Chapter 385 Randy's restless heart found a safe place to start a fire and cook.

After traveling for the first day, they could finally rest. To make it easier for everyone to set up camp, Arthur had Cang Jue and the eagle beast draw a line with stones.

Even after ensuring the orcs didn't cross that line, Guo Xiaoxiao still got up to greet everyone, still feeling uneasy.

"Animales inside the sinkhole are permissible, but those outside the designated area are not allowed to be eaten."

Actually, it wouldn't matter if it went a little over, because the system had designated this area for him. But to be on the safe side, they proactively narrowed the area, as the cattle and sheep here are all edible animals.

The ancient continent is vast, and many areas remain unexplored, mainly because it's unknown how to navigate them. Furthermore, sometimes the magnetic field is chaotic, much like in the Southern Hemisphere, leading to strange and unusual occurrences.

Now, with the compass provided by the system, we can accurately navigate to a safe location and avoid getting lost in the Beast World.

The beastmen sat on the ground, surrounding the females and protecting them if any small flying insects approached.

Guo Xiaoxiao stood still, and the line stretched as far as the eye could see—over ten thousand people! Walking in a line was far too many, but thankfully, it was all within manageable limits and safety was guaranteed.

Guo Xiaoxiao has already mentioned that the animals here are usable, but very few beastmen actually touch them, perhaps out of fear, or perhaps due to the effects of the parasites.

Guo Xiaoxiao didn't care. The system couldn't possibly harm her, could it? As long as it said it was safe, then it must be safe.

They found a comfortable spot, spread out animal hides, and sat down. Guo Xiaoxiao then asked Carlos to go get a cow and roast it.

Carlos and the others were still a little worried. Guo Xiaoxiao had said there were no parasites and the animals could eat it; what if they got infected?

This is in the wild. Parasites can fly, and once infected, there's nothing that can be done. Symptoms appear quickly; they're evolving.

"Xiaoxiao, we still have some dried meat stored away. Let's finish that first. The fruit isn't fresh, but it's still edible. I'll feed it to you first."

Guo Xiaoxiao knew Carlos was worried, and she wanted to dispel their hesitation and tell them to relax and not be tense along the way.

"I don't want dried meat, I just want fresh meat. Just slaughter that cow, nothing will happen."

Arthur thought so. He wasn't afraid, but he was worried about the possibility. If they got infected, their deaths wouldn't be a big deal, but what about Guo Xiaoxiao? She was pregnant; what would happen if she got infected with parasites?

"Xiaoxiao, have some jerky for now. We'll go hunting again when we run out."

Mickelson: "I'll go get some water over there. Can someone gather some firewood to start a fire? We'll boil water later. Let's not cut the meat here."

Cang Jue took the initiative to gather firewood, and the other males also busied themselves preparing dinner.

Randy stayed by Guo Xiaoxiao's side, his arm around her shoulder. Guo Xiaoxiao thought for a moment and decided that they had to set an example. If they didn't, the orcs behind them wouldn't dare to go hunting.

"Nothing unusual has happened since we came out. Just listen to me, go hunting. We need to set an example for everyone. If we're fine after eating it, then they'll feel safe eating it."

Arthur's brow furrowed with anxiety. He wasn't worried about himself; after all, he and Guo Xiaoxiao had been spending all their time together, and if something happened, they wouldn't be able to escape infection no matter what.

After Guo Xiaoxiao's repeated insistence, Arthur finally made the decision.

"Okay, we'll do as you say, go hunting, and have a good meal."

Arthur and Carlos went hunting, and Randy joined Cang Jue to gather firewood. Cang Jue carried a bundle of firewood back, put it on the ground, and then flew into the air to follow the group, patrolling back and forth to check if anyone was acting suspiciously.

Guo Xiaoxiao lay on the animal skin, closing her eyes to rest. Although she was very tired, she couldn't fall asleep; she felt a vague sense of unease weighing on her mind.

Before reaching her destination, her heart was in her throat, and the only thing that could support her was the compass given to her by the system.

It's safe, it's safe, I kept reassuring myself.

"Arthur, I think I smell something rotten."

An orc said in terror

Randy stood up warily, looked around, and sniffed carefully, but didn't detect anything putrid.

Don't guess, there isn't.

The orc was of ordinary level and didn't have a star ring, but he had good potential and a good physique. He had been too tense the whole way, and the prolonged tension had made him lose his mind.

Having received Randy's affirmative reply, he felt relieved and sat down on the floor to boil water and begin replenishing his fluids.

Ignoring the stares of others, Arthur and Carlos slaughtered a cow.

The others looked on in surprise. Weren't they afraid of getting infected? If there was something wrong, they'd all be doomed if they ate it.

Some orcs wanted to stop them, but because they were too powerful, they dared not speak out openly, only daring to warn them.

"Arthur, stop hunting. We still have dried meat, and you have some too, don't you? Let's eat first, we're not running out of food yet."

"Yes, let's go hunting on the Forgotten Continent. At our speed, we should be there in less than ten days."

It took more than ten days, at least half a month, and the pace was very slow because Guo Xiaoxiao had to lead the way, and they moved forward step by step, without running, but walking.

Guo Xiaoxiao stood up again and said to everyone...

"Pass the message down: the prey designated in this area are all uninfected; there's no problem eating them."

"If it weren't safe, I would have opened the barrier long ago. Trust me, the Great Shaman wouldn't lie. It was the Beast God who guided me here. If you don't believe me, don't you believe the Beast God?"

"What you are doing is blasphemy against the Beast God and a sign of distrust towards him. So many orcs have been infected, yet we are the only ones receiving favor. We must have unconditional trust in the Beast God."
