tsunami?"
"Linzhi, come over here a bit."
Ji Xing shielded Lin Zhi behind him.
After several mermaids transformed into legs and stepped ashore, the sea calmed down.
Randy, Abil, and many of the orcs who were with them were seeing fish-beasts for the first time and were quite shocked.
"Linzhi, I miss you so much!"
A clear, elegant male voice pierced the eardrums; a handsome man...
He had light blue hair, fair and delicate skin, a straight nose, and thin, rosy lips. He exuded a faint fragrance and wore a long blue robe with a string of bronze bells hanging from his waist.
The robes worn by the other fish-beasts all appeared to be quite valuable, and their appearances were characterized by beauty and elegance.
Upon seeing the man, Linzhi said, "Don't rush to get close to me."
The man pulled out a wooden carving of flowers from his robes, as if presenting a treasure; it was lifelike and clearly a fine piece.
"Here, this is for you."
Ji Xing almost snatched the things and threw them on the ground. He even had the nerve to call Lin Zhi by name! If it weren't for him, would they even be in the Northern Hemisphere? If it weren't for needing him to do some favors, he'd probably punch him a couple of times.
"Qianye, quickly bring my people here!"
Beast City can't function without gathering manpower.
When Qianye saw Jixing, her smiling face fell, and she said arrogantly...
"Heh, what a joke! You think you can just tell me to transport it? You've got some nerve. You'd be begging me on your knees."
Lin Zhi spoke before Ji Xing could get angry.
"Please send it over first, we have an urgent matter."
Qianye smiled again: "Do you want me to bring it over?"
"certainly"
"Then mate with me first, and I'll transport it for you right away."
Ji Xing, Yun Ying is fed up! How dare you, a lowly scoundrel, marry Lin Zhi? It's all his fault! What's he so smug about?
Lin Zhi stopped the two enraged men and looked at Qian Ye, saying...
"Isn't there any other way?"
Qianye thought there was hope.
"Ahem, just this one."
Lin Zhi decisively said, "Forget it then, Ji Xing, let's go, let's ignore him."
They're gone?! Qianye panicked as soon as she heard that.
"Hey, don't go!"
Ji Xing ignored him and pulled Lin Zhi away, but Lin Zhi didn't even look back at him.
"I'll help you transport it, okay? Please transport it."
Qianye compromised; he was afraid Linzhi wouldn't like him.
Lin Zhi stopped, turned around, and said coldly, "Really?"
"Um"
Everyone said in unison, "Then let's go quickly!"
Okay, wait for my message.
After saying that, Qianye turned and left in a hurry, jumping back into the sea with several fish-beasts.
…
Carlos has received news that a group of people have crossed the continent and reached the coast. Their exact identities are unknown, but it is known that among them is the five-star wolf beast Randy and an unknown Reverse Star Ringed Tiger beast.
Miksen, Cang Jue, and several others have gone missing. Arthur is a well-known figure, but those who saw him all say that the Reverse Star Ring Tiger Beast is not Arthur, but someone else entirely.
Where did this come from? Carlos was completely baffled. Besides Arthur, where else could there be a Reverse Star Ring in the ancient continent, and another tiger beast?
"Ackra, take some men and go check it out."
Accra replied, "Yes, boss."
Carlos rubbed his temples. He had no idea whether Arthur and the others were dead or alive, and he couldn't feel at ease until he saw their bodies.
Back at the castle, Guo Xiaoxiao kept tossing and turning on the mat. Lately, she'd been getting increasingly lazy, lying around all day, not wanting to move, and constantly craving food.
Carlos kept feeding her; seeing her would lift his spirits, as if all his troubles had vanished.
After five or six days, anyone could notice something was wrong. Guo Xiaoxiao felt something was off; she not only wanted to eat, but her stomach was also rumbling frequently, as if something was moving inside. Carlos stopped forcing her to eat anything nourishing and stopped touching her.
With a heart full of trepidation, she mustered her courage and asked Carlos.
"Carlos, am I pregnant?"
Carlos was slightly taken aback upon hearing this; she had actually guessed it. He had intended to tell her after everything had settled down, but since she had asked, he decided to tell her anyway.
"Yes, we're pregnant."
"Ahhh!" Guo Xiaoxiao screamed inwardly. "Oh my god, I'm pregnant!" She almost fainted. So many attempts had failed; could it be that all those attempts had worked out and she'd finally conceived? She grabbed Carlos and frantically asked...
"What are you going to give birth to? Will a snake crawl out of your belly?"
Carlos, knowing what she was afraid of, comforted her.
"No, it's a snake egg, it won't hurt much."
"oh"
Guo Xiaoxiao relaxed a bit. She touched her stomach, still feeling uncomfortable, but she insisted on getting out of bed and walking around. Carlos couldn't persuade her otherwise, so he helped her and followed her.
Actually, Guo Xiaoxiao was completely dazed. She lacked even the most basic mental preparation for pregnancy, and then the baby came—a snake, no less…my god…
She felt a pressure in her abdomen and gently touched it. It was strange; her stomach was perfectly flat, so why was there a sudden bulge? She pressed down on it.
