Chapter 406 Setting Rules for the Little Snakes and Teaching Them How to Feed Them

Normally, when they go home, Guo Xiaoxiao is already asleep, and the people in the cave are also asleep. Seeing Guo Xiaoxiao and her males in the middle of the cave was quite unexpected, but it didn't stop them from getting closer to Guo Xiaoxiao; it had been a long time since they'd seen a female beast.

Guo Xiaoxiao's face fell, and she gave them a lecture, knowing they would be back late. She hadn't expected them to be so late; they weren't even adults yet. What if they were mistaken for wild animals and killed? She would never forgive herself for that.

"Get down on the ground, all of you! Where are you going? You come home when it's pitch black outside, and then you run out again before dawn. What's so fun about going out that you're always being dragged out?"

The little snakes were completely baffled by Guo Xiaoxiao's explanation. They had been living a nomadic hunting life for a long time; they grew quickly, but wouldn't it be easier for them to escape their fathers and mothers?

Besides, staying at home every day isn't fun. It's better to go out and have fun. You can train your survival skills and enjoy the scenery.

He could understand what Guo Xiaoxiao was saying, but he couldn't respond; he could only keep touching Guo Xiaoxiao's ankle.

Hearing the hissing sound, and seeing that they were lined up in a fairly orderly fashion, Guo Xiaoxiao couldn't bear to scold them too much.

I don't know if she was reflecting on her actions, but she bears responsibility for this. As a mother, she rarely cared about them. If Carlos hadn't suggested they become independent, she would have let the little snakes roam freely outside.

It was her oversight; she will absolutely not neglect them again.

Xiaoxiao listed the rules for them

"It was all the mother's fault in the past; she didn't care enough about your relationship. But now, for your safety, you're not allowed to go into the forest. If you really want to go out to play, I have to be with you to protect you."

She's protecting the snake cubs? That's backwards; she probably couldn't even defeat a single snake. Arthur thought she was mistaken.

"Xiaoxiao, I don't object if you want to take the snake cubs out, but I must be with you. You're not allowed to make decisions on your own."

Although her words were blunt, the point was valid. Guo Xiaoxiao simply wanted to convey that it's dangerous for children to play outside without an adult present. She softened her tone slightly as she spoke to Arthur.

"We'll talk about it later. I'm still training the cubs. Next time we go out, whoever is free can come with me."

Randy: "If you want to go out, I'm free every day. I'll go with you."

When Randy learned that Guo Xiaoxiao wanted to have Mr. Mickson's child, he was heartbroken and couldn't breathe. Running laps wasn't enough for him. He had planned to go for a run after dinner, but then he felt it would sacrifice his time with Guo Xiaoxiao.

He decided to just stay by her side. From today onward, he would leave everything else to Abier and focus solely on winning over Guo Xiaoxiao.

"Alright, alright, we'll talk about it later."

Guo Xiaoxiao didn't want to disturb the snake cubs' rest; it was too late, and they needed plenty of sleep to grow properly. Guo Xiaoxiao switched back to a serious tone.

"Did you all understand? Tomorrow morning when I wake up, I want to see you all in my room. Don't leave my sight. I'll take you out to play, but only if it's safe."

Little Snake Ding: "What's wrong with Mother Beast today? Did we do something wrong?"

Little Snake Armor: "Damn it!! The orc we killed was from the cave, and they've discovered us!"

Little Snake C: "That can't be right. The orcs in the cave are from Beast City. Everyone knows that our mother gave birth to eight snake cubs. They wouldn't attack us like wild animals."

Little Snake A: "Then why won't we go out to play? There must be a reason."

Little Snake Ding: "Don't look at me, I don't know either."

The little snakes were exchanging glances at each other's profile pictures as if discussing something, while the few who couldn't speak snake language could only stare blankly.

Guo Xiaoxiao: "Kids, did you hear that? Nod if you understand."

The little snakes obediently nodded, but a question still lingered in their minds.

Little Snake A: "Agree for now, we'll find a chance to sneak out later."

Little Snake Ding: "What are we going to do about eating meat? Our father doesn't feed us, and our mother is taking care of the eaglets. We're hungry!"

Snake B: "If you eat the eagle cubs, the meat they give us is ours."

The little snakes ignored the fifth one when they were young.

Little Snake C: "What are you talking about? The mother beast will definitely feed us; whether we get enough to eat or not is another matter."

Little Snake Ding: "I killed an orc today, and his attitude changed as soon as he came back. That's where things went wrong; someone must have complained about us."

Little Snake C: "Stop talking, just agree quickly, you're sleepy, go to sleep first."

The little snakes nodded in agreement, indicating to Guo Xiaoxiao that they understood. Their good attitude allowed Guo Xiaoxiao to leave with Arthur and Randy, completely satisfied.

The next day, before Guo Xiaoxiao had even woken up, the snake cubs obediently ran to her room to report for duty. Since the door was closed, they could only wait at the door.

Carlos also assumed the little snakes had gone out early in the morning to explore the forest, until the three of them came downstairs and brought breakfast to Guo Xiaoxiao's room to eat together. They then saw the little snakes standing obediently by the door.

Cang Jue: "Oh, that's rare. We hardly ever see them at this time. Are they here to see Xiao Xiao?"

Carlos was slightly displeased. He had said he would go hunting for meals himself, so what was the point of standing by the door? Had he seen them bring the meat in the morning and was he deliberately waiting here?

"If you're hungry, go hunting in the forest, don't just stand there."

Carlos's pure Parseltongue had deteriorated by the time he grew up, and he no longer understood what the little snakes meant.

The little snakes didn't know what to say either. She explained that he had been forced into it; the mother beast had sent them to greet them.

Little Snake A: "Oh dear, I'm so hungry! Can't I have something to eat?"

Little Snake Ding: "One tells us to go out, the other tells us to wait. Whom should we listen to?"

Little Snake C: "Of course we should listen to the mother beast. Think about it, who's in charge here? Even the father beast doesn't dare to mess with the mother beast, do you dare?"
