Randy held Guo Xiaoxiao in his arms, inhaling the scent of her hair, closing his eyes to rest and enjoy the beautiful moment.
Suddenly, he caught a whiff of something unusual. He frowned slightly and looked around in confusion.
Guo Xiaoxiao's sense of smell wasn't as keen as his, and her hearing wasn't as developed either. She just watched the snake cubs playing and didn't notice anyone approaching.
With the enemy not moving, Randy didn't want to panic, especially since he had a female with him. He held Guo Xiaoxiao even tighter, not daring to relax for a moment.
The snake cubs possessed exceptional perception; they sensed someone approaching them, stealthily drawing closer.
But it couldn't fool them; the rustling of leaves on the ground was undeniable.
Who could it be? After some discussion, the snake cubs decided to send the fifth snake to investigate first, as he was the most powerful of the eight snakes.
Without hesitation, Little Snake B darted towards the source.
Guo Xiaoxiao watched as seven snakes waited in place, while another snake slithered away, disappearing into a grove of trees.
"Randy, Randy, one of them ran away. We have to go find it."
Randy scooped Guo Xiaoxiao up in his arms and jumped down from the tree trunk, chasing after the direction the snake had gone. But seven snakes blocked their way, preventing them from going any further.
Little Snake Armor: "I don't know if there's any danger. Don't let the mother beast pass by."
Little Snake Ding: "With the wolf beast leading the way, they're probably fine. We can't stop them even if we try."
Little Snake C: "Don't panic, let's wait for Old Five."
Randy tried to change direction, and the snakes seemed to cling to them; whichever way he turned, they moved in that direction.
Guo Xiaoxiao noticed that the snake cub was intentionally obstructing her; was it some kind of game of hide-and-seek? But seven snakes searching for one snake wouldn't be enough.
"It's okay, put me down, I can walk by myself."
Randy didn't let go; it was so comfortable holding her soft and cuddly. There were also people watching them warily; if anyone suddenly jumped out, he could immediately protect Guo Xiaoxiao.
"I'm not tired. Where do you want to go? Tell me and I'll take you."
Guo Xiaoxiao smiled: "I was just taking a walk around here. I wanted to get down and walk around for a bit. I'll go with you to the bushes and find the other snake."
Randy was reluctant to put her down, but still wouldn't let her stray too far from him. Holding her hand, they prepared to run into the bushes to investigate.
Randy thought that since they weren't strong and he didn't feel any powerful pressure, they might just be passing orcs. Arthur had negotiated with another tribe of orcs, saying that they were not allowed to hunt here when territories were being divided. Could it be that they had come here?
Running off without warning is a blatant provocation, tantamount to ignoring any warning. With my 5,000 men and their 10,000, how could we possibly annihilate our prey so quickly?
"This must be taken seriously," Randy whispered in Guo Xiaoxiao's ear.
"Xiaoxiao, try to get closer to me. There are people moving around us, but they're not the orcs from our cave."
Guo Xiaoxiao was startled. What if the little snake escaped on its own and was killed as a wild animal?
Who is it? I don't see them! Where are they?
Randy: "The scent is getting closer, so it's not far from us. It should be hiding just ahead. Some races are naturally good at hiding. If it weren't for the scent, even I would have a hard time spotting it. You're a female, so your senses aren't as sharp as mine."
Guo Xiaoxiao: "Then let's hurry and find the snake cubs, and go back to the cave. Let's not cause any more trouble."
Randy had planned it that way, but the orc dared to spy on them. He was determined to find him, teach him a lesson, and find out which tribe he belonged to.
Whether he came to hunt or not, it's his fault just for being in this area.

A whimpering sound came from the haystack ahead, as if in great pain; it must be an orc.
