A thousand nights of whimsical questions
"Hey, dream about it again. When will Linzhi and I finally get married? Hmm, see if she misses me."
"Hehe, even if you could have precognitive dreams, you couldn't be that detailed. It's not like you're trying to read people's minds," Guo Xiaoxiao said.
"I'll tell you more if I dream about it. Usually, dreams about emergencies mean things won't work out, but what you're saying is basically impossible."
Chiya: "Sigh, how can this not be an emergency? It's extremely urgent! Becoming partners is a big deal!"
Arthur intervened
"Shut up, let Xiaoxiao rest. She just woke up from a coma, why are you asking so many questions?"
Chiya pouted, feeling awkward.
"I'm just curious, you all seem to have females in your arms, but me? I've only hugged one and haven't even joined them yet, it's so boring."
Those females who live far away are unreachable, and Qianye suffers agonizingly watching them every day, but no one knows the torment he endures.
Carlos sat on the mattress, gazing at Guo Xiaoxiao.
"You really don't want me to take you back?"
Guo Xiaoxiao stubbornly shook her head. "We've come this far; there's no way we're going to turn back. On the battlefield, deserters aren't allowed to fight!"
"No, I want to stay with you. Let that orc find me and tear me to pieces!"
Seeing that Guo Xiaoxiao had given such guidance, Arthur stopped trying to persuade her.
"Stay by our side at all times, never leave our side."
"I know I never left."
Thinking of Guo Xiaoxiao riding her leopard past him, Arthur was terrified. She was too reckless, charging forward despite the danger. Even if she knew witchcraft, she shouldn't be so impulsive.
"They can't act alone; they have to tell me in advance."
Guo Xiaoxiao said obediently
"Uh-huh"
Ian's problem needs to be addressed quickly; we can't afford to delay any longer. We need to cure Ian as soon as possible and reclaim their abilities.
Guo Xiaoxiao rested for a few more hours and ate some meat, which restored her strength.
"I'll go see Ian again and talk to him about something."
Carlos and Arthur followed Guo Xiaoxiao to find him, ostensibly to accompany her, but in reality to monitor her.
Guo Xiaoxiao was determined to make things right for Ian, and arranged for them to stay outside, not allowing them to come in.
These actions triggered a series of chain reactions, including the desire to meet with Ian alone. How could this be allowed?
Guo Xiaoxiao patiently and earnestly explained to them
"There's nothing between him and me. I need to talk to him alone. You guys wait for me outside, okay? Don't come in."
Ian, sitting inside the tent watching Guo Xiaoxiao's actions, was initially confused. Once he realized what was happening, he slightly turned his face away, his back to them.
Carlos has always been suspicious of the relationship between Guo Xiaoxiao and Ian, mainly because they had an ambiguous relationship and were even in the same tent together. How could he not have wild thoughts?
Arthur had harbored only slight doubts on the way here. During their first battle, Ian and the others had spoken some incomprehensible, nonsensical words. He'd been too busy to ask afterwards what was going on, and why they had to stay in the same tent without being allowed to see each other.
Carlos looked displeased.
"Is it something you're ashamed of? Why are you asking us to guard the door for you?"
Guo Xiaoxiao couldn't find a suitable reason, so she had to say
"Tribal matters are very private. Ian has discussed them with me; they can't be told to outsiders. I'm the high priest, after all, and others trust me so much."
Arthur: Really?
Carlos quickly answered, "Fake." Then he continued, "Xiaoxiao, you and Ian were in a secluded corner behind my back, practically naked, almost entangled together. Now you want to be alone with him? I didn't want to say this in front of Tiger to save you face, but you've gone too far."
Guo Xiaoxiao swallowed a mouthful of saliva.
That's a misunderstanding, you've mistaken me for someone else.
Carlos noticed the subtle movement.
"The facts are right in front of you. The tribe's veterinarian, Tur, saw it all. Are you going to call him here for a face-to-face confrontation?"
Arthur stood frozen, as if struck by lightning. How could he be so stupid? Guo Xiaoxiao was still up to her wicked desires and wanted a male. What a close call! She almost cheated on him with another one.
He grabbed Guo Xiaoxiao's hand and pulled her back.
"Let's go back, we're never coming back."
drag her away
Carlos chased after him, calling out, "Wait, be gentle!"
Guo Xiaoxiao was being held by Arthur and couldn't break free, so she got angry.
"What are you doing? Let go of me! Ian and I have something to discuss. Don't interfere."
Arthur looked at Guo Xiaoxiao incredulously: "I'm causing trouble?"
Guo Xiaoxiao: "Yes, they don't listen to what I'm saying properly; they just believe everything they hear."
Arthur's chest ached with anger. It had become his fault; he was furious and couldn't forgive her. He abruptly released her.
Guo Xiaoxiao lost her balance and fell to the ground, wincing in pain. Arthur, however, turned his head away and didn't notice Guo Xiaoxiao had fallen.
Carlos ran over, helped Guo Xiaoxiao up, and asked with concern.
"How are you? Where does it hurt?"
Guo Xiaoxiao rubbed her bottom and glared at Arthur. "Hmph, unreasonable!" Carlos not only scolded...
"Why don't you talk this out? Why resort to violence?"
Actually, Arthur didn't actually lay a hand on her. His strong possessiveness was at play; when he saw Guo Xiaoxiao fall, his first instinct was to rush over and check on her.
Are you alright? I didn't mean to.
Seeing her aggrieved look, Arthur's heart softened; he had indeed been too agitated just now.
Guo Xiaoxiao slapped his hand away and said angrily.
"fine"
Carlos stood by, grinning maliciously.
"Tiger, you go first. I'll stay with Xiaoxiao."
Guo Xiaoxiao glared at Carlos and said irritably
"And you, go with him too. I don't need either of you to accompany me."
Carlos is innocent
"Xiaoxiao, I didn't lay a hand on you, why are you angry with me?"
Guo Xiaoxiao: "Hmph..."
She went into the tent, lowered her head, and said a few words to Ian, roughly meaning, "You're fast; carry me to a secluded place and I'll treat your illness."
Ian whispered a thank you. Although her job was to help the males regain their beast-like abilities, he was still very grateful to her.
Carlos and Arthur stared intently at them, their faces grim, standing at a considerable distance as they confronted each other.
Ian transformed into a leopard, with Guo Xiaoxiao riding on his back. Ian accelerated, and in a flash, he sped past them and disappeared from sight.
The two of them were left staring at each other.
Guo Xiaoxiao was a little scared when she saw their dark faces. Would they be angry when they got back? But she decided to ignore it; she was thinking of the bigger picture.
They arrived at a secluded corner, even more remote than the grove, where no one would ever come. The two entered the cave together, and the dim environment made Guo Xiaoxiao's heart skip a beat.
Without specifying the reason, it's very suggestive; a lone man and woman alone in a room—it seems problematic from any angle.
Guo Xiaoxiao had just experienced a life-or-death race; her hair was completely messed up by the wind. After fixing her hair, her hips ached from the bumpy ride.
The person was almost thrown away
Ian said apologetically
"It's all because of me. Your males must be very bothered by this. If you help me heal, you'll restore their beast-like abilities. Don't worry, we made a promise, and I will never betray it."
