Chapter 384 Beast City Falls, Nowhere to Escape, Guo Xiaoxiao Reaches a Safe Stronghold

"Stop pushing! Someone's collapsed and can't get in. Block the city gate; nobody's allowed in!"

"Get out of here!"

Some orcs are quite clever; they'll step on the bodies of those who block their way to advance.

Although some people were trampled and even had their feet broken, it's still better than not being able to get in at all.

This move immediately sparked public outrage; it seems everyone is now disregarding all consequences and only thinking of themselves.

The orc pushed one person down, knocked him over, and then pushed another person over.

With help from behind, both of them fell to the ground in the shoving and groaning.

Upon seeing someone fall, they all followed suit, immediately stomping on the fallen orc's chest and grinding it down forcefully, causing chaos...

In a desperate struggle to enter the city, amidst a stampede, some orcs finally managed to squeeze into the beast city.

So far, no one has discovered that the Beast City is deserted.

All eyes were fixed on the area outside the city gate, where the food shelves were piled high with chunks of meat, as well as some wild vegetables and fruits.

The orcs entering the city were starving; their eyes were green with rage, and they seemed ready to pounce and take a big bite.

"It's meat! It's meat..."

This scene excited the already hungry orcs even more, and they all rushed towards the pile of meat, unable to contain themselves, and joined in to grab the meat.

More and more orcs surged forward; the orcs had gone mad.

The pile of food was high, but there wasn't actually much, because there were too many orcs outside the city. It wasn't enough to go around, and the orcs who got the food didn't share with others, causing a scramble.

The parasites, while not directly harming the orcs, trampled and killed many in the chaos, leaving them mangled and gruesome. This attracted even more people to join, and once the chaos began, there was no possibility of it stopping.

The orcs went mad, attacking each other recklessly. One by one, they fell; death was the only outcome.

This situation continued for a long time, until one of the orcs calmed down and realized something was wrong.

"Where is everyone? Why is there no one in the city?"

"Yeah, there wasn't a sound at all."

"I saw it too! Where did they go?!"

The orcs stopped, puzzled. Everything was fine yesterday, how could the city be deserted in the blink of an eye?

There wasn't a trace of human life in the entire city; not even a single orc could be seen.

Apart from these outsiders, it had become a ghost town; nothing was left, absolutely nothing. It was spotless, as if it had been looted.

One of the orcs frowned; he felt it wasn't accidental, but premeditated, but unfortunately, no evidence could be found.

"They must have abandoned us and run away, taking everything usable with them."

"Even without the protective shield, the parasites can still fly in."

As they were talking, some of the orcs had an attack, convulsing and collapsing to the ground, their bodies splitting open with tiny holes from which parasites flew out.

It crawled all over his skin, burrowed into his ears and nostrils, and gnawed at his muscles.

The orc roared in agony, clutching his head, collapsing to the ground, and struggling.

One after another, the orcs fell ill, not only physically but also mentally, and they gradually collapsed.

Some orcs also began to cry; they really didn't want to be bitten to death by parasites—it was too painful.

Some remained calm and immediately took out fire to burn the orcs who were already showing symptoms to death.

Without Guo Xiaoxiao's protective skill shield, they were exposed to the air, giving the parasites room to thrive. Many people were already infected, and to avoid being discovered by Cang Jue, they were secretly disposed of in the forest.

From yesterday until now, the parasites have had room to thrive, resulting in a major outbreak.

The orcs behind them kept pushing in, regardless of whether they could survive or not; they just kept squeezing their way in.

However, some adult insects flew through the air, parasitizing other beastmen and beginning to devour their organs.

Some were near the city walls, some on houses, and even in trees…

The crowd scattered in all directions, fleeing the insects. Some of the more timid couldn't withstand the shock and fainted, awaiting their death.

"The people are gone, the food is gone, everything is gone."

"They said we must have planned this all along, just waiting for us to come in so we could run away."

"Stop talking and find somewhere to hide!"

"What's the use of hiding? Parasites can fly, and they're so small. Without that shield, they'd all die here. Stop trying to escape, just accept your fate."

Their attempt to escape was futile. No orc knew where to run now; they could only sit there blankly, staring at the sky.

But most orcs have a strong will to survive, so they figured they couldn't stay in the orc city anymore. They needed to find somewhere else, get away from the crowds, and then survive.

A gust of wind blew by, rustling the leaves, which sounded particularly abrupt and made everyone even more afraid.

"Help!"

Who screamed first? Then came an even louder scream, and finally… a bloodcurdling howl.

"Ah~ Ah~ Ah~ Ah"

"Bugs! There are bugs!"

"There's a bug on my leg! Cut it off! It's going to eat my flesh! Waaah!"

…………

A cacophony of sounds...

Guo Xiaoxiao and the others walked for a long time following the directions, and as evening approached, the sun gradually set.

Because of the large number of people, people also need to be assigned to check on their safety and take care of them in each team.

All of this left them extremely exhausted, almost completely drained. They dared not linger, only wanting to reach the Forgotten Continent as quickly as possible.

"Xiaoxiao, are you tired?"

Seeing the beads of sweat on her forehead, Arthur asked with concern...

"Yes, I can still hold on!"
