Chapter 249: Teaming up with the little snake, they successfully escaped once again.

After several days of not seeing him, Carlos couldn't wait any longer. Meeting was meant to be together, so what was the point of talking remotely all the time?

Guo Xiaoxiao calmed Carlos down and told him not to act impulsively; she would do more to persuade him.

They follow me every step of the way, leaving me no room to slip up.

The four displayed unprecedented unity, organization, and discipline.

What should we do? If we don't go out and meet them soon, Carlos will definitely storm into the Beast City. He's capable of doing that.

That would have taken a turn for the worse.

Guo Xiaoxiao sat on the cushion, propping her head up with her hand, sullenly thinking of a solution.

System open

[System: Good afternoon, host]

Guo Xiaoxiao: I'm not doing well.

Randy, watching the little snake play and keeping an eye on her, sighed.

[System: Just tell them the truth, why don't you just tell them Carlos has been resurrected?]

Guo Xiaoxiao: It's easier said than done. If you injure him, that's one thing; if you kill him, who's responsible? He's already died once.

[System: It's unlikely they'll kill them. You stand by and stop them; they'll know what's good for them.]

Guo Xiaoxiao: You underestimate them. They hate Carlos to the core, but that's human nature. Put yourself in their shoes; if I were them, I would hate Carlos too.

[System: Be ready with healing spells at any time. If Carlos is on his last breath, apply a buff to him.]

Guo Xiaoxiao: What I'm worried about is that they won't let me see Carlos at all.

[System: But we still need to see them.]

Guo Xiaoxiao: I know, aren't you worried about how to meet people?

[System: Keep up the good work!]

Guo Xiaoxiao: I don't see you usually, so you suddenly opened your contact to cheer me up, right? Is there nothing else you need to talk to me about?

[System: Yes, we're sending you something.]

It's definitely not something good. She tensed up a bit. Guo Xiaoxiao: What?! I'm really scared of you. Every time you give me something, it never seems like anything good is going to happen.

Next: And that "tolerance," it should be renamed "endurance/fuck," it's clearly intentional.

[System: You can't say that. Just tell me how practical it is. Even if you do it ten times a night, you'll still be full of energy. It integrates really well with the skill.]

Guo Xiaoxiao: Pah! Who wants that kind of skill?

[System: You already have five husbands, taking turns with them. If I don't increase your tolerance, can you handle it? Think about how you used to need herbal medicine to cope with the backache and soreness the next day. Now...]

Guo Xiaoxiao thought about it and realized that it made sense; endurance skills were indeed useful.

Okay, I won't hold you accountable then. What are you going to give me this time?

[System: Powerful skill, Broad Gills]

Guo Xiaoxiao: What is it used for?

[System: Underwater Breathing]

Guo Xiaoxiao asked bluntly: Will I be flooded later?

[System: Why would you ask that?]

Guo Xiaoxiao: The situation is clear now. You have the ability to foresee the future. Giving you this skill is clearly intentional.

[System: Host, you're overthinking it, hehe]

Guo Xiaoxiao: Give it to me. If I really get flooded, it might be of help.

The skill granted to Guo Xiaoxiao caused her to space out again, and Randy would glance at her every now and then with an ambiguous expression.

"It's so incredibly boring," Guo Xiaoxiao said.

"Go out for a walk"

Randy: "We can only stay in the city; we can't go outside."

"knew"

Guo Xiaoxiao answered dejectedly.

The two arrived at a secluded alley in the Beast City. The little snakes tried to use the same trick again, splitting into two groups and running around randomly. Guo Xiaoxiao understood their intentions.

"Oh no, Randy, the snake ran away! Quick, chase after it!"

Randy remained unmoved and followed Guo Xiaoxiao closely.

"Beast City is safe, let them run away."

Um... Guo Xiaoxiao was still unwilling to give up.

"They're still young, they can't get lost. Here, you look that way, I'll go this way."

Before he could take two steps, he was pulled back.

Randy's attitude was firm: "No."

"What should we do? I'm worried."

"Don't worry, the little snakes are very clever. Just leave them alone."

Guo Xiaoxiao was extremely anxious.

"Randy!"

Randy was determined; he wouldn't let Guo Xiaoxiao act alone.

"I'll help you search wave after wave, let's go."

Randy took Guo Xiaoxiao's hand and led her in the direction the little snake had slithered. Guo Xiaoxiao struggled a few times but couldn't break free, so she simply let him. They reached a fork in the road.

Seeing their plan fail, the little snakes slowly gathered and swam back. Guo Xiaoxiao really wanted to just say it; holding it in was too much of a struggle.

Randy noticed that Guo Xiaoxiao was sullen.

"Where does he live? If you want to see him, I'll go with you."

Guo Xiaoxiao dodged the question

"Who lives where? I don't know what you're talking about."

Randy: "Xiaoxiao doesn't need to hide anything from me. I won't tell them."

"I don't believe you for a second. You're just trying to get me to talk, Randy. You're not an honest man anymore," Guo Xiaoxiao said.

"There's nothing to hide, so don't ask anymore."

Randy paused for a moment, then said, "Whatever."

He said, "Are you thirsty? I'll go get you some water."

It's alright, Guo Xiaoxiao thought Randy wanted a drink of water and just casually mentioned it.

"Give me some."

He nodded and left to fetch water, not taking her with him. Guo Xiaoxiao stood there for a few seconds, then thought, "Huh! Aren't I alone?"

She left quietly, and would return quietly without anyone noticing. Guo Xiaoxiao chuckled sinisterly, and slipped away.

Randy hadn't walked far when he heard a sound behind him. He wanted to see what kind of male could make Xiaoxiao go to such lengths.

He quickly followed.

Guo Xiaoxiao wasn't very good at counter-surveillance, but she wasn't stupid. The little snake subtly hinted that someone was behind her, and she kept peeking back with her little head.

Hmph, I knew it wouldn't be that smooth. Guo Xiaoxiao led Randy in circles, staying within the Beast City without leaving. Randy followed, observing the changes in their surroundings.

Could the adulterer be hiding here?

Guo Xiaoxiao walked ahead, occasionally exchanging a few words with the little snake.

"Don't go too far. Randy will bring us water later. We'll just play for a bit, otherwise Randy won't be able to find us."

It was obviously meant for Randy to hear; the little snake was getting annoyed by circling around.

Little Snake Armor: "Why does he keep following me?"

Little Snake C: "I have a serious illness that I can't shake off."

Little Snake B: "Maybe he's female, and he likes to play with females."

The little snakes: ...

Little Snake A: "Fifth Brother, you'd better shut up. Why don't you go and study the differences between females and males yourself?"

Little Snake Ding: "Sixth Brother, Third Brother, you take Seventh and Eighth Brothers to entangle him, we'll take the mother beast to find the father beast."

...

...

The little snake split into two groups again. Guo Xiaoxiao knew he was quite intelligent, so she stopped worrying. She pretended not to see them and looked up at the clouds in the sky.

Randy was so focused on following Guo Xiaoxiao that he didn't notice several small snakes had already slithered up to him. He took a step forward, tripped, and fell to the ground.

Guo Xiaoxiao heard a cry of surprise, "Ouch!" and the little snake began to slither away quickly. Guo Xiaoxiao also took off running.

Randy noticed Guo Xiaoxiao had walked away and wanted to get up and chase after her, but the little snake had wrapped around his legs. It was Guo Xiaoxiao's child, and Randy didn't dare to be too rough; if he hurt it, it would be his fault.

The footsteps faded into the distance, and Randy was filled with frustration. Who was it?!
