With just one sentence, she felt a sense of reality; Guo Xiaoxiao truly believed that he was standing right in front of her.
Carlos lifted her chin and kissed away her tears.
He gently wiped away her tears with his fingers, his movements so tender, as if he were treating the most precious treasure in the world.
He gently kissed Guo Xiaoxiao's lips.
His tongue traced her pearly teeth, constantly probing into her mouth to find the sweet taste, while his hands cupped her head, pressing his lips tightly against hers.
Guo Xiaoxiao closed her eyes, savoring this beautiful moment.
"Hiss hiss hiss..." The little snake's hissing sound rang out untimely from the side.
Guo Xiaoxiao shoved Carlos aside. Right, Randy's still outside. If he finds Carlos, she'll have to go back and tell Arthur and the others.
Wouldn't that be disastrous? Arthur's temper means he won't let Carlos off the hook; there won't be any stopping him then, and Guo Xiaoxiao won't allow anything bad to happen.
We need to find a suitable opportunity to slowly guide Arthur and the others; they definitely won't be able to accept being taken back suddenly.
Carlos was pushed aside, and before he could do anything else, he looked completely bewildered.
"Xiaoxiao?"
He was puzzled. Why did she push him away? Wasn't she enjoying it just now?
Guo Xiaoxiao looked at him and said in a serious tone
"Not yet, wait a little longer. You forgot about removing the beast seals; they're still alive."
Carlos is the biological father of the little snakes, and they can communicate in a special way, which is why the little snakes come to him.
She cleverly lured Randy away, all to create an opportunity for her biological father.
Carlos wasn't afraid; he figured he could fight if necessary. He hadn't originally intended to share Guo Xiaoxiao with them, but he had reflected on his past actions and realized that having her all to himself wasn't realistic.
"You're afraid I can't beat them?"
"That's not what I meant. I don't want you two to fight. Here's what we'll do: I'll go out first and take Randy back to Beast City. As for you, don't stay in the back mountain. Go find a place to hide outside Beast City so it'll be easier for us to meet."
then
"It's best to be cautious. Wait until I've done some psychological work with them before you formally meet them."
"I didn't want this to happen either, but there's nothing I can do. What you did before was inhuman; you'd be executed anywhere. Just bear with it for a bit. I'm leaving now."
Carlos was annoyed; he'd finally managed to see her, and now he was leaving?
"We've only just met, and I have so much to tell you. Can't you stay here with me?"
Guo Xiaoxiao really wanted to stay with Carlos, but to avoid conflict, she had to prioritize the bigger picture and take Randy back first; he was definitely out there trying to find someone else.
Given Randy's keen sense of smell, finding her was only a matter of time. After much deliberation, Guo Xiaoxiao still believed that Carlos should not show himself for the time being.
"I'll stay with you, but not now. After I leave, remember to sneak out of Beast City. The little snake should be able to find you."
Judging from the little snake's attitude, Guo Xiaoxiao knew it wouldn't lure her there, and the truth became clear.
Carlos nodded: "Yes, they can find my location."
That would be wonderful.
Guo Xiaoxiao hurriedly said, "Children, come with me quickly!"
“Um… Xiaoxiao…”
Carlos wanted to say a few more words, just a couple of kisses? We haven't even gotten to the important stuff yet; we need to put the beast mark back on!
"Carlos, wait a moment before coming out. Don't rush out yet."
The two were reunited. The little snake, no longer reluctant to leave, hissed a greeting to Carlos and followed Guo Xiaoxiao out of the cave.
There are too many winding roads in the desolate wilderness.
Guo Xiaoxiao couldn't find her way for a moment, but fortunately, the little snakes were in contact and guided her through the water. Soon, she arrived at the riverbank. This was the same river where she had fallen in before; it was crystal clear but unfathomably deep.
As expected, Randy found Guo Xiaoxiao quickly; his keen sense of smell made finding her no problem.
The four small snakes he had just been chasing were running wildly everywhere. Randy finally managed to catch them and immediately turned back to find Guo Xiaoxiao, but she was no longer there.
Although it's close to Beast City and safe, what if a female gets lost? He'd be the one going crazy.
"Xiaoxiao, where did you go? You scared me to death!"
Randy said, "The little snakes are meeting up. Ignore the two of them and start playing by myself."
Guo Xiaoxiao smiled shyly.
"They were naughty and wandered off everywhere. I looked for them for quite a while, and now that I've found them, I've come back to find you."
Randy's nose twitched; he smelled a scent that didn't belong to Guo Xiaoxiao. She had other smells on her too.
Did you run into anyone else?
Guo Xiaoxiao realized he could smell it; his nose was incredibly sensitive! It was a shame he wasn't a police dog. She moved back.
"I didn't run into anyone else. What happened?"
Randy: "The smell on you isn't ours, nor is it the little snake's."
He didn't question Guo Xiaoxiao; he simply voiced the questions that had been nagging at him.
Guo Xiaoxiao waved her hand: "No, you smelled it wrong. There's no one here except you and me."
Randy shook his head; he'd never been wrong about the smell, it wasn't anything good.
"Xiaoxiao, have you fallen for someone else?"
Guo Xiaoxiao stared wide-eyed at Randy.
"What nonsense are you talking about? There's no one here!"
"Who exactly is it?"
"Really, there's nobody here. Let's go back first. Aren't you hungry?"
Guo Xiaoxiao tried to distract herself and pulled Randy away. The closer they got, the more Randy could confirm Guo Xiaoxiao's scent. He wanted to lean in and sniff her again, but Guo Xiaoxiao became wary and kept her distance.
She wondered, if Randy could smell it, could Mickson and the others? She put her hand to her nose and sniffed; there was no smell.
She focused her gaze on the river's surface, and, without hesitation, jumped in. She washed herself a couple of times; that should be enough, right?
With a splash, water sprayed everywhere.
Xiaoxiao
Randy panicked and shouted as she jumped into the river without warning.
Why did you jump down again?
The little snakes were terrified on the shore and prepared to dart into the water one by one to rescue their mother.
Upon hearing this, Guo Xiaoxiao immediately surfaced. Last time she wasn't prepared, but this time her leg didn't cramp, so she was able to float.
"I'll catch two more fish."
How could Randy let her stay in the water forever? He reached out and pulled her out, took off the animal skin and wrapped it around her, with a hint of reproach.
"If you don't want to talk about that orc, you don't have to jump into the water, right? I'll never bring you to the back mountain again."
Guo Xiaoxiao lowered her head guiltily, not daring to look at Randy, while still making excuses.
"I...I just wanted to catch two more fish."
"Okay, I won't ask anymore, let's go back."
Randy carried Guo Xiaoxiao and the little snakes back to Beast City. To keep her warm, Randy boiled a large basin of water for Guo Xiaoxiao so she could take a hot bath first.
During dinner that evening, several males heard about Guo Xiaoxiao falling into the river and asked her about it with concern.
